To accomodate increasing housing shortage in many cities, Korean Government has implemented various residental land development projects to provide more land for new housing construction. Most of the residential areas developed by these projects were used for multi-family housing units. Under this process, the size and location of the neighborhood service facilities in the development area were regulated by uniform standards. For this reason, the neighborhood service facilities were not able to be provided according to the household density but provided in minimum status required by these standards. Based on these considerations, this study aimed to evaluated residential land development project conducted by pubilc authority, one of the residential land development projects in Korea. Results of the case studies confirmed findings from literature review and proposed that existing regulations applied to these projects need to be amended not only to accomodata unique situation of each development area but also to enhance level of the dwelling environment. As ways to resolve these problems, this study suggests followings: (1) more flexible operation of the regulations, (2) inclusion of the socio-economic characteristics of the perspective resident in planning process, and (3) introduction of design techniques in the project. Finally, this study proposed future study directions in relation to this issue.

Laccases (EC 1.10.3.2), a group of multi-copper oxidases (MCOs), play multiple biological functions and widely exist in many species. Fungal laccases have been extensively studied for their industrial applications, however, there was no database specially focused on fungal laccases. To provide a comparative genomics platform for fungal laccases, we have developed a comparative genomics platform for laccases and MCOs (http://laccase.riceblast.snu.ac. kr/). Based on protein domain profiles of characterized sequences, 3,571 laccases were predicted from 690 genomes including 253 fungi. The number of putative laccases and their properties exhibited dynamic distribution across the taxonomy. A total of 505 laccases from 68 genomes were selected and subjected to phylogenetic analysis. As a result, four clades comprised of nine subclades were phylogenetically grouped by their putative functions and analyzed at the sequence level. Our work would provide a workbench for putative laccases mainly focused on the fungal kingdom as well as a new perspective in the identification and classification of putative laccases and MCOs.
The 5G is the 5th generation mobile network that provides enhanced mobile broadband, ultra-reliable & low latency communications, and massive machine-type communications. New services can be provided through multi-access edge computing, network function virtualization, and network slicing, which are key technologies in 5G mobile communication. However, these new technologies provide new attack paths and threats. In this paper, we analyzed the overall threats of 5G mobile communication through a literature review. First, defines 5G mobile communication, analyzes its features and technology architecture, and summarizes possible security issues. Addition, it presents security threats from the perspective of user devices, radio access network, multi-access edge computing, and core networks that constitute 5G mobile communication. After that, security requirements for threat factors were derived through literature analysis. The purpose of this study is to conduct a fundamental analysis to examine and assess the overall threat factors associated with 5G mobile communication. Through this, it will be possible to protect the information and assets of individuals and organizations that use 5G mobile communication technology, respond to various threat situations, and increase the overall level of 5G security.

The progressive collapse analysis of reinforced concrete (RC) moment-frame buildings under extreme loads is discussed from the perspective of modeling issues. A threat-independent approach or the alternate path method forms the basis of the simulations wherein the extreme event is modeled via column removal scenarios. Using a prototype RC frame building, issues and considerations in constitutive modeling of materials, options in modeling the structural elements and specification of gravity loads are discussed with the goal of achieving consistent models that can be used in collapse scenarios involving successive loss of load-bearing columns at the lowest level of the building. The role of the floor slabs in mobilizing catenary action and influencing the progressive collapse response is also highlighted. Finally, an energy-based approach for identifying the proximity to collapse of regular multi-story buildings is proposed.

In this paper, we present a framework for collision avoidance of UGVs by vision-based control. On the image plane which is created by perspective camera rigidly attached to UAV hovering stationarily, image features of UGVs are to be controlled by our control framework so that they proceed to desired locations while avoiding collision. UGVs are assumed as unicycle wheeled mobile robots with nonholonomic constraint and they follow the image feature's movement on the ground plane with low-level controller. We used potential function method to guarantee collision prevention, and showed its stability. Simulation results are presented to validate capability and stability of the proposed framework.

The term 'Unicorns' in the corporate ecosystem was firstly introduced by Aileen Lee in 2013. It has been actively discussed in South Korea particularly to compare the level of the 'start-up ecosystem' from a global perspective. Accordingly, the Korean government has recently set a policy goal 'to nurture 20 Korean unicorn companies by 2022'. While the phenomenon of 'Unicorn Club Company' has been brought to the level of policy objectives and spread more widely to the public, existing academic research to understand its substantial and underlying implications has been insufficient. First, in this study, the characteristics of 479 'Unicorn Club' companies in 2019 were analyzed in-depth. Previous research has focused on the general status and trend by analyzing the number of unicorn companies by country and industry classifications. However, this study conducted a qualitative exploratory analysis by investigating descriptive statistics about unicorn companies, including their investors, while providing case studies. Also, cluster analysis, ANOVA, and multi-level regression were employed for quantitative exploration. The characteristics of individual companies were examined based on the "ERIS Model (Entrepreneur - Industry(Market) - Resource - Strategy Model)". Secondly, factors influencing its valuations were examined in connection with the previously analyzed characteristic variables and investor characteristics. Finally, based on these, the future direction of the "Unicorn Phenomenon" from the perspective of "Enterprise Ecosystem" and productively using it from the perspective of the public policy is suggested.

The current networks do not disclose information about a management domain due to scalability, manageability and commercial reasons. Therefore, it is very hard to calculate an optimal path to the destination. Also, due to poor information sharing, if an error occurs in the intermediate path, it is very difficult to re-search the path and find the best path. Hence, to manage each domain more efficiently, an architecture with top-level path computation node which can obtain information of separate nodes are highly needed This study aims to investigate a federation of a united network around NRN(National Research Network) that could allow resource sharing between countries and also independent resource management for each country. Considering first the aspects that can be accessed from the perspective of a national research network, ICE(Information Control Element) and GFO(Global Federation Organizer)-based architecture is designed as a top-level path computation element to support traffic engineering and applied to the multi-domain network. Then, the federation for the independent management of resources and resource information sharing among national research networks have been examined.
This study examined how the explicit and implicit race attitudes differ according to age and gender from the developmental perspective in Korean elementary students. The study also investigated the efficacy of a multi-cultural education program on explicit and implicit attitude change in elementary school students. This thesis consists of two parts. In Study 1, elementary school students(first grade:117, fourth grade:117) completed Explicit Attitudes Rating Scales, Explicit Preference Test, and Child Implicit Association Tests (Korean-White/Korean-Black/ Korean-Southeast Asian IATs). The effects of age and gender on explicit and implicit attitudes toward Korean/White/Black/Southeast Asian were examined with two-way MANOVA. The results demonstrated that as age increases, in-group preference/out-group bias decrease on the explicit level. In contrast, on the implicit level, as age increases, in-group preference/out-group bias do not decrease. Rather, prejudiced attitudes toward blacks increase. Study 2 was performed to investigate the effect of a multi-cultural education program on explicit and implicit attitude change toward races in elementary school students. The program conveying an anti-bias message consists of three sessions, and the procedures are as follows; watching video clips, confirming contents and short discussion. Two classes in the program and two classes in comparative groups on the first and fourth grade of elementary school were assessed. The results showed that black preference significantly increased both in the first and the fourth grade elementary students on the explicit attitude level, but not on the implicit level. The theoretical and practical implications of these findings were discussed.
The objective of this study is to identify the significance of haying many children, their motive of childbirth, patterns of investment in human capital, and their expectations of their children. For this purpose, thirteen mothers of multi-child families have been interviewed in depth. Key findings of the study are as follows. First, the significance of children in many-child families varied. The fundamental features were: symbol of strong ties between God and humans, proud existence displayable to others about their level of happiness, and a means of defining their identity. Second, the typical motives of the majority of interviewees to have many children were "unplanned" but "natural accommodation and adaptation." Third, striking aspects, in terms of many-child families' investment in human capital were to consider many-child families to be a community in itself as a great environment of teaming and to have to deal with issues of limits and impartiality when allocating resources of a limited income and parents' time. Fourth, expectations of parents for their children were "normal growth" and mediocrity, and they cited intangible human assets as the greatest gift to their children. This study will hopefully offer a new analytical perspective to the growing concerns of low birth rates and excessive zeal of parents for their children's education, and thereby lay the groundwork of methodological approaches for resolving such social problems.
This study aims to diagnose research trends and to deduct implications from meta analysis of entrepreneurship studies in the Asia Pacific Journal of Small Business (APJSB), one of the most well-known academic journals in management and entrepreneurship field in Korea. Frequency and crossover analysis are executed in multi-dimensions by time period, topic, author, research level, data, and methodology by complete enumeration of every published paper for 40 years in APJSB which included core terms of entrepreneurship in its title, abstract, or keywords. From objective and quantitative schematization of research trends and characteristics of entrepreneurship studies, novel improvement plans which are highly applicable in research fields are suggested such as diversification of studies from ecosystem perspective, identification of authors, and standardized system of extended abstract of research papers. Implications and suggestions derived from the results propose future research directions and tasks when entrepreneurship studies have been rapidly increased. Furthermore, the innovation plans of management system of journals and papers are expected to contribute promotion of entire studies by significantly reducing trial and error, and inefficiency in research process.
