However, there are few domestic studies on the Infill components for the change of structure. As a result, further studies may have to be based on the case study. The purpose of this research is to provide fundamentals for the development of infill components corresponding to the structural change, especially for the development of partition walls that can be easily moved by dwellers. In South Korea, problems such as low fertility, aging population, and income polarization have recently become more serious. In this time of social change, it is necessary to examine the current changes occurring to residences in order to improve the stability and health of residential areas. The purpose of this study is to investigate the changes of residential areas that occurred between 2000 and 2010 based on detached houses, which are the foundation of residential areas in Seoul. Changes in residential areas can be observed by examining changes in the type of housing and the characteristics of the residents. Since the type of housing and the characteristics of the residents change in the same area, it is necessary to study them together, not as individual elements. Census data is suitable for this purpose, because it can show the changes that have occurred to the housing type and the residents' characteristics within the neighborhood unit. Among the census output areas identified as residential areas based on detached houses, six sites were selected as the case study area based on the rate of change of detached houses. From the result of the case study using the census data, the study area was categorized into three regional types: (i) an urban development and redevelopment area; (ii) an area with a concentration or increasing number of detached houses; (iii) an area with an increasing number of multi-family houses based on detached houses.
The environmental problems aren't only restricted in single area or country, but also related in all around the world. Various approaches have been tried to protect and utilize properly the environment. Especially, building area has been attempted to provide the model which could explain the degree of environmental influence and technology development criteria to lessen the environmental impact in building life cycle. The environmental impact in the building life cycle can be overally explained with sustainability. Sustainability can be utilized to establish the target level of building to environmental influence. This paper aimed at extracting items to evaluate the building sustainability, divided into social, economic and environmental aspects. Second, the 93-items would be controlled and reviewed into 21 items, which are five social aspect items, two economic aspect items and twelve environmental items, because 93 items can not properly be applied and evaluated. And, it provided the model to combine the extracted items of each area. In social aspect, the outdoor noise is more affect than any other items. In environmental aspect, the item of surface-to-volume is more affect than any other items.

Most houses in the declined residential area are multi-family rental housing and have many factors congesting housing environment such as narrow in-between space, outdoor staircases, walls and semi-basement floor, which make thermal environment getting worse. Most of the residents in this area are small tenants vulnerable to climate change adaptation, This damage is expected to be even greater. This study focus on multiple dwelling in urban residential area prone to temperature rise and draw temperature adaption method that can apply to multiple dwelling.

This study provides a descriptive and analytical account of major aspects of urban development and transformation of housing types of Italian Firenze from the 13th century to the 19th century. It is a typo-morphological depiction of urban spatial structure of the extraordinary city, Firenze, the center of Italian Renaissance. And this study has proceeded on the assumption that the evolving form of the urban structure and housing types cannot be understood without reference to the larger context of political, economic, and social life. Based on these backgrounds, the purpose of this study is threefold: to provide a comprehensive discussion of general characteristics of urban spatial structure of Firenze, and to explain the process of formation of working-class neighborhoods by constructing new city wall in later 13th century, and to discuss transformation of housing types of the working-class neighborhood with understanding the mechanism of existence of housing in the newly formed residential neighborhoods. The development of residential neighborhoods was pursued by 'planned' manner through forming square-shaped blocks, and characterized by the subdivision of larger properties into standardized building lots for the construction of houses. On the bases of documentary evidences, several ecclesiastical institutions are identified as the agents of a distinctive type of development. While the institutions did the major role for developing lands, the construction of houses was done by small scale construction agents with moderate amount of properties. The major housing type of working-class neighborhoods of Firenze has been the 'casa a schiera' characterized by the form of narrow front and long depth. The type was generalized by the newly formed middle and working-class of Firenze which grew their body very rapidly, Even though the type assumed very uniform in its fen there were many variations. And through passing time, the casa a schiera developed to be multi-family housing, and the level of variation became deepen. Eventually, transformation of housing type of Firenze was ended by appearance of the 'casa in linea', which was very similar to modern apartment in its spatial organization.
The goal of this research is to explore quantitative and residential features and spatial patterns of two-person households to suggest policy implications for housing supply and development in Seoul. Major findings of this study are as follows. First, the number of two-person households has increased rapidly mainly due to the growth of the elderly and single-parent households. They are mainly composed of the elderly over 60s and the youth of 30s of householder age. They are less likely to have well-paying jobs, and thus more likely to suffer from poverty. They are also inclined to live in rental and small-sized residential units and spatial segregation between the youth and the elderly became serious. In addition, their residential area can be classified into four types: area adjacent to employment centers, hinterland of urban centers, affordable multi-family housing area and redeveloped apartment area. It is necessary to change the current housing policy directions to take changing population and household structure into consideration. Also, diversified housing strategies and programs should be prepared to consider various household types and their needs and demands. Place-based strategies for housing supply and development are needed in consideration of spatial patterns and locational attributes of two-person households. Attention needs to be paid to resolving the social issue of residential segregation between different generations.
This study reviews urban infrastructure and housing management in Kuwait to establish a strategy for going abroad in an urban management sector after the construction of the Kuwait New Town. This study reviews legal systems and governance related to urban infrastructure and housing management as well, offering implications that are collated from international and Korean case studies. By doing so, this paper proposes a governance structure for urban infrastructure and housing management along with key agendas for local institutional improvements. This study suggests that the establishment of a legal system equivalent to the Korean Multi-family Housing Management Act is a key to institutional improvements. The (tentatively entitled) 'Housing Management Act' is proposed to specify the scope and the ways of management in mandatory management subject to local conditions. The direction of going abroad, such as the management scope and the implementation system, discussed in this study can be used as a reference when expanding into other countries in the Middle East that have similar institutional environments to Kuwait in urban infrastructure and housing management.
