Objectives : This study aimed to compare the psychosocial characteristics among patients with functional gastrointestinal disorder (FGID), adults with functional gastrointestinal symptoms, and normal control group and investigate factors related to quality of life (QoL) of FGID patients. Methods : 65 patients diagnosed with FGID were selected. 79 adults were selected as normal control group based on the Rome III diagnostic criteria, and 88 adults who showed functional gastrointestinal symptoms were selected as "FGID positive group". Demographic factors were investigated. Psychosocial factors were evaluated using the Korean-Beck Depression Inventory-II, Korean-Beck Anxiety Inventory, Korean-Childhood Trauma Questionnaire, Multi-dimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support, Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale and WHO Quality of Life Assessment Instrument Brief Form. A one-way ANOVA was used to compare differences among groups. Pearson correlation test was used to analyze correlations between QoL and psychosocial factors in patients with FGID. Results : There were group differences in the education level. Depression (F=29.012, p<0.001), anxiety (F=27.954, p<0.001) and Childhood trauma (F=7.748, p<0.001) were significantly higher in FGID patient group than in both FGID-positive and normal control group. Social support (F=5,123, p<0.001), Resilience (F=9.623, p<0.001) and QoL (F=35.991, p<0.001) were significantly lower in the FGID patient group than in others. QoL of FGID patients showed a positive correlation with resilience (r=0.475, p<0.01), and showed a negative correlation with depression (r=-0.641, p<0.01), anxiety (r=-0.641, p<0.01), and childhood trauma (r=-0.278, p<0.05). Conclusions : FGID patients have distinctive psychosocial factors compared to the both FGID-positive and normal control group. Therefore, the active interventions for psychosocial factors are required in the treatment of patients with FGID.
The purpose of this study was to identify important selection attributes of customers for dining at family restaurants, and the determinant and predicting factors in customers' intentions of revisiting. A closed-ended questionnaire was used, and a systematic sampling approach was employed to survey a sample of customers in family restaurants. A total of 124 questionnaires were used for analysis among 300 distributed. Multivariate analysis(factor and regression analysis) was performed for 19 selection attributes measured on a five-point scale. A four-dimensional structure(harmonized decoration consistent service, valuable food, and attractive facility) was established from 19 selection attributes. The results of the study showed that three dimensions were significantly related with the customer's intention of revisiting. The dimension of consistent service had the greatest impact on customers' choice. It was clear that a family restaurant manager's emphasis on only one dimension to attract customers might not be as effective as applying a multi-dimensional strategy.
In this study, we are purposed to find the educational effect of practical training using a 3D printed structure-based blind box on multidimensional radiographic image interpretation. The subjects were 83 (male: 49, female: 34) 2nd year radiological science students who participated in the digital medical imaging practice that was conducted for 3 years from 2020 to 2022. The learning method used 3D printing technology to print out the inside structure of the blind box designed by itself. After taking X-rays 3 times (x, y, z axis), the structure images in the blind box were analyzed for each small group. We made the 3D structure that was self-made with clay based on our 2D radiographic images. After taking X-rays of the 3D structure, it was compared whether it matches the structural image of the blind box. The educational effect for the practical training surveyed class faithfulness, radiographic image interpretation ability (attenuation concept, contrast concept, windowing concept, 3-dimensional reading ability), class satisfaction (interest, external recommendation, immersion) on a 5-point Likert scale as an anonymous student self-writing method. As a result, all evaluation items had high positive effects without significant differences between males and females. Practical education using blind boxes is a meaningful example of radiology education technology using 3D printing technology, and it is expected to be used as content to improve students' problem-solving skills and increase satisfaction with major subjects.

Quantum beam technology has been expected to develop breakthroughs for nanotechnology during the third basic plan of science and technology (2006~2010). Recently, Green- or Life Innovations has taken over the national interests in the fourth basic science and technology plan (2011~2015). The NIMS (National Institute for Materials Science) has been conducting the corresponding mid-term research plans, as well as other national projects, such as nano-Green project (Global Research for Environment and Energy based on Nanomaterials science). In this lecture, the research trends in Japan and NIMS are firstly reviewed, and the typical achievements are highlighted over key nanotechnology fields. As one of the key nanotechnologies, the quantum beam research in NIMS focused on synchrotron radiation, neutron beams and ion/atom beams, having complementary attributes. The facilities used are SPring-8, nuclear reactor JRR-3, pulsed neutron source J-PARC and ion-laser-combined beams as well as excited atomic beams. Materials studied are typically fuel cell materials, superconducting/magnetic/multi-ferroic materials, quasicrystals, thermoelectric materials, precipitation-hardened steels, nanoparticle-dispersed materials. Here, we introduce a few topics of neutron scattering and ion beam nanofabrication. For neutron powder diffraction, the NIMS has developed multi-purpose pattern fitting software, post RIETAN2000. An ionic conductor, doped Pr2NiO4, which is a candidate for fuel-cell material, was analyzed by neutron powder diffraction with the software developed. The nuclear-density distribution derived revealed the two-dimensional network of the diffusion paths of oxygen ions at high temperatures. Using the high sensitivity of neutron beams for light elements, hydrogen states in a precipitation-strengthened steel were successfully evaluated. The small-angle neutron scattering (SANS) demonstrated the sensitive detection of hydrogen atoms trapped at the interfaces of nano-sized NbC. This result provides evidence for hydrogen embrittlement due to trapped hydrogen at precipitates. The ion beam technology can give novel functionality on a nano-scale and is targeting applications in plasmonics, ultra-fast optical communications, high-density recording and bio-patterning. The technologies developed are an ion-and-laser combined irradiation method for spatial control of nanoparticles, and a nano-masked ion irradiation method for patterning. Furthermore, we succeeded in implanting a wide-area nanopattern using nano-masks of anodic porous alumina. The patterning of ion implantation will be further applied for controlling protein adhesivity of biopolymers. It has thus been demonstrated that the quantum beam-based nanotechnology will lead the innovations both for nano-characterization and nano-fabrication.

In multimedia database, a multidimensional space-based indexing has been used to increase search efficiency. However, this method is inefficient in terms of ubiquity because it uses Euclidean distance as a scale of distance calculation. On the contrary, a metric space-based indexing method, in which metric axiom is prerequisite is widely available because a metric scale other than Euclidean distance could be used. This paper is attempted to propose a way of improving VP-tree, one of the metric space indexing methods. The VP-tree calculates the distance with an object which is ultimately linked to the a leaf node depending on the node fit for the search range from a root node and examines if it is appropriate with the search range. Because search speed decreases as the number of distance calculations at the leaf node increases, however, this paper has proposed a method which uses the latest interface on query object as the base point of trigonometric inequality for improvement after focusing on the trigonometric inequality-based range compression method in a leaf node. This improvement method would be able to narrow the search range and reduce the number of distance calculations. According to a system performance test using 10,000 video data, the new method reduced search time for similar videos by 5-12%, compared to a conventional method.
The purpose of this study was examine the depression among Mongolians in South Korea. We also determined the effect of acculturative stress and social support on depression. In this study, total of 200 adults over age 18 completed the BDI-II of Mongolian Version, Acculturative stress scale for international student, The Multi-dimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support. Data were analyzed by using the factor analysis, correlation analysis, t-test, and hierarchical regression analysis. We used SPSS 22.0, AMOS 22.0. We found significant difference in mean scores between groups according to socio-demographic characteristics. The level of depression was high in over 3 years immigrants group (M = 8.41, SD = 9.6954), marriage immigrants group (M = 19.1, SD = 16.7649), and female groups (M = 7.61, SD = 9.2188) than compared to reference groups. Acculturative stress and social support of Mongolian immigrants had a significant impact on depression (β = .365, p <.001; β = .- 555, p <.001). There was a moderating effect of social support on the relationship between acculturative stress and depression (β = 1.080, p <.001). The limitations and implications of the study were discussed. We conclude that this study can be used to assess the depression and the mental health of Mongolians in South Korea.

Methods : 135 patients diagnosed with FGID were selected. 79 adults had no observable symptoms of FGID (control group) and 88 adults showed symptoms of FGID (non-FGID group). Demographic factors were investigated. The Korean-Beck Depression Inventory-II, Korean-Beck Anxiety Inventory, Korean-Childhood Trauma Questionnaire, Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support, Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale, Patient Health Questionnaire-15 and WHO Quality of Life Assessment Instrument Brief Form were used to assess psychosocial factors. A one-way ANOVA was used to compare differences among groups. Pearson correlation test was performed to analyze the correlation of psychosocial factors and QOL of the FGID group. Further, a hierarchical regression analysis was conducted to determine factors affecting the QOL of the FGID group. Results : Between-group differences were not significant in demographic characteristics. Depression (F=48.75, p<0.001), anxiety (F=14.48, p<0.001), somatization (F=24.42, p<0.001) and childhood trauma (F=12.71, p<0.001) were significantly higher in FGID group than in other groups. Social support (F=39.95, p<0.001) and resilience (F=17.51, p<0.001) were significantly lower in FGID group than in other groups. Resilience (β=0.373, p<0.01) was the most important explanatory variable. The explained variance was 47.2%. Conclusions : Significantly more symptoms of depression, anxiety, childhood trauma, and somatization were observed for the FGID group. This group also had less social support, resilience, and quality of life than the non-FGID and control groups. The key factor for quality of life of the FGID group was resilience.
As experiential education services are growing, the need for proper management is increasing. Considering that adequate measures are an essential factor for achieving success in managing something, it is important for managers to use a proper system of metrics to measure the performance of experiential education services. However, in spite of this need, little research has been done to develop a valid and reliable set of metrics for assessing the quality of experiential education services. The current study aims to develop a multi-item instrument for assessing the service quality of experiential education. The specific procedure is as follows. First, we generated a pool of possible metrics based on diverse literature on service quality. We elicited possiblemetric items not only from general service quality metrics such as SERVQUAL and SERVPERF but also from educational service quality metrics such as HEdPERF and PESPERF. Second, specialist teachers in the experiential education area screened the initial metrics to boost face validity. Third, we proceeded with multiple rounds of empirical validation of those metrics. Based on this processes, we refined the metrics to determine the final metrics to be used. Fourth, we examined predictive validity by checking the well-established positive relationship between each dimension of metrics and customer satisfaction. In sum, starting with the initial pool of scale items elicited from the previous literature and purifying them empirically through the surveying method, we developed a four-dimensional systemized scale to measure the superiority of experiential education and named it "Experiential Education PERFormance" (EEPERF). Our findings indicate that students (consumers) perceive the superiority of the experiential education (EE) service in the following four dimensions: EE-empathy, EE-reliability, EE-outcome, and EE-landscape. EE-empathy is a judgment in response to the question, "How empathetically does the experiential educational service provider interact with me?" Principal measures are "How well does the service provider understand my needs?," and "How well does the service provider listen to my voice?" Next, EE-reliability is a judgment in response to the question, "How reliably does the experiential educational service provider interact with me?" Major measures are "How reliable is the schedule here?," and "How credible is the service provider?" EE-outcome is a judgmentin response to the question, "What results could I get from this experiential educational service encounter?" Representative measures are "How good is the information that I will acquire form this service encounter?," and "How useful is this service encounter in helping me develop creativity?" Finally, EE-landscape is a judgment about the physical environment. Essential measures are "How convenient is the access to the service encounter?,"and "How well managed are the facilities?" We showed the reliability and validity of the system of metrics. All four dimensions influence customer satisfaction significantly. Practitioners may use the results in planning experiential educational service programs and evaluating each service encounter. The current study isexpected to act as a stepping-stone for future scale improvement. In this case, researchers may use the experience quality paradigm that has recently arisen.
The purpose of this study is to explore the in-depth content of vicarious trauma experience of sexual violence counselors and to develop intervention strategy. To this end, depth interviews were conducted with twelve sexual violence counselors working at the sexual violence counseling site for more than three years. In addition, using the concept mapping method, the content exploration of the experience of vicarious trauma of sexual violence counselors was confirmed, and its conceptual structure was identified. As a result, 60 key sentences regarding the experience of vicarious trauma of sexual violence counselors were extracted. Then, multi-dimensional scale and cluster analysis were conducted after making nineteen appraisal participants who are under the same condition as depth interview participants to categorize and assess key sentences. As a result of analysis, the x-axis of negative perception, psychological and emotional dimension, and the y-axis of personal inner and behavioral dimension appeared, and five clusters emerged: immersion and skepticism about work, experience of emotional assimilation, hypersensitivity to sex, increased vigilance against men, and threat of safety. This provided basic data that could categorize and identify the contents of vicarious trauma of sexual violence counselors experience by sexual violence counselors.
This study is to recognize the relationship between better life index, nursing performance and intents to leave among hospital nurses by comparison. From July 1to July 20, 2012. we collected survey results subjecting on total 700 nurses by random sampling of hospital-class medical institutes over 200 beds located on Busan & Gyeongnam, and analyzed final 677 copies. We recognized the degrees and the differences of happiness index, professionalism, intents to leave among hospital nerses and analyzed the factors impacting on intents to leave among hospital nerses through correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis between variables. The main result is as follows: First, the average of the item related to happiness index of nurse was 3.03 (5 points of scale) and the average score of professionalism was 3.09 (medium degree) but the average score of turnover intention was 3.35 (relatively high); Second, professionalism and turnover intention according to characteristics of subjects were significant statistically (p<0.05) and turnover intention indicated a significant negative relation with happiness index and professionalism; Third, a factor which mostly impact on turnover intention indicated a significant level (p<0.05) in professionalism, happiness index, general hospital, 2.01 to 2.5 million of average pay. Based on such results, as happiness index and professionalism are indicated as major factors to turnover intention, multi-dimensional viewpoint of follow-up study including further variables is required and the plan to apply nursing intervention program for reducing turnover intention is also required.
