4자유도 모션 플랫폼을 이용한 잠수함의 운동감 재현과 스테레오 다채널 가시화 (Submarine Behavior Simulation based on 4-DOF Motion Platform and Stereoscopic Multi-Channel Visualization)

  • Modeling and simulation is important for military training. People can feel perspective when stereoscope images are created using multi-channel visualizations. A submarine oscillates when the submarine is just below the surface of the sea, so that the reconnaissance becomes difficult. Also, the operator should read the information of the target within 6 seconds using the periscope. The operator must have experience. To solve these problems, stereoscopic multi-channel visualization has been tested. The iCAVE system of KAIST provides a large-scale screen, 7 PCs, and 14 projectors to create the stereoscope images. To simulate the motion of a submarine just below the ocean surface, a 4-DOF motion platform is used. The motion data is transmitted to the visual system and the motion platform through the UDP protocol. Variety of weather conditions are created using the Vega Prime software. The stereoscopic multi-channel visualization and the motion platform system created a realistic simulation system.

마이크로 복수 분지관에서의 버블거동에 관한 연구 (Bubble Behavior in a Micro-Multi-Branched-Channel)

  • Recently there are many researches about single flow and two-phase flow phenomena in the mini and microchannel. But from this result the principle in the microchannel was not explained clearly. In this paper two-phase flow pattern was visualized in the micro-multi-branched-channel using a high speed camera. Microchannel was fabricated with PDMS and glass slide. The velocity profile was obtained by a Micro PIV. Then flow boiling at the near inlet area was occurred and vapor was moved in the micro-multi-branched-channel.

분산 가시화를 위한 가상현실 타일 디스플레이 시스템의 개발 (A VR-based Tile Display System for the Distributed Visualization)

  • In recent years, the use of high-resolution tiled display system which does not have restrictions on the size of the screen and implements various layout of tile is increasing in order to evaluate the digital mock-up in physical scale or explore large engineering data set in detail. In this study, we developed multi-channel distributed visualization system which provides a virtual reality-based visual contents using 3D open-source graphics engine. Efficient data structures and exchange methods were proposed as a scene synchronization technology in PC cluster environments. DLP-Cube based tiled visualization system which provides $5{\times}2$ layout of display wall was developed and we validated our approach using this system. In addition, we introduced integrated control program that administrates PC cluster environment in remote and controls the layout of display channels.

  • Flow visualization and PIV measurements were conducted to investigate the flow characteristics of multi-channel with inclination angle. The water flow seeded with tiny vegetable powder as tracers revealed details of flow field. The PIV measurement to acquire multi-point velocity data simulatneously was carried out at three space of plates for 5, 10, and 15mm with variation of inlet flow rates of $0.25m^3/h$ and <$0.5m^3/h.$ Experiment results show that space of plates acts a significant role in separating process.

  • The main purpose of this study is to develop a program for sound field visualization system which gets noise signals in microphones array for incoming noise signals and it uses to operate noise signals and to store data in multi-channel FFT and is consisted to visualize noise signals with a image which is got by camera in center of array by using beamforming algorithm of the array signal processing.

VOF 다상유동 해석을 이용한 침사지 유동특성 연구 (Study on flow characteristics of the grit chamber using VOF multi-phase flow simulations)

  • It is essential to accurately predict the change in water level, velocity, and flow rate for each passage of the grit chamber according to the operating conditions of the pump. In this study, VOF multiphase flow analysis was performed, and the flow characteristics of the grit chamber were predicted. As a result of simulations, the sedimentation phenomenon after the entrance of the grit chamber channel is expected to occur on the side walls. When 6 channels are used, the average speed of the channels is about 52% of the design standard, and when 4 channels are used, the value increases to 74% of the design standard. The average water level in the channels tends to decrease as the flow velocity increases, and the water level in the absorption well with a larger flow rate is maintained lower than that in the absorption well with a smaller flow rate.

  • Flow patterns are very complex and interactive between cylinders. The patterns are turbulent and non-linear caused by various factors. In this paper, flow patterns and pressure gradient around vertical cylinders were investigated by experiment. Changing gaps between cylinders the flow patterns are measured at a fixed coming velocity. Flow patterns showed very complex and closely related to the coming velocity and cylinder space. The pressure gradient around the flow field is observed by twelve hole pitot tubes and manometer. The experiment has been conducted in circulating water channel with PIV system. That can visualize flow patterns. The laser beam was used to reflect the image from particles and recorded by CCD camera. The cylinders were spaced from ID to 5D with 0.5m/sec of incoming flow velocity. The experimental results using pitot tube showed in good agreement with results of precious by others study. The results can be applied in the understanding and design of multiple pile array structures.

편대비행위성의 항법 및 궤도제어를 위한 실시간 Hardware-In-the-Loop 시뮬레이션 테스트베드 초기 설계 (A Preliminary Development of Real-Time Hardware-in-the-Loop Simulation Testbed for the Satellite Formation Flying Navigation and Orbit Control)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 편대비행위성의 항법 및 궤도제어를 위한 실시간 Hardware-In-the-Loop(HIL) 시뮬레이션 테스트베드를 개발하는데 있다. HIL 시뮬레이션 테스트베드는 실제와 비슷한 하드웨어 환경을 구성하여 주어진 편대비행임무 요구조건에 따른 새로운 개념의 알고리즘을 테스트할 수 있는 시뮬레이터이다. HIL 시뮬레이션 테스트베드는 실제의 인공위성 시스템 인터페이스와 최대한 유사하게 설계되었으며 환경 컴퓨터, GPS 시뮬레이터, GPS 수신기, 비행제어 컴퓨터, 시각화 컴퓨터 등 총 5개의 독립적인 시스템으로 구성되어 있다. Spirent Communication사의 GSS6560 다중패널 RF 시뮬레이터와, (주)세트렉아이에서 제작한 우주용 GPS 수신기를 사용하여 실제와 유사한 GPS 관측데이터를 사용한다. GPS 수신기로부터 획득한 관측데이터는 비행제어 컴퓨터 시스템으로 전송되고 이를 통해 편대비행위성의 절대위치 및 상대위치결정을 수행하였다. 또한 이 결과를 바탕으로 비행제어 컴퓨터 시스템은 궤도조정에 필요한 제어값을 계산하여 환경 컴퓨터 시스템으로 전송한다. 이렇게 5개의 독립적인 시스템을 유기적으로 통합하여 폐순환반복(closed-loop) HIL 시뮬레이션 테스트베드를 설계하였다. 이 논문에서는 편대비행 위성의 항법 및 제어 알고리즘 테스트를 위한 실시간 HIL 시뮬레이션 테스트베드의 전반적인 구성방법과 세부적인 구성요소에 대해 설명하였다 저궤도 편대비행위성의 편대유지 임무에 대한 가상의 시나리오를 설정하여 위성 편대비행의 항법 및 궤도제어 알고리즘을 실험적으로 검증하였다.
