  • In this paper, we address the issue of joint detection schemes for uplink cellular system when base station cooperation is possible for multi-user detection in multi-cell scenario. The ZF, ML, MMSE and SIC detection are analyzed and evaluated as a conventional scheme. ML attains the optimal performance but the complexity increases exponentially, ZF/MMSE have simple structure but have poor detection performance and SIC has better performance but it has large complexity and potential of the error propagation. However, they need the increased decoder complexity as the number of iteration is increased. We propose a new joint ML and ZF/MMSE detection scheme, which combines the partial ML decoding and ZF/MMSE detection, in order to decrease the decoder complexity. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme attains same or a little bit better BER performance and expect reduced decoder complexity, specially in the case of large number of Base Station are cooperated each other.

  • As the youngest branch of information hiding, network covert timing channels conceal the existence of secret messages by manipulating the timing information of the overt traffic. The popular model-based framework for constructing covert timing channels always utilizes cumulative distribution function (CDF) of the inter-packet delays (IPDs) to modulate secret messages, whereas discards high-order statistics of the IPDs completely. The consequence is the vulnerability to high-order statistical tests, e.g., entropy test. In this study, a rich security model of covert timing channels is established based on IPD chains, which can be used to measure the distortion of multi-order timing statistics of a covert timing channel. To achieve rich security, we propose two types of covert timing channels based on nested lattices. The CDF of the IPDs is used to construct dot-lattice and interval-lattice for quantization, which can ensure the cell density of the lattice consistent with the joint distribution of the IPDs. Furthermore, compensative quantization and guard band strategy are employed to eliminate the regularity and enhance the robustness, respectively. Experimental results on real traffic show that the proposed schemes are rich-secure, and robust to channel interference, whereas some state-of-the-art covert timing channels cannot evade detection under the rich security model.

  • In TD-SCDMA systems based on TDD, when mobiles move to cell from cell, Baton Handover was used to maintain an ongoing call. But baton handover has a great demand for the equipment and system. Then both hard handover and baton handover are used alternativly in real systems. But ratio of handover success in real system is 95% which is too low to be used in systems. This paper proposes to employ Soft Handover in TD-SCDMA systems which has performed in WCDMA systems. Also we carry out the simulation, which get result of the BER performance between baton handover method and proposed handover method. The proposed method is forward to be better performance than those of the baton and hard handover.
