스테이터-로터 상호간섭 효과를 고려한 3차원 터빈 블레이드의 유체/구조 연계해석 (Fluid/structure Coupled Analysis of 3D Turbine Blade Considering Stator-Rotor Interaction)

  • In this study, fluid/structure coupled analyses have been conducted f3r 3-D stator and rotor configuration. Advanced computational analysis system based on computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and computational structural dynamics (CSD) has been developed in order to investigate fluid/structure responses of general stator-rotor configurations. To solve the fluid/structure coupled problems, fluid domains are modeled using the structural grid system with dynamic moving and local deforming techniques. Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations with Spalart-Allmaras (S-A) and SST ${\kappa}-{\omega}$ turbulence models are solved for unsteady flow problems. A fully implicit time marching scheme based on the Newmark direct integration method is used for computing the coupled aeroelastic governing equations of the 3-D turbine blades for fluid-structure interaction (FSI) problems. Detailed fluid/structure analysis responses for stator-rotor interaction flow conditions are presented to show the physical performance and flow characteristics.

충격파관을 이용한 DISK형 MHD발전기에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Disk Type MHD Generator Using a Shock Tube)

  • In MHD power generation system, enthalpy of the working gas is convened to electric power directly through expansion in generator channel. It means that electric power can be generated without a moving mechanical linkage such as turbine blades. The principle of MHD generation is based on Faraday'law of induction that eletromotive force(u$\times$B) is generated when the working gas of velocity u flows a channel in which magnetic field of strength(B) exists. In this paper, helium gas seeded with cesium is used as working gas. There are two types of generator in MHD generation; linear type faraday and disk type hall generator. Rogowski coils having the bandwidth of the 100(Hz) ~ 20(kHz) were used for measuring current flowing MHD disk channel. Optimum load resistor value of the MHD generator studied was 2.5[$\Omega$]. Disk type hall generator's generation performance is the main target of this paper, which superiors to linear type Faraday generator in many points. Isentropic efficiency and enthalpy extraction rate of disk type shock tube driven hall generator is discussed here.

  • In this study, a fluid/structure coupled analysis system for simulating complex flow-induced vibration (FIV) phenomenon of cascades has been developed. The flow is modeled using Euler and Wavier-Stokes equations with different turbulent models. The fluid domains are modeled using the unstructured grid system with dynamic deformations due to the motion of structural boundary. The Spalart-Allmaras (S-A) and the SST ${\kappa}-{\omega}$ turbulent models are used to predict the transonic turbulent flows. A fully implicit time marching scheme based on the Newmark direct integration method is used in order to solve the coupled governing equations for viscous flow-induced vibration phenomena. For the purpose of validation for the developed FIV analysis system, comparison results for computational analyses of steady and unsteady aerodynamics and flutter analyses are presented in the transonic flow region. In addition, flow-induced vibration analyses for the isolated cascade and multi-blades cascade models have been conducted to show the physical fluid-structure interaction effects in the time domain.

고속 상륙돌격장갑차의 저항 및 추진 성능에 관한 수치 분석 (Numerical Analysis on the Resistance and Propulsion Performances of High-Speed Amphibious Assault Vehicles)

  • The hydrodynamic characteristics of amphibious assault vehicles are investigated using commercial CFD code, STAR-CCM+. Resistance performances of a displacement-type vehicle and a semi-planing type vehicle are analyzed in calm water. The self-propelled model is also computed for the semi-planing type vehicle. All computations are performed using an overset mesh system and a RANS based flow-solver coupled with a two-degree of freedom equations of motion. A moving reference frame is applied to simulate revolutions of impeller blades for a waterjet propulsion system. Grid dependency tests are performed to evaluate discretization errors for the mesh systems. The numerical analysis results are compared with the experimental results obtained from model tests. It is shown that RANS is capable of investigating the resistance and self-propulsion characteristics of high-speed amphibious assault vehicles. It is also found that a fully covered side skirt, which is covering tracks, reduces resistance and stern trim, besides increasing propulsive efficiency.

  • Around the world, fossil fuel energy is being replaced with renewable energy due to environmental problems and sharp price increases. Many countries are making a change in the direction of moving toward eco-friendliness by reducing carbon emissions. Among renewable energies, the wind energy is eco-friendly because it produces electricity by wind power without carbon emissions, and it attracts attention worldwide as a great alternative to the exhausted fuel energy. To improve the efficiency of wind turbines, large and extra-large wind turbines have been developed all over the world by increasing install and diameter. These wind turbines have difficulty in transport after manufacture because of their size and height. Since the height of wind turbine blades is higher than the existing tunnel height, it is impossible to transport them. In this study, therefore, a 5 MW class large blade was separated for transport easiness as wind power generators became larger globally. Aerodynamic design and analysis was carried out for the blade. After performing structural design and analysis with the model designed, the stress concentration of the analyzed model and the various factors for consideration when separating were considered to conduct the study of selecting the optimal blade separation positions.

Study on the Performance of Infrared Thermal Imaging Light Source for Detection of Impact Defects in CFRP Composite Sandwich Panels

  • Recently, composite materials have been mainly used in the main wings, ailerons, and fuselages of aircraft and rotor blades of helicopters. Composite materials used in rapid moving structures are subject to impact by hail, lightning, and bird strike. Such an impact can destroy fiber tissues in the composite materials as well as deform the composite materials, resulting in various problems such as weakened rigidity of the composite structure and penetration of water into tiny cracks. In this study, experiments were conducted using a 2 kW halogen lamp which is most frequently used as a light source, a 2 kW near-infrared lamp, which is used for heating to a high temperature, and a 6 kW xenon flash lamp which emits a large amount of energy for a moment. CFRP composite sandwich panels using Nomex honeycomb core were used as the specimens. Experiments were carried out under impact damages of 1, 4 and 8 J. It was found that the detection of defects was fast when the xenon flash lamp was used. The detection of damaged regions was excellent when the halogen lamp was used. Furthermore, the near-infrared lamp is an effective technology for showing the surface of a test object.

비정렬 적응 격자계를 이용한 비정상 로터-동체 공력 상호작용 모사 (Simulation of Unsteady Rotor-Fuselage Aerodynamic Interaction Using Unstructured Adaptive Meshes)

  • 3차원 비정렬 격자를 이용한 로터-동체 공력 상호작용에 대한 수치적 해석을 수행하였다. 로터와 동체간의 상대적인 운동을 모사하기 위하여 해석 유동장을 회전하는 부분과 정지된 부분으로 나누어 계산하였다. 블레이드 끝단에서 생성되는 끝단 와류를 포착하기 위하여 준 비정상 적응 격자 기법을 도입하였다. 또한 낮은 속도로 전진 비행하는 헬리콥터 해석을 위해서 저 마하수 예조건화 기법을 적용하였다. 로터-동체 공력 간섭현상에 대한 검증을 위해 Georgia Tech 형상과 NASA에서 실험한 ROBIN 형상에 대한 실험 결과와 비교하여 본 연구 해석 기법이 타당함을 보였다.

LIGA-like 공정으로 제작된 마이크로 터빈의 유한 요소 해석 (The Finite Element Analysis for a Micro Turbine Fabricated by LIGA-like Process)

  • LIGA-like 공정을 이용하여 고종횡비를 갖는 초소형 니켈 터빈을 제작하기 위하여 블레이드에 대한 유한 요소 해석을 수행하여 안전한 운전 조건을 연구하였다. 이 해석으로부터 터빈의 입구와 출구의 압력 차이가 44kPa 정도일 때에 항복강도를 넘지 않도록 해야 하며 축의 외경과 터빈 날개의 내경 사이의 접촉에 의한 마찰계수와 최대 응력 사이의 관계는 약간 반비례하는 경향을 보였다. 즉, 터빈이 회전하는 상태에서 최대 응력은 접촉 마찰이 증가함에 따라 감소했다. 터빈과 같이 반복하중을 받는 부분은 취성이 강한 실리콘보다는 금속으로 제작해야 하며 이를 위해서는 표면 미세 가공 보다 LTGA-like 공정으로 제작되어야 한다. 본 연구는 초소형 구조물에서 움직이는 부분과 고정된 부분의 접촉 문제를 갖는 여러 종류의 문제를 다루는 데에 이용될 수 있다.

커트 도구에 따른 모발 절단면의 형태학적 특성 (Morpholgical Characteristics of Hair Section According to Cutting Tools)

  • 본 연구는 레이저, 클리퍼, 가위 등의 커트도구를 사용하여 모발절단면의 형태학적 특성을 주사전자현미경으로 관찰하였다. 레이저(razer)를 사용해서 절단된 모발의 단면은 모발 끝이 한쪽 방향으로 예리하고 뾰족하게 형성되었고 모발의 잘린 면이 얇아지면서 모발의 바깥쪽 부위로 휘어지는 것을 확인하였다. 가위(scissors)를 사용하여 절단된 모발의 횡단면은 비교적 깨끗하게 관찰되었다. 이는 가위와 사람의 손힘이 일정하게 주어짐에 따라 모발의 절단면이 찌그러지거나 눌림 현상 없이 모발형태가 변형되지 않고 절단되었기 때문인 것으로 관찰되었다. 클리퍼(clipper)를 사용해서 절단된 모발 횡단면의 큐티클층은 손상되지 않고 고르게 잘려 나갔으나 피질(cortex)은 섬유성 단백질인 거대원섬유 (macrofibril)들이 매끄럽게 잘려나가지 않고 모발단면의 중간위치에서 층이 형성되는 것으로 나타났다. 이것은 클리퍼의 날이 전기적인 힘에 의해서 고속으로 움직이면서 모발을 순간적으로 절단하면서 생기는 자국으로 나타났다.
