Intelligent monitoring, life entertainment, medical rehabilitation, and other fields are only a few examples where visual image technology is becoming increasingly sophisticated and playing a significant role. Recognizing Wushu, or martial arts, movements through the use of visual image technology helps promote and develop Wushu. In order to segment and extract the signals of Wushu movements, this study analyzes the denoising of the original data using the wavelet transform and provides a sliding window data segmentation technique. Wushu movement The Wushu movement recognition model is built based on the hidden Markov model (HMM). The HMM model is trained and taught with the help of the Baum-Welch algorithm, which is then enhanced using the frequency weighted training approach and the mean training method. To identify the dynamic Wushu movement, the Viterbi algorithm is used to determine the probability of the optimal state sequence for each Wushu movement model. In light of the foregoing, an HMM-based martial arts movements recognition model is developed. The recognition accuracy of the HMM model increases to 99.60% when the number of samples is 4,000, which is greater than the accuracy of the SVM (by 0.94%), the CNN (by 1.12%), and the BP (by 1.14%). From what has been discussed, it appears that the suggested system for detecting martial arts acts is trustworthy and effective, and that it may contribute to the growth of martial arts.
A major accident occurring on the bed is falls that occur during at times when the care of nurses or protectors is inadequate, which is fatal to patients or the elderly. In particular, Enuresis or sleepiness caused by sleep apnea increases the risk of falls. Therefore, it is very important to detect falls and sleep apnea of patients without infringing privacy in the bed to patient's safety and accident prevention. In this paper, we reviewed the technologies developed for bed monitoring and implemented a non-intrusive monitoring system. The Occupancy Sensor allows the temperature of the bed and surrounding area to be extracted to enable track of the patient's motion. The Doppler Radar detects the patient's movements at normal times and the respiration state when patients have no movement during sleeping. It is specially designed for real-time monitoring of falling and respiration during sleeping through contactless multi-sensing while solving patient's privacy problems.
As condition-based maintenance (CBM) has risen as a new trend, there has been an active movement to apply information technology for effective implementation of CBM in power plants. This motivation is widespread in operations and maintenance, including monitoring, diagnosis, prognosis, and decision-making on asset management. Thermal efficiency analysis in nuclear power plants (NPPs) is a longstanding concern being updated with new methodologies in an advanced IT environment. It is also a prominent way to differentiate competitiveness in terms of operations and maintenance costs. Although thermal performance tests implemented using industrial codes and standards can provide officially trustworthy results, they are essentially resource-consuming and maybe even a hind-sighted technique rather than a foresighted one, considering their periodicity. Therefore, if more accurate performance monitoring can be achieved using advanced data analysis techniques, we can expect more optimized operations and maintenance. This paper proposes a framework and describes associated methodologies for in-situ thermal performance analysis, which differs from conventional performance monitoring. The methodologies are effective for monitoring, diagnosis, and prognosis in pursuit of CBM. Our enabling techniques cover the intelligent removal of random and systematic errors, deviation detection between a best condition and a currently measured condition, degradation diagnosis using a structured knowledge base, and prognosis for decision-making about maintenance tasks. We also discuss how our new methods can be incorporated with existing performance tests. We provide guidance and directions for developers and end-users interested in in-situ thermal performance management, particularly in NPPs with large steam turbines.
In wireless sensor networks, sensors have capabilities of sensing and wireless communication, computing power and collect data such as sound, movement, vibration. Sensors need to communicate wirelessly to send their sensing data to other sensors or the base station and so they are vulnerable to many attacks like garbage packet injection that cannot be prevented by using traditional cryptographic mechanisms. To defend against such attacks, a behavior-based attack detection is used in which some specialized monitoring nodes overhear the communications of their neighbors(normal nodes) to detect illegitimate behaviors. It is desirable that the total sensing area of normal nodes covered by monitoring nodes is as large as possible. The previous researches have focused on selecting the monitoring nodes so as to maximize the number of normal nodes(node coverage), which does not guarantee that the area sensed by the selected normal nodes is maximized. In this study, we have developed an algorithm for selecting the monitoring nodes needed to cover the maximum sensing area. We also have compared experimentally the covered sensing areas computed by our algorithm and the node coverage algorithm.
This study aimed to verify the criteria of the driver monitoring systems proposed by UNECE ACSF informal working group and the ministry of land, infrastructure, and transport of South Korea using driving behavior data. In order to verify the criteria, we investigated the safety regulations of driver monitoring systems in a conditional autonomous vehicle and found that the driver monitoring measures were related to eye blinks times, head movements, and eye closed duration. Thus, we took two different experimental data including real-world driving and simulator-based drowsy driving behaviors in previous studies. The real-world driving data were used for analyzing blink times and head movement intervals, and the drowsiness data were used for eye closed duration. In the drowsy driving study, 10 drivers drove approximately 37 km of a monotonous highway (about 22 min) twice. The results suggested that the appropriate duration of eyes continuously closed was 4 seconds. The results from real-world driving data were presented in the other paper - part 1.
To minimize damages caused by landslides due to severe rain falls and storms during the rainy season every year, it is necessary to carry out research to monitor the symptoms of landslide in advance and prevent them. If proper actions ate taken in advance by monitoring the symptoms of landslide, personal and property damages caused by landslides can be prevented or minimized. This study tries to measure the movement of model slopes after causing displacement to each model slope using no prism Total Station and examine the applicability of Total Station by displacement through the analysis of the data.
Strip top mark is one of the major problem areas in hot strip coiling operation. The key for good coiling is having a precise detection instrument of strip head end and an understanding of QOC(quick open control) control algorithm and mechanism. Therefore, this study aims at developing QOC monitoring system that is useful for avoiding strip top mark at coiling process. In this study, strip movement between mandrel and unit roll(wrapper roll) was thoroughly studied using high speed camera. The monitoring system was developed to calculate QOC open time and to estimate optimal open time values for good coiling operation. Its performance has been proven by extensive field tests on downcoiler of #2 Hot Strip Mill Line in Pohang Works.
This study is to propose an in-process monitoring system for micro resistance spot welding processes using minute accelerometer. A minute accelerometer is mounted on the upper moving electrode tip holder. With its high sensitivity and frequency response characteristics, accelerometer output signal has been successfully recorded and integrated twice to reflect electrode expansion during micro spot welding processes. The analysis of electrode expansion pattern was attempted to find its correlation with spot weld quality. Major previous findings1-6) regarding spot weld quality assessment with the electrode expansion signal in large scale resistance spot welding processes were proved to be true in this in-process monitoring system.
This paper is dealing with how to control of a client robot's movement for instructions from a server PC and a wireless andremote control Robot that sends the server information of images for monitoring. To implement this. 802.11x WLAN with TCP/IP socket programming is used to get the driving instructions from the server PC and control movements of the robot such as a forward, backward and directions. As well as this, ARM9 cored PAX255 embedded processor and Linux OS is used for the function transmitting BMP format of 320 ${\times}$ 240 pixel for stopped image data.
Early detection in real-time response of slope movements ensures tremendous saving of lives and repair costs from catastrophic disaster. Therefore, it is essential to constantly monitor the performance and integrity of slope-stabilizing structures such as Rock bolt, Nail and Pile during or after installation. We developed a novel monitoring system using Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) sensor. It's advantages are highly sensitivity, small dimension and electro-magnetic immunity. capability of multiplexing, system integrity, remote sensing - these serve real-time health monitoring of the structures. Real-time strain measurement by the signal processing program is shown graphically and it gives a warning sound when the monitored strain state exceeds a given threshold level so that any sign of abnormal disturbance on the spot can be easily perceived.
