  • Many poeple has been engaged in industry is aware of the dangers from exposure to high intensity nose levels. The exposure to high intensity noise is encountered in a large number of situations. Laws governing the safety and health of employed people being to create a suitable working environment and eliminate unsafety practices and processes. Work areas should be designed and laid out so that they are satisfactory both from the environmental and safety points of view. In this connection safety also implies that noise is kept at a level which is not likety to cause hearing damage. This study was performed to measure the noise of press and assembly process in an automobile factory. and suggested the method of noise control. Consequently the effect ways of reducing level in working environment are as follows; 1. Changes to machines which would reduce noise generation. 2. Alteration of equipment to avoid impact in machinery and handing materials. 3. Enclosure of noisy machines or machine parts. 4. Mounting of attenuators on gas and air outlets as well as ventilation ducts. 5. Erection of sound absorbing screens. linings. and baffles in work areas. 6. The personal ear protectors can be chosen to protect the workers.

  • Thrust vector control is the method which generates the side force and roll moment by controlling exhausted gas directly in a rocket nozzle. TVC is classified by mechanical and fluid dynamic methods. Mechanical methods can change the flow direction by several objects installed in a rocket nozzle exhaust such as tapered ramp tabs and jet vane. Fluid dynamic methods control the flight direction with the injection of secondary gaseous flows into the rocket nozzle. The tapered ramp tabs of mechanical methods are used in this paper. They installed at the rear in the rocket nozzle could be freely moved along axial and radial direction on the mounting ring to provide the mass flow rate which is injected from the rocket nozzle. TVC of the tapered ramp tabs has the potential to produce both large axial thrust and high lateral force. We have conducted the experimental research and flow analysis of ramp tabs to show the performance and the structural integrity of the TVC. The experiments are carried out with the supersonic cold flow system and the schlieren graph. This paper provides to analyze the location of normal shock wave and distribution of surface pressure on the region enclosed by the tapered ramp tabs.

  • The Fighter aircraft transmission system consists of a light weight, High Speed Flexible Coupling (HSFC) known as Power Take-Off shaft (PTO) for connecting Engine gearbox (EGB) with Accessory Gear Box (AGB). The HSFC transmits the power through series of specially contoured metallic annular thin flexible plates whose planes are normal to the torque axis. The HSFC operates at high speed ranging from 10,000 to 18,000 rpm. The HSFC is also catered for accommodating larger lateral and axial misalignment resulting from differential thermal expansion of the aircraft engine and mounting arrangement. The contoured titanium alloy flexible plates are designed with a thin cross sectional profile to accommodate axial and parallel misalignment by the elastic material flexure. This paper investigates the effect of misalignment on the transmission characteristics of the HSFC couplings. A mathematical model for the HSFC coupling with misalignment has been developed for analyzing the torque transmission and force interaction characteristics. An extensive testing has been conducted for validating characteristics of the designed coupling under various misalignment conditions. With this the suitability of the model adapted for the design iteration of HSFC development is validated. This method will reduce the design iteration cycles of HSFC and can be extended for the similar development of flexible couplings.

  • Cleaning by injecting dry ice and water is a generally adopted trend these days to clean molds (injection, diecasting foundry, press, rubber mold, etc). This cleaning method is performed manually, or by installing multiple high pressure spray nozzles. We have manufactured a turbine cleaning module device that is able to clean diecasting modules at any position and angle in the space by mounting an articulated robot instead of the existing pipe type injection nozzle, to minimize lead time and enhance working yield of the cleaning process. In this paper, we analyzed process factors that are required to design the turbine module by reviewing number of revolution, and results according to different blade angles and thicknesses of the mold release injection turbine module, using computational fiuid dynamics (CFD).

  • This paper presents the measurement and correction method of PCB alignment errors for PCB screen printer. Electronic equipment is getting smaller and yet must satisfy high performance standard. Therefore, there is a great demand for PCB with high density. However conventional PCB screen printer doesn't have enough accuracy to accommodate the demand fur high-resolution circuit pattern and high-density mounting capacity of electronic chips. It is because the alignment errors of PCB occur when it is loaded to the screen printer. Therefore, this study focuses on the development of the system which is able to measure and correct alignment errors with high-accuracy. An automatic optical inspection part measures the PCB alignment errors using machine vision, and the high-accuracy 3-axis stage makes correction for these errors. This system used two CCD cameras to get images of two fiducial marks of PCB. The geometrical relationship between PCB, cameras, and xy$\theta$ stage is derived, and analytical equations for alignment errors are also obtained. The unknown parameters including camera declining angles and etc. can be obtained by initialization process. Finally, the proposed algorithm is verified by experiments by using test bench.

  • As music of digital form has been widely used, many people have been interested in the automatic extraction of natural information of music itself, such as key of a music, chord progression, melody progression, tempo, etc. Although some studies have been tried, consistent and reliable results of musical information extraction had not been achieved. In this paper, we propose a method to extract chord and tempo information from general polyphonic music signals. Chord can be expressed by combination of some musical notes and those notes also consist of some frequency components individually. Thus, it is necessary to analyze the frequency components included in musical signal for the extraction of chord information. In this study, we utilize a sinusoidal modeling, which uses sinusoids corresponding to frequencies of musical tones, and show reliable chord extraction results of sinusoidal modeling. We could also find that the tempo of music, which is the one of remarkable feature of music signal, interactively supports the chord extraction idea, if used together. The proposed scheme of musical feature extraction is able to be used in many application fields, such as digital music services using queries of musical features, the operation of music database, and music players mounting chord displaying function, etc.

  • Password-based authentication using smart card provides two factor authentications, namely a successful login requires the client to have a valid smart card and a correct password. While it provides stronger security guarantees than only password authentication, it could also fail if both authentication factors are compromised ((1) the user's smart card was stolen and (2) the user's password was exposed). In this case, there is no way to prevent the adversary from impersonating the user. Now, the new technology of biometrics is becoming a popular method for designing a more secure authentication scheme. In terms of physiological and behavior human characteristics, biometric information is used as a form of authentication factor. Biometric information, such as fingerprints, faces, voice, irises, hand geometry, and palmprints can be used to verify their identities. In this article, we review the biometric-based authentication scheme by Cheng et al. and provide a security analysis on the scheme. Our analysis shows that Cheng et al.'s scheme does not guarantee any kind of authentication, either server-to-user authentication or user-to-server authentication. The contribution of the current work is to demonstrate these by mounting two attacks, a server impersonation attack and a user impersonation attack, on Cheng et al.'s scheme. In addition, we propose the enhanced authentication scheme that eliminates the security vulnerabilities of Cheng et al.'s scheme.

  • In this paper, the method of design of the waveguide band-pass filter and limiter in radar system is proposed. First, we design a self-resonant iris, which can behave as a band-pass filter by mounting the PIN diode on the iris. When low power microwave is incident on the proposed element, the element behaves as a band-pass filter. Under a high power microwave condition, however, the element behaves as a limiter having wide band stop characteristics. The fabricated element has a pass band with -0.7 dB insertion loss at 10 GHz under the low power condition and isolation about 25 dB under the high power condition.

  • Masticatory function is more important than esthetics in posterior fixed restoration. The usual technique-mounting the casts on a semi-adjustable articulator, etc. -cannot make all patients satisfied with their restorations. For example, functionally generated path technique can be an easier and more satisfactory method in the restoration of group function. These clinical reports describe various approaches for occlusal restoration of relatively simple posterior fixed protheses according to patients occlusal patterns. The 3-unit bridge restoration is one of the most popular treatment options in prosthodontics. Because dentists have much experiences of it, they restore a missing span of one tooth mechanically, that is, without special consideration. While esthetics is important in making an anterior 3-unit fixed prostheses, mastication is more focused on in posterior 3-unit bridge restoration. Many dentists are concerned about various aspects in esthetics, such as morphology of the tooth, value, chroma, hue, translucency, surface texture, etc. But they do not usually consider various methods to restore occlusion. They treat one-tooth-missing area in a similar way in spite of patients having variety of occlusal patterns. Three cases are presented here in 3 or 4-unit bridge restoration. They show some methods to restore patients' occlusal patterns.

  • The concrete work of bridge decks is performed in a high place, which may reduce safety and productivity. In addition, the conventional method for deck forms require a great deal of manpower, and a form (sheathing) board is damaged when removed after curing. As a result, the concrete deck work of bridge construction becomes the cause of delayed construction and increased cost. To solve these problems, SMART form, a system form, is developed. SMART form is a temporary device for easier installation and removal, by mounting it to the lower flange of a bridge girder and using a mechanical behavior of the form system for deck concrete pouring. For stable installation and removal of the developed SMART form, geometric behaviors should be analyzed to prove its validity. Furthermore, the validity of geometric behaviors when the SMART form size is altered in response to the various arrangement of bridge girders should be proved. Thus, the study is intended to analyze the geometric validity of the form system for bridge deck concrete pouring. The structural stability of the form system for bridge deck concrete pouring can be secured, which will be applied in the field.
