머신비전을 이용한 PWM Shaft의 자동검사 시스템 개발 (Development of an Automatic Inspection System for PWM Shaft Using Machine Vision)

  • In this paper, in order to overcome shortcomings of manual inspection for the automotive PWM Shaft, we developed an automated inline inspection system. The automated inline inspection system consists of the work feeder unit, conveying unit, outer diameter check unit, run-out and roundness check unit, machine vision, defective separation unit and status alarm unit. We used the machine vision system for automatic inspection process and designed the inline systems for automatic feeding and selecting process. Also the repeated operation test was performed in order to verify the precision and reliability of the proposed automated inline inspection system.

  • This paper is about a vision system that exhibits automatic examination of the conditions of shaft's worm. The system is composed of three part : image acquisition, vision algorithm, and user interface. The image acquisition part is composed of motor control, illumination and optics. The vision algorithm examines the parts using shaft image. User interface is divided into two parts, user interface for feature registering with control value settings and user interface for examination operation. The automatic inspection system introduced in this paper can be used as a tool for final examination of shaft worm.

회전 윤곽 상자를 이용한 표면 검사 알고리즘 (Surface Inspection Algorighm using Oriented Bounding Box)

  • DC motor shafts have several defects such as double cut, deep scratch on surface, and defects in diameter and length. The deep scratches are due to collision among the other shafts. So the scratches are long and thin but their orientations are random. If the smallest enclosing box, i.e. oriented bounding box for a detective point group is found, then the size of the corresponding defect can be modeled as its diagonal length. This paper proposes an suface inspection algorithm for the DC motor shaft using the oriented bounding box. To evaluate the proposed algorithm, a test bed is made with a line scan CCD camera (4096 pixels/line) and two rollers mechanism to rotate the shaft. The experimental result on a pre-processed image with contrast streching algorithm, shows that the proposed algorithm sucessfully finds 150 surface defects and its computation time (0.291 msec) is enough fast for the requirement (4 seconds).

The vision algorithm examines the parts by labeling algorithm using shaft image. User interface is divided into two parts, user interface for feature registering with control value settings and user interface for examination operation. The automatic inspection system of this research is a tool for final examination of shaft worm. This tool can be practically used in production lines with simple adjustments.

모터 샤프트 이중컷 불량 검사 알고리즘 (Inspection Algorithm for Double-Cut Defect of Motor Shaft)

  • 본 논문은 모터 샤프트 제조 공정에서 발생하는 이중컷 불량을 검사하기 위한 영상 처리 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 알고리즘은 영상의 밝기를 이용하여 외곽선을 추출하는 단계와 추출된 외곽선을 이용하여 이진화된 경계선 그래프를 구하는 단계, 최종적으로 이진화된 경계선 그래프를 이용하여 불량품을 판정하는 단계로 구성된다. 본 논문에서는 두 절단면이 분리되어 있는 결함과 두 절단면이 연결되어 있는 결함을 각각 type 1 결함과 type 2 결함이라고 정의하였다. 실제 제조 과정에서 112개의 양품과 44개의 불량품 (type 1 불량 34개 및 type 2 불량 10개) 샘플을 수집하였으며, 수집한 샘플을 이용하여 제안된 알고리즘을 검증하였다. 알고리즘 시험 결과 100% 정확도로 양품과 불량품을 판정하였으며, 불량품의 경우도 type 1 불량과 type 2 불량을 정확히 구분하는 것으로 확인되었다. 본 논문에서 제안한 알고리즘은 추가적으로 다양한 샘플에 대해 신뢰성을 확보한 후 실제 현장에 사용할 계획이다.

  • 자동차에 사용되는 전동식 워터펌프에 적용되는 모터는 CANNED TYPE의 모터 구조이다. 모터의 구동 부품인 로터는 플라스틱 사출물의 격벽 구조 내에 위치하며, 부동액에 침수되어 있는 상태로 회전을 하게 된다. 플라스틱 사출물 격벽 구조 외부에 Stator가 위치되어 Rotor가 회전이 가능하도록 한다. Rotor의 구성은 Magnet와 Core, Shaft로 구성되며, Magnet와 Core의 경우 부품 특성상 수분 침투에 부식되는 재질이기 때문에 부품의 기밀 유지는 매우 중요하다. 차량에 장착된 상태에서는 120도의 환경조건에서 구동이 가능하여야 하며, 내부압력이 1 Bar 이상의 압력에도 누수가 없어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 이 조건을 만족하여 개발된 전동식 워터펌프의 불량을 검사하기 위하여 헬륨을 이용한 Leak 검사 자동화 시스템을 설계 및 구현하였다.

  • The main objective of this paper is to develop the computer-aided vibrational signal processing and monitoring system of rotating machinery. This system has an automatic data acquisition capability and analyze for machine fault diagnosis. By spectrum analysis, machine’s failure can be identified. The monitoring system enables diagnosis of the fault in rotating machinery. In this study, the conventional electrical fans are selected as a model case. The date processing and fault monitoring system proposed here can be applied to the automation of the inspection process in assembling motor-shaft systems. The automatic inspection can enhance the product quality and keep it stable. Since the proposed system is developed for personal computers, it might be cheap in cost and easy in installation.

  • Robots that can move along the narrow and rough tube are very important as the request for the inspection increases. It is necessary for the inspection robots to have a capability to move successfully at even overturned situation and have a simple mechanism to reduce the unexpected failure possibility fer the successful completion of the given mission. Through this paper, the authors propose a novel and simple mechanism using a combination cam device to generate the locomotive motion of multi-legs. This robot uses one DC motor and one combination cam shaft to generate the locomotive motion and can move rough tubes without failure even at the overturned situation. The robot also shows enough fragging force fer the connected line that is very important for a wired inspection robot. Kinematics analysis to design the specification of the robot will be followed and several applications show this robot's potential capabilities.
