Establishing career goals and making a career choice is the most crucial task for college students. This study aims to identify the motive of college students' career choices and analyze the relationship between career capabilities and career decision-making in order to provide basic materials that can assist college students in the career decision-making process. To do this, a survey was conducted among college students attending a D university in Busan. A total of 326 survey responses were selected for analysis, and path analysis was conducted using SPSS 25 and AMOS 25. The results of the study are as follows. First, intrinsic motivation for career choice and extrinsic motivation for career choice were found to affect career consideration and career management capabilities, respectively, with statistical significance. Second, career consideration and career path management capabilities influenced both concreteness and confidence, which are elements of career decision-making with statistical significance. Intrinsic motivation for career choice and extrinsic motivation for career choice affected concreteness and confidence in career decision-making with career consideration and career management capabilities as parameters. These findings imply that in order to increase the concreteness and confidence in the career decision-making of undergraduate students, it is necessary to strengthen their career consideration and career management capabilities. As the unemployment rate of youths rises and the types and specialization of jobs increase amid uncertainty in the future employment conditions, undergraduate students face increasing difficulties in career decision-making. The results of this research are expected to be used as basic materials for the career decision-making of undergraduate students, which will assists in career path consultation and guidance in universities.

This paper attempts to investigate Korean youth Not in Education, Employment and Training (NEET) and how daily activities and community participation may influence their positive emotions and job search desire. First, we conducted a focus group interview with 16 NEETs who participated in the Kakao NEET Company project. The project allowed participants to experience employment by founding a virtual company in which each participant selected a daily activity to perform as part of the company's operations. Second, the interview responses were categorized and assigned emotional values using the card sorting technique and multi-dimensional analysis (MDS). A total of 11 emotional values were derived through this process. Finally, a social network analysis was conducted in order to measure the density of relations among the emotional values. Results suggest that immersion, confidence, belongingness were the three highest values evaluated by participants. Furthermore, network diagrams imply that the stronger participants perceived social support and belongingness with others, the stronger their responsibility grew, further leading them to establish steady goals. In particular, the high eigenvector score for "desire for job" suggests that emotional values are sequentially connected to the immersion-social support-responsibility-goal-job desire. This sequence suggests that digital services that are developed with the aim to enhance social values such as the Kakao NEET Project may engender motivation and confidence in youth NEETs. The overall results suggest that a systematic approach to policymaking should be considered in order to provide fundamental solutions and expand opportunities for social participation and emotional comfort, as social isolation due to low self-esteem has been reported as one of the reasons for NEETs' failure in the labor market.
Background: The purpose of this study was to confirm the major motivation for and self-efficacy of career decisions among dental hygiene students and to analyze differences in career decision self-efficacy according to the major motivation. Methods: An online survey was conducted among 194 dental hygiene students. To investigate career decision self-efficacy, 18 questions were posed, including 5 questions on future planning, 4 questions on self-evaluation, 4 questions on job information collection, 3 questions on goal setting, and 2 questions on problem solving. The survey was conducted using a 5-point scale. Results: The motives for choosing a major were a high employment rate (68.6%), a desire to become a professional (36.1%), according to aptitude (27.8%), recommendations by others (26.3%), and according to grades (12.9%). The career decision self-efficacy of the study participants was in the order of self-evaluation factors (3.75 points), problem solving factors a (3.62 points), job information collection factors (3.59 points), future planning factors (3.46 points), goal setting factors (3.44 points) score was high. The career decision self-efficacy scores were higher when the major motivation was "because I want to become a professional" and "because I think I have an aptitude for it." Conclusion: It is necessary to give students who wish to major in dental hygiene an opportunity to consider whether they have an aptitude for it by providing information on not only major subjects but also the duties and roles of dental hygienists. In addition, it is necessary to develop a career education program to help dental hygiene students set their career goals.
The purpose of this study is to explore various factors during the career development period affecting the formation of the perspective on work of young workers after they graduated from high school, and to analyze the influence of each factor. The panel data of the Korean Education Longitudinal Study 2005 was used for the study. Specifically, the data on the 303 employees in the 7th year(2011) of their employment was used. First, perspective of young workers on work was affected by social self (self-awareness-related variables), educational background of their father(family background-related variables), and intrinsic and extrinsic learning motivation(learning motivation-related variables) formed during the career development period. However, extrinsic learning motivation had a passive and negative effect on motivation and giving value to work. Second, the variables related to self-awareness in the career development period and the variables related to the family background were found to have a causal relationship with the formation of young workers' perspective on work. This study is significant in that the learning motives formed during the career development period are found to be very meaningful and important variables for the formation of young workers' perspective on work.

This investigation has been carried out for the purpose of the examination of current Gwangju and Jeonnam clinical pathology students' recognition of their departments and of effective employment guidance. Furthermore, it has examined the students' recognition on two sides; namely, their satisfaction with their own departments and their recognition of the employment of medical technologists. This investigation, with 389 students as its subjects from the clinical pathology departments at 4 universities in the Gwangju-Jeonnam Region, has compared and analyzed the data from the survey with a questionnaire from November 2008 to June 2009 by using the SPSS 12.0 package. Some of the remarkable results from the yielded data are as follows. As for the motivation for their application to the clinical pathology departments, the investigation of the students' satisfaction with their departments has revealed that 47.5% of the subjects indicated recommendation from friends or acquaintances while 22.1% reported that they had been informed of the departments through Internet. 70.4% of the subjects graduated from general high schools, 22.3% from commercial high schools, and 6.2% from technical high schools. Applicants from general high schools tend to decrease in number every year. 28.5% of the students judged professor's capability of lecture as an important part of their acquisition of licenses, and more than 65.6% of the subjects acknowledged the necessity of their self-study at night for the acquisition of license. As for the future prospect of the occupation of clinical technologist, 46.8% of the students replied that it was promising, while 39.1% reported that they had no ideas. From this we can confirm that the students of clinical pathology lacked a viewpoint of occupation and goals for future jobs. The investigation of the students'recognition of the employment of clinical technologists has revealed that 47.8% of them wanted to be employed in the Seoul-Gyeonggi Region due to the properties of their local universities, 29.0% of themlogpecteties of monesly salary to be 1,200,000~1,300,000 won, while 22.4% 1,300,000~1,400,000 won. Second, compensation and working conditions positively affected motivation. Third, motivation positively influenced job satisfaction. Fourth, communication positively influenced job satisfaction. Fifth, after adjusting the mediating effect, in the relationship between compensation and job satisfaction, it was proved that motivation was a complete mediator. Incase of the relationship between the working conditions and job satisfaction, motivation acted as a partial mediator.
