Objective: The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of dynamic postural balance control against tilting platform between golfers and non-golfers. Method: 24 golfers and 26 non-golfers were participated. Eight motion capture cameras, two force plates, and one dynamic balance control platform were used for sensory perception test. It was performed two-way repeated ANOVA with a Bonferroni adjustment at a significant level of a 0.05. Results: Golfers' perception ability was higher than non-golfer according to slope. the CoP, time, angle variables were indicated main effect and interaction effect between golfer and non-golfer. Conclusion: It was known that golfer's proprioception perception ability was higher than non-golfers. Repeated practice such as shots and putting on the uneven ground might improve their balance control.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the changes of sensory and visual perception of children with intellectual disabilities by conducting psychomotorik (psychomotor activity) in the forest and indoor treatment rooms. Accordingly, this study divided 18 children with intellectual disabilities living in the facility for persons with disabilities located in Seoul into three groups: the experimental group participating in psychomotorik in the forest, the comparative group participating in psychomotorik in the treatment room, and the control group without any treatment at all. The program was conducted for 32 weeks, 4 hours a month. The results showed that psychomotorik promoted the sensory and visual development of children with disabilities. Psychomotorik in the forest showed significant effects on touch and activity level, form constancy and eye-hand coordination. Psychomotorik in the treatment room showed significant improvement in figure-ground with reduced motion. This suggests that psychomotorik in the forest as well as indoors is a positive factor for sensory adaptation reaction and visual development of children with intellectual disabilities.

Notion sickness is well known to be caused by long time exposure to the very low frequency motion in the multiple axes of human body Since the vestibular system for the perception of low frequency motion is located in the head, accurate measurement of 6 degree of freedom head motion is of great importance. In this study, the measurement system consisting of a safety helmet and 9 translational accelerometers was constructed for the estimation of 3 translational and 3 rotational motions of human head. Since estimation errors of 3 rotational components can be significantly magnified even by small offset of the sensitivity axis from the geometric center of an accelerometer, accurate measurement of sensitivity axis must be preceded. The method for accurate estimation of the offset was proposed, and the effect of offset on the estimation of angular acceleration was investigated.
Excessive wind-induced motion in tall buildings can cause discomfort, affect health, and disrupt the daily activities of the occupants of a building. Dynamic vibration absorbers such as the tuned mass dampers (TMDs) can be used to reduce the wind-induced motion below a specified tolerable serviceability limit state (SLS) criterion. This study investigates whether the same probability of not exceeding specified wind-induced motion levels can be achieved by torsionally sensitive structures without/with linear/nonlinear TMDs subjected to partially correlated wind forces, if they are designed to just meet the same SLS criterion. For the analyses, different structures and the uncertainty in the response, wind load and perception of motion is considered. Numerical results indicate that for structures that are designed or retrofitted without or with optimum linear TMDs and satisfying the same SLS criterion, their probability of exceeding the considered criterion is very consistent, if the inherent correlation between the wind forces is considered in design. However, this consistency deteriorates if nonlinear TMDs are employed. Furthermore, if the correlation is ignored in the design, in many cases a slightly unconservative design, as compared to the designed by considering correlation, is achieved.

This paper introduces the autonomous vehicle Pharos, which participated in the 2010 Autonomous Vehicle Competition organized by Hyundai-Kia motors. PHAROS was developed for high-speed on/off-road unmanned driving avoiding diverse patterns of obstacles. For the high speed traveling up to 60 km/h, long range terrain perception, real-time path planning and high speed vehicle motion control algorithms are developed. This paper describes the major hardware and software components of our vehicle.

This paper describes the obstacle avoidance architecture to walk safely around in factory and home environment, and presents methods for path planning and obstacle avoidance for the humanoid robot. Solving the problem of obstacle avoidance for a humanoid robot in an unstructured environment is a big challenge, because the robot can easily lose its stability or fall down if it hits or steps on an obstacle. We briefly overview the general software architecture composed of perception, short and long term memory, behavior control, and motion control, and emphasize on our methods for obstacle detection by plane extraction, occupancy grid mapping, and path planning. A main technological target is to autonomously explore and wander around in home environments as well as to communicate with humans.
A three-dimensional windshield display (3D-WSD) can present driving information at the same depth as the objects in the outside scene. Herein, a super-multiview 3D-WSD is proposed because the super-multiview display technique provides smooth motion parallax. Motion parallax is the only physiological cue for perceiving the depth of a 3D image displayed at a far distance, which cannot be perceived by vergence and binocular parallax. A prototype system with 36 views was constructed, and the discontinuity of motion parallax and accuracy of depth perception were evaluated.
In this research, the physical education training quality was investigated using the entropy model to compute variance associated with a random value (a strong tool). The entropy and undefined estimation principles are used to extract the greatest entropy of information dependent on the index system. In the study of tennis motion tracking from a dynamic viewpoint, such stages are utilized to improve the perception of the players' achievement (Lv et al. 2020). Six female tennis players served on the right side (50 cm from the T point). The initial flat serve from T point was the movement under consideration, and the entropy was utilized to weigh all indications. As a result, a multi-index measurement vector is stabilized, followed by the confidence level to determine the structural plane establishment range. As a result, the use of the unascertained measuring technique of information entropy showed an excellent approach to assessing athlete performance more accurately than traditional ways, enabling coaches and athletes to enhance their movements successfully.
We develop a video processing method that allows the more advanced human perception oriented video coding. The proposed method necessarily reflects all influences by the rate-distortion based optimization and the human visual perception that is affected by the visual saliency, the limited space-time resolution and the regional moving history. For reflecting the human perceptual effects, we devise an online moving pattern classifier using the Hedge algorithm. Then, we embed the existing visual saliency into the proposed moving patterns so as to establish a human visual perception model. In order to realize the proposed human visual perception model, we extend the conventional foveation filtering method. Compared to the conventional foveation filter only smoothing less stimulus video signals, the developed foveation filter can locally smooth and enhance signals according to the human visual perception without causing any artifacts. Due to signal enhancement, the developed foveation filter more efficiently transfers the bandwidth saved at smoothed signals to the enhanced signals. Performance evaluation verifies that the proposed video processing method satisfies the overall video quality, while improving the perceptual quality by 12%~44%.

PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to examine the immediate changes in the weight-bearing ankle dorsiflexion range of motion (ROM) and the dynamic balance in asymptomatic subjects using the modified Star Excursion Balance Test (SEBT) after ankle balance taping (ABT) and placebo ABT with kinesiology tape METHODS: A total of 23 active participants (11 men, 12 women) volunteered for this study. Ankle flexibility was assessed using the weight-bearing lunge test, and dynamic balance was assessed using the modified SEBT. Participants were asked to respond to questions regarding their perception of stability, reassurance, and confidence when performing modified SEBT. RESULTS: The weight-bearing ankle dorsiflexion ROM did not show a significant decrease after real ABT or placebo ABT compared to the ROM prior to ABT. The anterior, posterolateral, and posteromedial reach distances of SEBT did not increase significantly after real ABT or placebo ABT compared to the distances prior to ABT. However, the participants' perception of stability, reassurance, and confidence, when performing SEBT with real ABT, was increased compared to that during the control trial. CONCLUSION: This study showed that although real ABT did not immediately improve the reach distances in the 3 directions during modified SEBT, it improved the participants' perception of stability, reassurance, and confidence without decreasing weight-bearing ankle dorsiflexion ROM.
