The field that studies human-computer interaction is called HCI (Human-computer interaction). This field is an academic field that studies how humans and computers communicate with each other and recognize information. This study is a study on hand gesture recognition for human interaction. This study examines the problems of existing recognition methods and proposes an algorithm to improve the recognition rate. The hand region is extracted based on skin color information for the image containing the shape of the human hand, and the center of gravity profile is calculated using principal component analysis. I proposed a method to increase the recognition rate of hand gestures by comparing the obtained information with predefined shapes. We proposed a method to increase the recognition rate of hand gestures by comparing the obtained information with predefined shapes. The existing center of gravity profile has shown the result of incorrect hand gesture recognition for the deformation of the hand due to rotation, but in this study, the center of gravity profile is used and the point where the distance between the points of all contours and the center of gravity is the longest is the starting point. Thus, a robust algorithm was proposed by re-improving the center of gravity profile. No gloves or special markers attached to the sensor are used for hand gesture recognition, and a separate blue screen is not installed. For this result, find the feature vector at the nearest distance to solve the misrecognition, and obtain an appropriate threshold to distinguish between success and failure.

This paper proposes a novel hidden Markov model (HMM)-based gesture recognition method and applies it to an HCI to control a computer game. The novelty of the proposed method is two-fold: 1) the proposed method uses a continuous streaming of human motion as the input to the HMM instead of isolated data sequences or pre-segmented sequences of data and 2) the gesture segmentation and recognition are performed simultaneously. The proposed method consists of a single HMM composed of thirteen gesture-specific HMMs that independently recognize certain gestures. It takes a continuous stream of pose symbols as an input, where a pose is composed of coordinates that indicate the face, left hand, and right hand. Whenever a new input Pose arrives, the HMM continuously updates its state probabilities, then recognizes a gesture if the probability of a distinctive state exceeds a predefined threshold. To assess the validity of the proposed method, it was applied to a real game, Quake II, and the results demonstrated that the proposed HMM could provide very useful information to enhance the discrimination between different classes and reduce the computational cost.
The importance of flexible polymer-based pressure sensors is growing in fields like healthcare monitoring, tactile recognition, gesture recognition, human-machine interface, and robot skin. In particular, health monitoring and tactile devices require high sensor sensitivity. Researchers have worked on sensor material and structure to achieve high sensitivity. A simple and effective method has been to employ three-dimensional pressure sensors. Three-dimensional (3D) structures dramatically increase sensor sensitivity by achieving larger local deformations for the same pressure. In this paper, the performance, manufacturing method, material, and structure of high-sensitivity flexible pressure sensors based on 3D structures, are reviewed.

Robust voice recognition (RVR) is essential for a robot to communicate with people. One of the main problems with RVR for robots is that robots inevitably real environment noises. The noise is captured with strong power by the microphones, because the noise sources are closed to the microphones. The signal-to-noise ratio of input voice becomes quite low. However, it is possible to estimate the noise by using information on the robot's own motions and postures, because a type of motion/gesture produces almost the same pattern of noise every time it is performed. In this paper, we propose an RVR system which can robustly recognize voice by adults and children in noisy environments. We evaluate the RVR system in a communication robot placed in a real noisy environment. Voice is captured using a wireless microphone. Navigation Strategy is shown Obstacle detection and local map, Design of Goal-seeking Behavior and Avoidance Behavior, Fuzzy Decision Maker and Lower level controller. The final hypothesis is selected based on posterior probability. We then select the task in the motion task library. In the motion control, we also integrate the obstacle avoidance control using ultrasonic sensors. Those are powerful for detecting obstacle with simple algorithm.

There is a Growing Interest in Motion Recognition for Recognizing Human Motion in Camera Images. As a Result, Researches are Being Actively Conducted to Control Digital Devices with Gestures at a Long Distance. The Interface Using Gesture can be Effectively Used in the Digital Signage Industry Where the Advertisement Effect is Expected to be Exposed to the Public in Various Places. Since the Digital Signage Contents can be Easily Controlled through the Non-contact Hand Operation, it is Possible to Provide the Advertisement Information of Interest to a Large Number of People, Thereby Providing an Opportunity to Lead to Sales. Therefore, we Propose a Digital Signage Content Control System Based on Hand Movement at a Certain Distance, which can be Effectively Used for the Development of Interactive Advertizing Media.

The purpose of this study is to develop the multi-modal interaction system. This system provides realistic and an immersive experience through multi-modal interaction. The system recognizes user behavior, intention, and attention, which overcomes the limitations of uni-modal interaction. The multi-modal interaction system is based upon gesture interaction methods, intuitive gesture interaction and attention evaluation technology. The gesture interaction methods were based on the sensors that were selected to analyze the accuracy of the 3-D gesture recognition technology using meta-analysis. The elements of intuitive gesture interaction were reflected through the results of experiments. The attention evaluation technology was developed by the physiological signal analysis. This system is divided into 3 modules; a motion cognitive system, an eye gaze detecting system, and a bio-reaction sensing system. The first module is the motion cognitive system which uses the accelerator sensor and flexible sensors to recognize hand and finger movements of the user. The second module is an eye gaze detecting system that detects pupil movements and reactions. The final module consists of a bio-reaction sensing system or attention evaluating system which tracks cardiovascular and skin temperature reactions. This study will be used for the development of realistic digital entertainment technology.
We propose an intelligent interface algorithm using hand gesture recognition information based on artificial intelligence. This method is functionally an interface that recognizes various motions quickly and intelligently by using MediaPipe and artificial intelligence techniques such as KNN, LSTM, and CNN to track and recognize user hand gestures. To evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm, it is applied to a self-made 2D top-view racing game and robot control. As a result of applying the algorithm, it was possible to control various movements of the virtual object in the game in detail and robustly. And the result of applying the algorithm to the robot control in the real world, it was possible to control movement, stop, left turn, and right turn. In addition, by controlling the main character of the game and the robot in the real world at the same time, the optimized motion was implemented as an intelligent interface for controlling the coexistence space of virtual and real world. The proposed algorithm enables sophisticated control according to natural and intuitive characteristics using the body and fine movement recognition of fingers, and has the advantage of being skilled in a short period of time, so it can be used as basic data for developing intelligent user interfaces.

In this paper, we propose a hand tracking and gesture recognition system. Our system employs a depth capture device to obtain 3D geometric information of user's bare hand. In particular, we build a flexible tracking volume and restrict the hand tracking area, so that we can avoid diverse problems caused by conventional object detection/tracking systems. The proposed system computes running average of the hand position, and tracking volume is actively adjusted according to the statistical information that is computed on the basis of uncertainty of the user's hand motion in the 3D space. Once the position of user's hand is obtained, then the system attempts to detect stretched fingers to recognize finger gesture of the user's hand. In order to test the proposed framework, we built a NUI system using the proposed technique, and verified that our system presents very stable performance even in the case that multiple objects exist simultaneously in the crowded environment, as well as in the situation that the scene is occluded temporarily. We also verified that our system ensures running speed of 24-30 frames per second throughout the experiments.
