This paper proposes an object detection algorithm using the Multiresolution Motion Estimation(MRME) in wavelet d야main. A existing motion estimation method has characteristics of motion estimation but it requires having computation. Motion estimation in higher resolution used the motion vector of the lower resolution with the MRME that has parent-child relationship on wavelet coefficients. This method reduces the search area of motion estimation in higher resolution and computational complexity. The computational complexity of the proposed method is about 40% of the existing method using 3-level Set Partitioning in Hierarchical Trees(SPIHT) wavelet transform. The experimental results with the proposed method showed about 11% decrease of Mean Absolute Difference(MAD) and gains able to precise tracking of object.
This paper implements a method that tracking the moving objects that detected by the motion detection function of the digital CCTV system. We simply implement the motion detection function of the digital CCTV system that use frame difference and thresholding. When motion is detected, the motion detection function generates two outputs. One output is the event that the motion is arised in input image frame. The other output is coordinate that motion is exists. Then, do the block matching algorithm[2] using coordinate, that motion is exists, as initial coordinate of the block matching algorithm. The best matched coordinate is new initial coordinate of the block matching algorithm for the next image frame. We simply use the block matching algorithm that implements tracking the moving objects. It is simple, but useful the actual digital CCTV system.

In this study, embodied supervisory system that apply motion detection technique to small web camera and detects watch picture. Motion detection technique that use pixel value of car image that use in existing need memory to store background image. Also, there is sensitive shortcoming at increase of execution time by data process of pixel unit and noise. Suggested technique that compare extracting motion information by block unit to do to have complexion that solve this shortcoming and is strong at noise. Because motion information by block compares block characteristic value of image without need frame memory, store characteristic cost by block of image. Also, can get effect that reduce influence about noise and is less sensitive to flicker etc.. of camera more than motion detection that use pixel value in process that find characteristic value by block unit.

Gait phase detection is important for evaluating the recovery of gait ability in patients with paralysis, and for determining the stimulation timing in FES walking. In this study, three different motion sensors(tilt sensor, gyrosensor and accelerometer) were used to detect gait events(heel strike, HS; toe off, TO) and they were compared one another to determine the most applicable sensor for gait phase detection. Motion sensors were attached on the shank and heel of subjects. Gait phases determined by the characteristics of each sensor's signal were compared with those from FVA. Gait phase detections using three different motion sensors were valid, since they all have reliabilities more than 95%, when compared with FVA. HS and TO were determined by both FVA and motion sensor signals, and the accuracy of detecting HS and TO with motion sensors were assessed by the time differences between FVA and motion sensors. Results show of that the tilt sensor and the gyrosensor could detect gait phase more accurately in normal subjects. Vertical acceleration from the accelerometer could detect HS most accurately in hemiplegic patient group A. The gyrosensor could detect HS and TO most accurately in hemiplegic patient group A and B. Valid error ranges of HS and TO were determined by 3.9 % and 13.6 % in normal subjects, respectively. The detection of TO from all sensor signals was valid in both patient group A and B. However, the vertical acceleration detected HS validly in patient group A and the gyrosensor detected HS validly in patient group B. We could determine the most applicable motion sensors to detect gait phases in hemiplegic patients. However, since hemiplegic patients have much different gait patterns one another, further experimental studies using various simple motion sensors would be required to determine gait events in pathologic gaits.
Recently, smart lighting systems are the combination between sensors and lights. These systems turn on/off and adjust the brightness of lights based on the motion of object and the brightness of environment. These systems are often applied in places such as buildings, rooms, garages and parking lot. However, these lighting systems are controlled by lighting sensors, motion sensors based on illumination environment and motion detection. In this paper, we propose an automatic lighting control system using one single camera for buildings, rooms and garages. The proposed system is one integration the results of digital image processing as motion detection, hand gesture detection to control and dim the lighting system. The experimental results showed that the proposed system work very well and could consider to apply for automatic lighting spaces.

Old movies are often corrupted by randomly located blotches and scratches. In this paper were present an efficient method for detection and removal of these distortions. The presented method is composed of two separate steps: the detection process and the restoration process. In the detection process, blotch locations are detected through global motion segmentation, the sequential approach to motion segmentation, a robust model-fit criterion and so on, we form the algorithm for the algorithm for the global motion segmentation tuned to the blotch detection problem. In the restoration process, the missing data of the detected blotch areas are temporally extrapolated from the corresponding image areas at the preceding or the succeeding image frame with considering the global motion segmentation results. We apply the presented method to moving image sequences distorted by artificial blotches. The method works very well and provides a subjective improvement of picture quality.

This work deals with automatic motion detection for with surveillance tracking that aims to provide high-lighting movable objects which is discriminated from moving backgrounds such as moving trees, etc. For this aim, we perform a false background region detection together with an initial foreground detection. The false background detection detects the moving backgrounds, which become eliminated from the initial foreground detection. This false background detection is done by performing the bimodal segmentation on a deformed image, which is constructed using the information of the dominant colors in the background.
A new technology on video frame rate up-conversion (FRUC) is presented by combining the median filter and motion estimation (ME) with an occlusion detection (OD) method. First, ME is performed to have a motion vector. Then, the OD method is used to refine motion vector in the occlusion region. Since the wrong motion vector can be obtained with high possibility in the occluded area, a median filtering that less depends on the motion vector is applied to that area, and since the motion vector is continuous and robust in the non-occluded area, BDMC(Bi-Directional Motion Compensated interpolation) is applied to obtain interpolated image in that area. BDMC using the bi-directional motion vectors achieves good results when continuity and robustness of the motion vector is higher. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm provides better performance than the conventional approach. The average gain of PSNR (Peak Signal to Noise Ratio) is approximately 0.16 dB in the test sequences compared with BDMC.
Please This paper presents method of video stabilization based on detection and adaptive motion smoothing filtering of undesirable motion. The proposed algorithm consists of two stages: the detection of undesirable motion and smoothing filtering of detected undesired motion. To incorporate desired properties into the motion smoothing process, the local maximum and the local minimum are defined in a set composed of the parameters of accumulative global motion. Using the local information, the constraints on detecting undesirable motions are defined. Based on these constraints, the alpha parameter of the alpha-trimmed means filter is adjusted, so that the degree of motion smoothing in the reconstructed video sequence is controlled. The experimental results demonstrated the capability of the proposed algorithm.

Currently, the world's elderly population continues to grow at a dramatic rate. As the number of senior citizens increases, detection of someone falling has attracted increasing attention for visual surveillance systems. This paper presents a novel fall-detection algorithm using motion estimation and an integrated spatiotemporal energy map of the object region. The proposed method first extracts a human region using a background subtraction method. Next, we applied an optical flow algorithm to estimate motion vectors, and an energy map is generated by accumulating the detected human region for a certain period of time. We can then detect a fall using k-nearest neighbor (kNN) classification with the previously estimated motion information and energy map. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can effectively detect someone falling in any direction, including at an angle parallel to the camera's optical axis.
