Morphological and Physical Properties of ONP Treated by CaCO3 In-situ Precipitation Method (탄산칼슘 in-situ precipitation 처리된 신문고지의 형태와 물성변화)

  • Replacing OMG (old magazine) to ONP (old newspaper) by raising optical property through $CaCO_3$ in-situ precipitation method in white duplex board presents cost reduction and possible drying energy saving. The strength property impairment by the presence of $CaCO_3$ could be supplemented by the fiber furnish treatment or strength polymer addition. In $CaCO_3$ in-situ precipitation of ONP, it was found from morphological study using FlowCAM, an image analyzer, that most of calcium carbonate were formed on the fines, and made the size of the fines larger. For the case of forming calcium carbonate only on the fractionated fines, the size of the fines were the biggest, and there were more clean surface areas available for bonding for the fractionated long fibers when fractionated fibers and fines were regrouped to make paper.

Synthesis of Hydroxyapatite Using a Cationic Surfactant (양이온성 계면활성제를 이용한 수산화인회석 합성)

  • Hydroxyapatite (HAP) containing hexadecyltrimethylammonium chloride (CTAC) as a cationic surfactant was prepared by a precipitation method. X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and micropore physisorption analyzer were used for characterizing the crystal phase, morphology and specific surface area of HAP and CTAC-HAP. After thermal treatment, the specific surface area of both pure HAP and CTAC-HAP were reduced. The sharp rod morphology of CTAC-HAP was changed into a round shape with a smaller aspect ratio after the heat treatment. The morphological change by thermal treatment was also observed in pure HAP. Therefore, the morphological change and decrease of the specific surface area suggested that pores from the removal of CTAC during thermal treatment were not retained.

A Robust Pattern-based Feature Extraction Method for Sentiment Categorization of Korean Customer Reviews (강건한 한국어 상품평의 감정 분류를 위한 패턴 기반 자질 추출 방법)

  • Many sentiment categorization systems based on machine learning methods use morphological analyzers in order to extract linguistic features from sentences. However, the morphological analyzers do not generally perform well in a customer review domain because online customer reviews include many spacing errors and spelling errors. These low performances of the underlying systems lead to performance decreases of the sentiment categorization systems. To resolve this problem, we propose a feature extraction method based on simple longest matching of Eojeol (a Korean spacing unit) and phoneme patterns. The two kinds of patterns are automatically constructed from a large amount of POS (part-of-speech) tagged corpus. Eojeol patterns consist of Eojeols including content words such as nouns and verbs. Phoneme patterns consist of leading consonant and vowel pairs of predicate words such as verbs and adjectives because spelling errors seldom occur in leading consonants and vowels. To evaluate the proposed method, we implemented a sentiment categorization system using a SVM (Support Vector Machine) as a machine learner. In the experiment with Korean customer reviews, the sentiment categorization system using the proposed method outperformed that using a morphological analyzer as a feature extractor.

Morphological Analysis with Adjacency Attributes and Phrase Dictionary (접속 특성과 말마디 사전을 이용한 형태소 분석)

  • This paper presents a morphological analysis method for the Korean language. The characteristics and adjacency information of the words can be obtained from sentences in a large corpus. Generally a word can be analyzed to a result by applying the adjacency attributes and rules. However, we have to choose one from the several results for the ambiguous words. The collected morpheme's adjacency attributes and relations with neighbor words are recorded in a well designed dictionaries. With this information, abbreviated words as well as ambiguous words can be almost analyzed successfully. Efficiency of morphological analyzer depends on the information in the dictionaries. A morpheme dictionary and a phrase dictionary have been designed with lexical database, and necessary information extracted from the corpus is stored in the dictionaries.

  • Recently, personal robots and home robots are developing by many companies and research groups. It is considered that a general effective interface for user of those robots is speech or voice. In this paper, Japanese speech based man-machine interface system is discussed for reflecting the fuzziness of natural language on robots, by using fuzzy reasoning. The present system consists of the derivation part of action command and the modification part of the derived command. In particular, a unique problem of Japanese is solved by applying the morphological analyzer ChaSen. The proposed system is applied for the motion control of a robot manipulator. It is proved from the experimental results that the proposed system can easily modify the same voice command to the actual different levels of the command, according to the current state of the robot.

  • 형태소 분석기의 처리 속도는 분석 알고리즘과 형태소 사전의 탐색 기법에 따라 크게 좌우된다. 형태소 분석 성능의 향상을 위하여 많은 형태소 분석 방법이 제안되었으며, 음절 정보를 이용하는 형태소 분석기는 한국어 음절의 통계적 특성 정보를 이용함으로써, 분석 후보의 개수를 최대한 적게 하여 처리 속도를 향상시켰다. 본 논문은 형태소 분석시 발생하는 분석 후보들의 특성을 고려하여 사전 탐색 요구시 가장 많은 처리 시간을 필요로 하는 디스크 읽기 횟수를 줄일 수 있도록 음절별 블록 인덱싱한 사전 구성 방법을 제안한다. 이 방법은 형태소 사전을 첫 음절별로 블록화하고 인덱싱하여 3개의 추가적인 인덱스 테이블을 구축하는 사전 구성 방법으로, 인덱스 테이블을 모두 주기억장치에 적재하였을 때에는 평균 61.6%, 크기가 작은 두 개의 인덱스 테이블만 주기억장치에 적재하였을 때에는 평균 25%의 디스크 읽기 횟수를 줄일 수 있다.

A Study of Characteristics of Weft Used in Wig Manufacturing (가발에 사용되는 원사의 특성 연구)

  • This study was used a thermogravimetric analyzer to determine thermal characteristics, a hair analysis system to examine morphological changes of wefts-human hair, poly vinyl chloride(PVC) and polyethylene terephthalate (PET)-used in manufacturing wigs. According to a flammability test on human hair and synthetic wefts for wigs, the best results were observed in human hair. According to a thermal test, PET was the best in terms of thermal stability. Also good tensile strength was observed as well. In a scanning electron microscope observation, no human hair scale layer was found because of chemical treatment. In the PVC sample, homogeneous unevenness was observed. Due to a lack of human hair supply and increase in its price, recently, PET weft has emerged as a great substitution for human hair. Because it can be curled using an electric curling device and is more efficient than the conventional non-flammable material PVC in terms of thermal resistance, it will become the next-generation weft for wigs.

Implementation of Korean TTS System based on Natural Language Processing (자연어 처리 기반 한국어 TTS 시스템 구현)

  • In order to produce high quality synthesized speech, it is very important to get an accurate grapheme-to-phoneme conversion and prosody model from texts using natural language processing. Robust preprocessing for non-Korean characters should also be required. In this paper, we analyzed Korean texts using a morphological analyzer, part-of-speech tagger and syntactic chunker. We present a new grapheme-to-phoneme conversion method for Korean using a hybrid method with a phonetic pattern dictionary and CCV (consonant vowel) LTS (letter to sound) rules, for unlimited vocabulary Korean TTS. We constructed a prosody model using a probabilistic method and decision tree-based method. The probabilistic method atone usually suffers from performance degradation due to inherent data sparseness problems. So we adopted tree-based error correction to overcome these training data limitations.

  • When an ending which begins with 'a/a'combines to a stem,'a/a'can be deleted.Especially when ot combines to an h-irregular verb,it is represented as a variant like '-a-','-e-','-ia-',or'-ie-'.In order to analyze the variants of 'a/a',we suggest the format of a grammatical morpheme dictionary which is represented as a binary tree and several procedures which process the variants so that the unexpected errors can be removed which occur frequently when we analyze Korean worl phrase.

  • 형태소 분석 단계는 자연어 처리 과정의 첫 번째 단계로써 주어진 입력 어절들에 대한 형태소들의 조합을 추출하는 일을 한다. 형태소 분석 시스템의 기본적인 기능은 매우 중요하여 적용되는 형태소 분석 알고리즘에 따라 형태소 분석 시스템의 성능에 영향을 미친다. 그러나 형태소 분석 시스템, 구문 분석 시스템 및 의미 분석 시스템이 연계되어 하나의 자연어 처리 시스템이 구축되는 관점에서는 구문분석 시스템의 부담을 줄여 전체 시스템의 효율을 향상시키기 위하여 구문 분석 시스템의 입력에 적합한 형태소 분석 결과를 생성해주는 일 또한 형태소 분석 시스템의 중요한 역할이라 할 수 있다. 본 시스템은 최장일치법을 이용한 형태소 분석 방법으로 입력 어절에 대한 형태소 분석을 수행하는 동안 분석 후보의 개수를 줄이고 사전 탐색 시간을 줄여준다. 또한 구문분석 시스템의 입력에 적절한 형태소 분석 결과를 생성하여 전체 응용 시스템의 효율성을 향상시킨다.
