육류 기피에 미치는 동물에 대한 도덕관념, 질감, 색깔과 포만감의 영향 평가 (Assessing the Effect of Moral Concerns for Animals, Texture, Color and Satiety on Meat Avoidance)

  • The purpose of this study was to assess the effects of moral concerns for animals, meat texture, color in meat and satiety from meat on meat avoidance, and to assess the effect of meat avoidance on meat consumption. A total of 250 questionnaires were completed. Structural equation model was used to measure the causal effects of constructs. Results of the study demonstrated that fit of the restricted model is significantly worse than that of the unrestricted model, in which more parameters are estimated. The effects of moral concerns for animals, meat texture, and satiety from meat on meat avoidance were statistically significant. The effect of meat avoidance on meat consumption was statistically significant. Moreover, meat avoidance played a mediating role in the relationship between moral concerns for animals and meat consumption. Meat avoidance also played a mediating role in the relationship between satiety from meat and meat consumption. This study suggested that the consumer decision-making process for meat products is best modeled as a complex system that incorporates both direct and indirect effects on meat consumption. This study believed the evidence presented supports this position. Moreover, this study appeared to be a worthy area of pursuit.

  • The purpose of this study was to measure the causal relationships among such variables as moral concerns for animals, meat texture, meat color, satiety from meat, disgust with meat and pork consumption. A total of 250 questionnaires were completed. Structural equation models were used to measure the causal effects of the constructs. The study outcomes demonstrated that the structural analysis results of the data were an excellent model fit. The effects of moral concerns for animals, meat texture and satiety from meat on the disgust with meat were statistically significant. As expected, disgust with meat had a significant effect on pork consumption. Moreover, moral concerns for animals and satiety from meat had a significant indirect effect on pork consumption through disgust with meat. Also, satiety from meat alone had a significant indirect effect on pork consumption through disgust with meat. By developing and testing conceptual models that integrated the relationships among ideational variables, sensory affective variables, anticipated consequences variables, emotional variables, and behavioral variables, this study may approach a deeper understanding of the complex relationships among pork consumption-related variables. A greater understanding of these complex relationships can improve the managerial diagnosis of problems as well as opportunities for different marketing strategies, including pork production and pork product development, and marketing communications.

  • The purpose of this study is to measure the effects of disgust with meat mediating the factors influencing pork consumption. The total of 250 questionnaires were completed. The structural equation model was used to measure the causal effect among constructs. The results demonstrated that the confirmatory factor analysis model provided an excellent model fit. The unrestricted model yielded a significantly better fit to the data than the restricted model. The effects of moral concerns for animals, meat texture and satiety from meat except for color in meat and negative body esteem on disgust with meat were statistically significant. As expected, disgust with meat had a significant effect on pork consumption. Moreover, moral concerns for animals, meat texture and satiety from meat had indirect influence on pork consumption. The overall findings offer strong empirical support for the intuitive notion that improving the level of disgust with meat can increase favorable pork consumption intentions and decrease unfavorable intentions.

Moreover, disgust with meat played a mediating role in the relationship between moral concerns for animals and meat consumption. Disgust with meat played a mediating role in the relationship between satiety from meat and meat consumption. Disgust with meat did not play a mediating role in the relationship between color in meat and meat consumption. Disgust with meat did not play a mediating role in the relationship between body esteem and meat consumption. In conclusion, based on structural analysis, a model was proposed of interrelations among constructs. It should be noted that the original model was modified and should, preferably, be validated in future research.

  • Nguyễn Huy Thiệp is a pillar in Vietnamese cultural life after the Second Indochina War, and the fates of men and women at the beginning of Đổi mới (Renovation) is one of the prominent themes in his short stories. To show off sexual power, seek glory, and maintain his dominant position, Thiệp's heroes engage in a game of oppressing the weak, hunting animals, and harassing women. However, due to the complex changes in social life, moral values, and gender inequality, men in the postwar period quickly experienced the feeling of humiliation, impotence, and failure. In turn, the sophisticated aspects of masculinity demonstrate the cultural and ethical concerns of contemporary Vietnamese society. By exploring the multidimensional nature of masculinity expressed in Thiệp's stories, this study aims to resolve misconceptions about gender and the relationship between men and women in his work.

황윤석 시조의 교술적 성격과 작가 의식 (A study of the didactic character of Huang Yunseok's sijo and it's implications for his poetic intentions)

  • 이 논문에서는 조선 후기 사대부 시조에서 중요한 위치를 차지하는 황윤석 시조의 성격과 그 작품에 나타난 작가 의식을 논의했다. 사실을 제시하거나 교훈을 내리는 내용을 표현함으로써 황윤석 시조는 교술적 성격을 가지게 되었다. 사실의 중심 내용은 군주의 격려, 군주의 생일과 기일, 벼슬 제수 등 군은 관련 사항과 선산의 풍수적 빼어남, 선조의 훌륭한 행적, 가문의 아름다운 전통, 작가의 출생지, 태몽 등 집안 관련 사항들로 되어 있다. 교훈의 중심 내용은 유교 학문의 목적, 성선설의 입장, 인간 심성의 특성, 심성 수양의 방법 등 심성 수양 관련 사항과 오륜, 부부유별, 남녀유별 등 유교 실천 윤리 관련 사항들로 되어 있다. 황윤석은 시조에서 정치, 경제적으로 상승하려는 의식과 이념을 지향하는 의식을 표현했다. 정치적 참여의 기회를 부여한 군주에 대한 절대적 충성을 보이거나 치국이나 평천하의 준비를 갖춘 가문에 대한 자랑을 하는 과정에서 상승 지향적 의식을 드러냈고, 주로 유교 윤리의 철저한 실천이나 전통 성리학의 고수, 인물성동논의 주장으로 현실적 문제를 극복하고자 한데서 이념 지향 의식을 드러냈다. 정치ㆍ경제적 상승과 이념 지향적 작자 의식의 작용으로 작품은 교술적 성격을 상당 부분 가지게 되었고, 사실의 전달과 가르침의 제시라는 교술적 효과를 높이려는 과정에서 직설적 표현의 방법을 선택했다.

'천지공사'의 종교윤리적 의미에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Religious-Ethical Meaning of 'Reorganizing the order of Heaven and Earth' in the Scripture of Daesoonjinrihoe)

  • The purpose of this study is to research the religious-ethical meaning of the scripture (Jeongyung, 典經) of Daesoonjinrihoe, one of religious orders in Korea. It is 'the reorganizing in the order of heaven and earth' (ROHE, 天地公事)that the believers of Daesoonjinrihoe regard as the essence and basis of their religious belief in Jeongyung, and so I focus on it in this paper. And I have applied the method of religious ethics that recognize the relation religion and morality for understanding religious-ethical meaning of moral principles and norms. In the process of this study I have selected a lot of moral principles, norms and activities in ROHE, and sorted them with their social context of ROHE. In this research I have found some characteristics of ethical norms in the ROHE according to three divisions of ethical category such as personal, social and natural ethics. The understanding of mind is an important point of personal ethic in the ROHE. The mind is understood as the subject and object of personal ethical attitude and volition. So one could have ethical attitude by oneself with mind as subject, and reflect and correct on his ethical faults with the mind as ethical object. The distinctiveness of social ethic in the ROHE is special concerns to the weak at that time such as sick person, illegitimate children, shamans, farmhands and etc. This is a logical consequence of the ethical altruism of the ethic of mutual beneficence(相生) and the dignity of human(人尊) in ROHE. And the ethics of mutual beneficence is applied to natural ethic of ROHE. Since natural world including all sort of plants and animals is intimately related to the human worlds, so it is a desirable attitude for to accommodate to the changes of nature. Even if these characteristics of ethics in ROHE are justified by the religious beliefs, the norms from them are available in our religious pluralistic societies, since they have common ethical values of other religious ethics. It is my concluding remark that religious orders or denominations have to offer a lot of moral norms suitable to religious pluralistic situation. Because it is needed for our society to conquer various sort and kind conflicts among religions, and to act harmoniously together for public peace.
