  • We report the current status of Japanese lunar exploration SELENE (SELenological and ENgineering Explorer). As of the end of 2004, scientific instruments onboard the Main Orbiter are under final checkout before they are provided to the proto-flight-model (PFM) integration test. Also, we present the future perspectives of the lunar based instruments and facilities. 'In-situ Lunar Orientation Mea-surement (ILOM)' experiment measures the lunar rotation with high accuracy by tracking stars on the Moon with a small photo-zenith-tube type optical telescope. A basic idea of a radio telescope array of very low frequency range on the lunar far-side is also mentioned.

  • Preparing for future Korean Lunar missions, preliminary Lunar mission design software is developed using a impulsive thrusting method. Developed software is capable of design and analysis every required mission phases to design Lunar mission, including the Earth departure, Lunar transfer, Lunar arrival and mission operation phases. Also, assuming that KSLV-II is selected as a launch vehicle, future Korean Lunar explorer's mass budget is estimated based on driven optimal trajectory characteristics. Tracking analysis is also performed using Deep Space Network including angle geometry analysis between Earth - Moon - Lunar explorer - Sun which are very important for communication, solar panel pointing strategy and eclipse analysis when Lunar missions are under designing phase.

  • Recently, with improvement of internet service technology, web service has been affecting the environment for computing user. Not only current events, economics, game, entertainment, but also personal financial system is processed by web pages through internet. When data transmission is implemented on the internet, webpage acquire text form code and transform them to DOM information, and then shows processed display to user by web browser. However, those information are not only easily accessed by diversified route, but also easily deformed by intentional purpose. Furthermore, it is also possible to acquire logon information of users and certification information by detouring security mechanism. Therefore, this dissertation propose the method to verify integrity of web contents by using BHO which is one of the Add-On program based on MS Internet Explorer platform which is one of major web browser program designed by MicroSoft to detect any action of webpage deformation.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the microleakage in class II cavity resin restorations used with resin-modified glass ionomer (RMGI) lining material depending on two different applying methods; classical delivery method using a dental explorer and a specially designed rotating bur. Materials and Methods: A total thirty-six extracted teeth were prepared with a class II proximal box, and randomly divided into three groups: 1) control group with no lining added and the proximal box restored (Group I), 2) the second group used RMGI as a lining material which was spread with an explorer (Group II), 3) the third group used a specially designed rotating bur to thin out RMGI (Group III). All teeth were restored with the same manner using incrementally placed resin composite. All 36 teeth were prepared and sectioned for the dye penetration test, and observed with a stereomicroscope for scoring the dye penetration. Results: When RMGI liners were used, both groups using an explorer and the special bur with the liner had significantly less microleakage than the control group with no liner (P < 0.05). The 50% of the group with RMGI liner using the bur showed no microleakage under a dye penetration test whereas all the teeth in control group showed microleakage of different degrees. However, there was no statistically significant difference between Group II and Group III. Conclusion: RMGI is an effective lining material to decrease microleakage in class II composite resin restorations regardless of applying methods.

  • The latest development of the submarine oil field and the deep-sea explorer, FPSO is commonly proposed and used for offshore oil production. And because the fundamental requirement of FPSOs to remain moored at their position, they are unable to avoid severe weather and environment. FPSO normally operates head to the weather, and sensitive equipment located the exposed area will be influenced by green water damages, the damages may occur to both onboard equipment and topside structures with resulting risk to personnel. In this paper, the main focus considers the physical structures of green water protector in order to preserve topside structures, equipment and personnel from green water.

  • On-Board computers (OBC) for LEO & GEO satellites have been developed with their own dedicated architecture so far even though they have many similar functionalities. In this paper, we present a conceptual study results of standard OBC architecture design and propose the domestic development plan for the next generation satellite OBC. Proposed architecture is highly flexible and can be used at LEO/MEO/GEO and Moon Explorer/Deep Space Probe. Also, we introduce current status of standard OBC which is under development.

  • The suggested paper studies communications network and system technology, designing data to sync to both USB memories and cloud storages at the same time, which would allow users to safely keep and manage data even in case of network troubles, affecting cloud storages, and/or loss of physical USB memories, resulting in lost data in the physical memory. The need of secure data management policy for cloud storage users form the basis of this study, offering solutions to network failures and loss of physical storage by creating hybrid cloud system. To provide convenience to windows users, the UI design should integrate that of windows explorer to maximize security and convenience.

  • The main-belt asteroid (5247) Krylov is known as a Non-Principal Axis (NPA) rotator. However, the shape model and spin state of this asteroid were not revealed. The physical model of an asteroid including spin state and shape is regarded to be important to understand its physical properties and dynamical evolution. Thus, in order to reconstruct the physical model of Kryolv, we applied the light curve inversion method using not only the optical light curves observed with ground-based telescopes in three apparitions during 2006, 2016, and 2017, but also the infrared light curves obtained with the Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer (WISE) in 2010. We found that it is rotating in Short Axis Mode (SAM) with the rotation and precession periods of 368.71 hr and 67.277 hr, respectively. The orientation of the angular momentum vector is (298°, -58°) in the ecliptic coordinate system. The ratio of moments of inertia of the longest axis to the shortest axis is Ia/Ic = 0.36; the ratio of moments of inertia of the intermediate axis to the shortest axis is Ib/Ic = 0.96. Finally, the excitation level of this asteroid is found to be rather low with a ratio of the rotational kinetic energy to the basic spin state energy as E/E0 ≃ 1.024. We will briefly discuss the possible evolutionary process of Krylov in this presentation.

  • Over 60 years has passed since mankinds started space exploration beyond the Earth with lunar explorer Luna 1 launched by Soviet Union. Unprecedently remarkable outcomes have been obtained by sending unmanned spacecrafts to most planets in the solar system and having the lander landed on the approaching comet toward the Earth even though any evidence of life presence has not been discovered yet. Only moon is an natural object beyond the earth on which human beings landed. Many countries are planning to send humans to the moon or mars to build colonies and to survive with substantiality. Korean lunar exploration program has officially started as of 2016 after its plan including lunar exploration has been specified in the series of National Space Promotion Plan since Korea initiated space development in early 1990s. In this paper, the plan for Korean space exploration is summarized with reviewing overseas space exploration program status and trends.
