In this paper, the injection molding process of automotive seat-back cover is analyzed in terms of simulation and of experiment. FE analysis was used to obtain molding conditions such as injection pressure, filling pattern, packing, shrinkage. Vacuum system for low pressure injection molding is developed in the experiment. Low pressure injection molded parts have been compared with conventional molded parts in terms of molding quality and mechanical properties. Based on the results, good product and the productivity improvement can be obtained in low pressure injection molding for automotive seat-back cover.

The injection molding is very effective process for various plastic products due to its high productivity. It is also good fur precise products like optical parts. Various thermoplastic materials are also available with this injection molding process. In recent, however, as the overall size of the product increases and micro or nano scale of patterns are applied to the products, we now have some problems such as low fidelity of the replication of the pattern, high molding pressure, or warpage from the in-mold stress. Injection/compression molding is studied to overcome those problems in molding large thin plate with micro pattern array on its surface. An injection compression mold is designed to 3 pieces mold for side gate. We install 4 pressure transducers and 9 thermocouples to measure the melt pressure and surface temperature in the cavity during the process. As a result, the maximum molding pressure for injection compression molding is reduced to 1/3 compared to injection molding and the uniformity of the pressure in the cavity is enhanced by about 15%.
The molding pressure is also one of the important parameters in the preparation of HTSC materials by the solid state reaction method. In the present study, changes in structural, electrical and microstructural proper-ties with the molding pressure in YiB $a_{2}$C $u_{3}$$O_{70{\delta}}$ superconductors have been performed. The investigated molding pressures were 0.5*10$^{3}$ N/c $m^{2}$, 1*10$^{3}$ N/c $m^{2}$, 2*10$^{3}$ n/c $m^{2}$ and 4*10$^{3}$ N/c $m^{2}$. As the molding pressure increased, the anisotropy of the crystal structure decreased and the grains have been grown preferentially in a c-axis direction. Since the size of the grain becomes larger with the decrease of the porosity, denser textures are formed. The results indicated that the critical current density is improved resulting from the enhanced densification due to higher molding pressure. When the molding pressure was between 1*10$^{3}$ N/c $m^{2}$ and 2*10$^{3}$ N/c $m^{2}$, while it did not affect the oxygen deficiency and Tc, the increase of the molding pressure affects remarkably on grain size and densification of the $Y_{1}$B $a_{2}$C $u_{3}$$O_{7-{\delta}}$. When the molding pressure is larger than 2*10$^{3}$ N/c $m^{2}$, electrical proper-ties are independent on the molding pressure..

Injection molding process factors such as molding temperature, injection pressure, flow rate and flow velocity, must be controlled properly in filling and packing phases in the injection molding process. In this study, effects of these factors on the injection molding were investigated through the flow analysis for the filling and packing phases. Molding troubles like flow mark weld line, sink ma가 short shot and warpage car be caused by these injection molding process factors. Among them the short shot was caused by the fact that the packing pressure could not reach properly to the filling end part in the packing phase and hence the flow rate could not be supplied to the full. In addition as the flow rate for the volumetric shrinkage during the f개zen phase could not be supplied Properly by the packing pressure, the short shot appeared. Here, the volumetric shrinkage reduced with increasing the packing pressure and also the warpage of molded part increased with increasing the packing Pressure.
In injection molding, the quality of an injection molded product varies greatly depending on the molding conditions. Many researche studies have been conducted on the quality analysis of molded parts according to the molding conditions such as injection pressure, injection temperature, and packing pressure. However, there have not been many studies on the V/P switchover timing. It is known that when a large pressure is applied to a cavity in the packing phase, the cavity pressure is most affected by the packing pressure. In addition, depending on the position (timing) of the packing pressure, it can have a direct influence on quality based on the shrinkage and dimensions of the molded parts. In this study, the change in pressure profile in the cavity according to the V/P switchover position is confirmed. A CAE analysis program (Moldflow) was used to simulate and analyze two models using the PC and PBT materials. In order to compare these results with the actual injection molding results, injection molding was performed for each V/P switchover position, and the correlation between simulation and experiment, especially for the shrinkage of molded parts, was evaluated.

There occur not only many problems in the injection process but also low quality productivity due to the injection conditions of various injection factors. Injection molding process factors such as molding temperature, injection pressure, flow rate and flow velocity, must be controlled properly in filling and packing phases in the injection molding process. In this study, effects of these factors on the injection molding were investigated through the flow analysis for the holding pressure affecting cooling time. Results of this study would be helpful to setting of holding pressure for optimization of forming condition in order to reduce cooling time in injection molding.

This paper describes the effect of various molding pressure for Mode I. Mode II interlaminar fracture toughness of carbon fiber reinforced plastic composites by using double cantilever beam(DCB), end notched flexure(ENF) and end loaded split(ELS) Specimen. The value of $G_{IC}$, $G_{IIC}$ as a function of various molding pressure is almost same at 307, 431, 585 kPa, however it shows highest value under 307kPa molding pressure, The SEM photographs show good fiber distribution and interfacial bonding of composites when the molding pressure is the 307kPa.

Pressure distribution in the cavity during injection molding affects part quality. In this study pressure distributions in the runner, near gate in the cavity, and end of ail in the cavity have been measured using direct pressure sensors for various molding conditions. Molding conditions were injection speed, injection pressure, packing time from filing stage, and packing pressure. Through experiments it was realized that the packing time from filling stage and packing pressure are the dominant factors on the part quality such as part shrinkage. Experimental results have been compared with computer simulations.

This study investigated the microstructure and wear resistance property of HPHT(high pressure high temperature) sintered PDC(polycrystalline diamond compact) in accordance with initial molding pressure. After quantifying an identical amount of diamond powder, the powder was inserted in top of WC-Co sintered material, and molded under four different pressure conditions (50, 100, 150, $200kgf/cm^2$). The obtained diamond compact underwent sintering in high pressure, high temperature conditions. In the case of the $50kgf/cm^2$ initial molding pressure condition, cracks were formed on the surface of PDC. On the other hand, PDCs obtained from $100{\sim}200kgf/cm^2$ initial molding pressure conditions showed a meticulous structure. As molding pressure increased, low Co composition within PDC was detected. A wear resistance test was performed on the PDC, and the $200kgf/cm^2$ condition PDC showed the highest wear resistance property.
