  • Permanent-Form is one of system forms for reducing human labor, work costs, oscillation, noise, construction wastes and so on. Permanent-Form is made from precast method in facilities. and carried in construction site to assemble with no demolding. The biggest expense to produce Permanent-Form is about manufacturing mold. To satisfy various size of building member, the same number of manufacturing mold is needed. In this paper, studied about manufacturing mold module for acquiring economic merit and construction member safety. Permanent-Form is member stress and structural analyzed if temporary equipment were used. The result of this study is below. (1) Column sizes of Permanent-Form are 47 kinds of prototype that based on Modular coordination's basic module. 4 pieces or 6 pieces are composed basically. (2) For beam size modular coordination, standard height and width of beam are 150mm and 100mm. It brings 24 kinds of prototype. 4 pieces or 5 pieces are composed basically. (3) Structural analysis value of modular member is like this Column member shows 9.4 to 85kgf/$cm^{2}$ stress distribution and beam member shows 6.3 to 95kgf/$cm^{2}$ stress distribution. Constructing permanent form could have structural safety with use of temporary equipment

  • This paper predicts the mass and the length of injection-molded products through the Artificial Neural Network (ANN) method. The ANN was implemented with 5 input parameters and 2 output parameters(mass, length). The input parameters, such as injection time, melt temperature, mold temperature, packing pressure and packing time were selected. 44 experiments that are based on the mixed sampling method were performed to generate training data for the ANN model. The generated training data were normalized to eliminate scale differences between factors to improve the prediction performance of the ANN model. A random search method was used to find the optimized hyper-parameter of the ANN model. After the ANN completed the training, the ANN model predicted the mass and the length of the injection-molded product. According to the result, average error of the ANN for mass was 0.3 %. In the case of length, the average deviation of ANN was 0.043 mm.

  • The objective of this study is structural analysis of continuous casting mold. A two-dimensional finite element model was developed to compute the temperature distribution, thermal stress and thermal strain behavior for continuous casting mold. Structural analysis was made using thermal analysis result, utilizing transient analysis of ANSYS. This structural analysis results, many variables such as casting speed, cooling condition film coefficient, convection and load condition are considered.

  • This study explores the compression molding of diffractive-aspheric lenses using GeSbSe chalcogenide glasses. A mold core with diffractive structure was prepared and a chalcogenide glass lens was molded at various temperatures using the corresponding core. The effect of molding temperature on the transcription characteristics of diffractive structure was examined, by measuring and comparing the diffractive structure between the mold core and the molded chalcogenide glass lens using a microscope and a white light interferometer. In addition, the applicability of the molded lens for thermal imaging was evaluated, by measuring the form error.

  • Patterned optical components are widely used for optical products such as LCD and lighting. Since CCFL was used as a light source in the products, prism films having linear continuous optical patterns were widely used. However, LED which is a dot light source is popular recently, therefore, the optical products need new optical components having non-continuous optical patterns. Indentation machining method is a powerful method for machining of non-continuous pattern. When a copper mold and a brass mold were machined by this method, severe plastic deformation called pile-up was observed around the patterns. Since pile-up has negative relationship to ductility, this deformation can be eliminated by annealing treatment which makes the materials ductile. No plastic deformation occurred when machined after annealing at $600{^{\circ}C}$ and $575{^{\circ}C}$ for copper and brass, respectively. Finally, non-continuous optical patterns with high quality were machined on a copper mold and a brass mold successively.

  • Cleaning by injecting dry ice and water is a generally adopted trend these days to clean molds (injection, diecasting foundry, press, rubber mold, etc). This cleaning method is performed manually, or by installing multiple high pressure spray nozzles. We have manufactured a turbine cleaning module device that is able to clean diecasting modules at any position and angle in the space by mounting an articulated robot instead of the existing pipe type injection nozzle, to minimize lead time and enhance working yield of the cleaning process. In this paper, we analyzed process factors that are required to design the turbine module by reviewing number of revolution, and results according to different blade angles and thicknesses of the mold release injection turbine module, using computational fiuid dynamics (CFD).

  • We used a construction method using a CNC milling machine, where free-formed molds were made by cutting EPS (Expanded PolyStyrene) foam with the CNC machine, to build free-formed buildings. CNC milling is off-the-shelf technology that can easily cut EPS foam; however its production cost is too high and the time to manufacture an EPS mold is too long. This paper proposes a novel cutting machine with a fast and cost effective mechanism to manufacture EPS concrete molds. Our machine comprises a cutter and Cartesian coordinate type moving mechanism, where the cutter cuts EPS foam using a hotwire in the shape of '$\sqcap$' and is capable of adjusting its cutting angle in real-time while keeping its cutting width. We proved through cutting experiments on the CNC machine that cutting time was greatly shortened compared to the conventional method and that the resulting concrete mold satisfied manufacturing precision.
