Determination of Molding Conditions of Double-Shot Injection Mold for the Computer Mouse via Three-Dimensional Injection Molding Analysis (3 차원 사출성형 해석을 통한 컴퓨터 마우스 제작용 이중사출성형 금형의 공정조건 결정)

  • The objective of this study determine the molding conditions of a double-shot injection mold for fabricating a computer mouse using different materials, by performing three-dimensional injection molding analysis. In order to select the optical injection molding conditions, the effects of the injection time, the maximum injection pressure, the effect of packing time on the injection molding characteristics, and the product qualities were quantitatively examined. From the results of the injection molding analysis, the optimal injection molding conditions of the double-shot injection mold, which leads the molded product to the minimized shrinkage and deflection, were estimated. The results of the injection molding experiments, showed that an appropriate computer mouse can be fabricated using different materials when the identified optimal injection molding conditions are adopted.

  • It is necessary to improve the pattern replication and birefringence in LGP(Light guide panel) for better optical performance. In the present paper, the effects of injection-compression and injection-press mode with normal injection mold on the distribution of transcription of pattern and birefringence were studied. It was found that the values of pattern replication was improved and the birefringence was reduced for the cases of low initial clamping force in injection-compression mode and for the cases of longer mold opening length in injection-press mode, repectively.

  • The shrinkages of injection molded parts are different in molding operational conditions, resins and additives. The shrinkage of injection molded part for crystalline polymer, PBT (polybutylene terephthalate) has been studied for various operational conditions of injection molding and content of additives. Mica was used as a additive to PBT to examine the part shrinkage according to the mica content. The part shrinkages of mica contained PBT decreased as mica content increases. Higher injection temperature and injection pressure resulted in a lower shrinkage. As mold temperature increases the part shrinkage decreased. The part shrinkage of flow direction was less than that of the perpendicular direction to the flow for both pure and mica contained PBT. However the shrinkage difference between flow and perpendicular to flow directions decreased as mica content increased.

  • In the present study, the effects of orthogonal ribs on structural warpage during injection molding process were investigated. Basic ribbed models for the evaluation of degree of warpage were introduced and designed. Injection molds for these models are manufactured based on the full 3D CAD/CAM technology and specimens are prepared for experiment. Numerical analysis using commercial plastic injection molding analysis software was also performed to compare the results with experimental ones. The variations of materials and parameters such as injection time, mold temperature, melt temperature, holding time were considered in the present work. It was shown that orthogonal ribs have significant effect on the reduction of warpage during the injection molding process.

  • It is true that the plastic shrinkage is inevitable. Shrinkage rate in effect at the time of mold design will soon determine the size of the global product. Process for the shrinkage of the plastic that provides how made, yet it has identified a process for making the question whether the shrinkage that can be trusted, and by the experimental results were as follows: as shrinkage, see ISO but, according to circumstances the process can go to the agreement between the parties. shrinkage ratio of the pressure sensor installed in the specimen mold is essential, amount of pressure sensor is that it is appropriate approximately 2-3. proper holding pressure is a significant effect on shrinkage Mitch, so that the effect of selecting the contraction ratio data according to the appropriate holding pressure during mold making. shrinkage CAE analysis results are difficult to utilize in the mold-making chamber. Based on these results, it concluded by looking forward to the improved products produced shrinkage.

  • The HEV/EV Traction Motor Core manufacturing technology is a core component of Traction Motor Core is a key technology for the manufacture of eco-friendly automotive industry is essential for the competitiveness of the country must obtain the technology. This study was performed to develop a Rotor Core of the HEV/EV Traction Motor using the first time in Korea multi-gate BMC injection molding technique. Executed by the experiment of this study are as follows. Study 1: Developed a multi-gate BMC injection mold for the magnet fixed to the Rotor Core. Study 2: Developed a production implementation and manufacturing technology of the Rotor Core. In this study, the develop products and manufacturing technologies implemented by the BMC injection mold development for Magnet fixed to the Rotor Core and the results are discussed.
