유리섬유가 첨가된 수지에서 사출성형품의 성형수축에 관한 연구 (Investigation of the Part Shrinkage in Injection Molding for Class Fiber Reinforced Thermoplastics)

  • The shrinkages of injection molded parts are different in molding operational conditions and mold design. It also differs from resins. The shrinkages of injection molded parts fur PBT (polybutylene terephthalate), PC (polycarbonate), and glass reinforced PBT and PC have been studied for various operational conditions of injection molding. The part shrinkage of crystalline polymer, PBT was higher than that of amorphous polymer, PC by about two times. The part shrinkages of both polymers decreased as glass fiber content increases. Higher injection temperature and lower injection pressure resulted in a higher shrinkage in both PBT and PC resins. As mold temperature increases the part shrinkage of PC decreased. However, the part shrinkage of PBT increased as mold temperature increases. The part shrinkages of PBT and PC resins decreased as gate size increases since the pressure delivery is mush easier for a larger gate size. The part shrinkage of flow direction was less than that of the perpendicular direction to the flow for both pure and glass fiber reinforced resins. The part shrinkage at the position close to the gate was less than that of the position far from the gate.

  • The environmental pollution which is global warming and abnormal climate is caused by increasing population and activated economics. To reduce environmental pollution, we have being efforts into reducing $CO_2$ emission and use of energy, resources. Especially, for the sake of light weight and fuel efficiency of automotive industry, many countries have defined the restrict environmental regulation which stipulate high magnitude of reducing $CO_2$ emission. In this study, we have predicted the problem of Mu-cell injection molding through the finite element analysis as a function of temperature controlled by Joule heating or in terms of mold temperature. From the result of finite element analysis, we have determined the optimized process and made the injection mold included electric current heating system with Mu-cell manufacturing. Lastly, we analyzed the surface characteristics of the injection products with mold temperature.

  • Demands for high quality and productivity of precision mechanical parts are increasing greatly nowadays due to the rapid growth of information technologies and convergence industries. Therefore, core technologies for fabrication of precision mechanical parts are the fundamental issues, which are the precision machining, micro powder injection molding technologies, MR polishing, micro polymer processes, micro actuation modules and so on. These technologies are directly related to the mass production of high functional devices and machineries. Therefore, this study investigates the fabrication technologies of micro precision molds for advanced devices for possible commercialization in a near future.

가스사출성형을 이용한 TV MASK FRONT의 무도장 제품에 관한 연구 (A Study on Paintless Molded Parts in TV Mask Front Using Gas-Assisted Injection Molding)

  • Injection molded plastic parts have many surface detects: weld line, sink mark, flow mark, gloss, shading, scratching, and so on. Because these surface faults have not been accepted esthetically, plastic parts are Produced through painting or texturing. The purpose of this paper is to develop a paintless molded part of TV Mask Front by flow control method and gas-assisted injection molding. In order to minimize defects from injection molding, this study was carried out using computer aided injection mold filling simulations using MF/FLOW and MF/GAS. Based on these numerical results, we developed FR(Flame Retardant) HIPS and established guidelines of part design, mold design, and Processing conditions. We have achieved of cost sayings, improvement of productivity, and utilization of recycling by eliminating surface defects and painting process.

사출성형에서 공정 중 금형의 진동 크기 변화를 활용한 냉각시간 모니터링에 대한 연구 (A study on the monitoring of cooling time using the change in the magnitude of mold vibration in injection molding)

  • In this study, during the injection molding process, a device was manufactured and evaluated that calculates a cooling time by measuring a vibration signal generated from a mold using an acceleration. The last two parts, one of which has a large magnitude change in the measured vibration signal of a mold, were divided into a cooling start section (paking end section) and a mold opening section, and the time difference at the relevant points was calculated as the cooling time. The cooling time was monitored on a 5-inch light guide plate mold by applying the method. The manufactured device was attached to a fixed base of mold to measure the cooling time, and data was obtained remotely using Bluetooth technology. Then, the measured cooling time was compared with the cooling time set in the injection molding machine to evaluate the accuracy. As a result of the experiment, the cooling times measured by the devices were 15.675±0.024 sec, 20.637±0.014 sec and 25.623±0.079 sec of each conditions. Also, the measurement results were shown with errors of 0.655±0.044 sec, 0.637±0.014 sec, and 0.662±0.013 sec, respectively.

EDLC 슈퍼 캐피시터 특성 분석을 위한 양산용 전기화학 분석 장치 개발 (Development of an Electro Impedance Spectroscopy device for EDLC super capacitor characterization in a mass production line)

  • 본 논문에서는 기존에 주로 연료전지나 배터리 분석용으로 사용되었던 EIS 장비를 그 적용 범위를 넓혀 차세대 축전지인 EDLC 슈퍼커패시터까지도 분석할 수 있도록 개발하였다. 시스템은 다양한 패턴을 발생시킬 수 있는 신호 발생기, 정전위기, 수집된 신호처리를 위한 고속 디지털 필터 및 측정 프로그램으로 구성되었다. 개발된 시스템은 연구실 레벨에 그치지 않고 휴대용이면서 양산용에도 적합한 전기화학 분석 장치이다. 시스템의 특징으로는 0.01에서 20kHz까지 신호 출력이 가능하며, 동시에 수집된 전류신호는 푸리에변환을 이용하여 빠르게 분석할 수 있다. 장치를 이용하여 분석한 EDLC의 특성인 복소 저항 임피던스와, 등가이론을 적용한 등가회로 임피던스 데이터를 비교한 결과, 비슷한 결과를 확인 할 수 있었다. 이 시스템을 사용하면, 슈퍼커패시터의 생산 과정에서 시간에 따라 변하는 전기화학적 임피던스 변화를 빠른시간에 측정 할 수 있을 것으로 예상된다.

DED방식의 적층가공을 통한 금형으로의 응용사례 및 효과 (Effects and Application Cases of Injection Molds by using DED type Additive Manufacturing Process)

  • Laser aided Direct Metal Tooling(DMT) process is a kind of Additive Manufacturing processes (or 3D-Printing processes), which is developed for using various commercial steel powders such as P20, P21, SUS420, H13, D2 and other non-ferrous metal powders, aluminum alloys, titanium alloys, copper alloys and so on. The DMT process is a versatile process which can be applied to various fields like the mold industry, the medical industry, and the defense industry. Among of them, the application of DMT process to the mold industry is one of the most attractive and practical applications since the conformal cooling channel core of injection molds can be fabricated at the slightly expensive cost by using the hybrid fabrication method of DMT technology compared to the part fabricated with the machining technology. The main objectives of this study are to provide various characteristics of the parts made by DMT process compared to the same parts machined from bulk materials and prove the performance of the injection mold equipped with the conformal cooling channel core which is fabricated by the hybrid method of DMT process.

Botrytis allii에 의한 양파 잿빛썩음병 (Gray Mold Neck Rot of Onion Caused by Botrytis allii in Korea)

  • Severe gray mold neck rot of onion occurred in most farmers' fields in the southern part of Korea, and 20∼50% of onions were infected by the disease at Goheung, Chonnam, in 1994. Symptoms of the disease appeared on the lower leaves near the soil surface in late February. The symptoms initially appeared as yellowish blotch with compact gray mold on the surface of the infected leaves and developed to blast of the aboveground parts of onions. As brown to dark brown symptoms progressed around the necks of onion later, the bulbs were rotting gradually. Botrytis sp. repeatedly isolated from the lesions produced the typical symptom on the neck of healthy onion 7 days after wound inoculation of conidial suspension of the fungus. The fungus reisolated from the bulbs was identified as Botrytis allii Munn based on the morphological and cultural characteristics and pathogenicity. This is first report of a gray mold neck rot of onion in Korea.

핫러너 금형에서 캐비티사이의 충전불균형 현상에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Filling Imbalances between Multi-Cavity in Hot-Runner Mold)

  • Plastic parts are molded for the purpose of mass production in multi-cavity system. Therefore, designer is usually designing molds that has geometrically balanced runner lay-out for filling balance at each cavities. Although, mold is manufactured with geometrically balanced runner lay-out, there are actually filling imbalances in cavities. These filling imbalances phenomenon are caused by complicated interaction between melt and mold. In this study, based on previous studies for filling imbalances in cold-runner mold, filling imbalances in hot-runner mold were investigated by CAE and injection molding experiments. ABS, PMMA as amorphous polymer and PA, PP as crystalline polymer were used to compare the filling imbalances. The filling imbalances decreased as injection rate increased without regard to kind of resins and were lower than the one of cold-runner.

복합재료 부품의 RTM 공정을 위한 쾌속금형의 제작 (Rapid Tooling for Resin Transfer Molding of Composites Part)

  • A rapid tooling (RT) method fur the resin transfer molding (RTM) have been investigated. We fabricated a curved I-beam to verify the method. After creating a three-dimensional CAD model of the beam we fabricated a prototype of the model using a rapid prototyping (RP) machine. A soft mold was made using the prototype by the conventional silicone mold technique. The procedure and method of mold fabrication is described. The mold was cut into several parts to allow easier placement of the fiber preform. We conducted the resin transfer molding process and manufactured a composite beam with the mold. The preform was built by stacking up eight layers of delicately cut carbon fabrics. The fabrics were properly stitched to maintain the shape while placement. The manufactured composites beam was inspected and found well-impregnated. The fiber volume ratio of the fabricated beam was 16.85%.
