담배종류별 흡습 및 방습 특성 (Moisture Sorption and Desorption Characteristics of Tobacco Types.)

  • This study was carried out to investigate moisture sorption and desorption characteristics followed by tobacco type. Experiments were performed at various temperature(5, 15, 25, 40 $^{\circ}C$) and relative humidity range (11~84 %) controlled by saturated salt solution. Regression equation was obtained to predict equilibrium moisture according to various relative humidity, temperature and tobacco types. The obtained regression equation showed high $R^2$(above 0.95) and predicted accurate equilibrium moisture. Equilibrium moisture contents declines in the following order when a relative humidity is 50 % or above: expanded stem, flue-cured, expanded tobacco, reconstituted tobacco, USA flue-cured, orient, burley. To maintain 13 % moisture of each tobacco type in the range of 5~40 $^{\circ}C$ it is recommendable to control relative humidity 49~56 % for expanded stem, 50~57 % for flue-cured, 54~61 % for USA flue-cured, 56~60 % for reconstituted tobacco, 57~62 % for expanded tobacco, 58~64 % for orient and 58~65 % for burley, respectively. It means that the relative humidity of each tobacco type should be differently controlled to maintain the same moisture under the same temperature. In the range of 5~25 $^{\circ}C$, the lower temperature showed the higher equilibrium moisture content.

다공성 원료를 사용한 수열합성 패널의 흡습 특성 (Hygroscopic Characteristic of Hydrothermal Reacted Panels Using Porous Materials)

  • Diatomite, bentonite and zeolite were used as porous materials for fabricating hygroscopic panels. Moisture adsorption and desorption of porous materials were investigated and hydrothermal method was applied to fabricate panels. Cheolwon diatomite and Pohang zeolite showed excellent characteristics of moisture adsorption and desorption. These characteristics were caused by higher surface area and pore volume of porous materials. Correlation coefficient between surface area and moisture adsorption content of porous materials was 0.93. Moisture adsorption contents were influenced by surface area and pore volume of panels, and surface area more effected on moisture adsorption. Correlation coefficient between surface area and moisture adsorption content of panels was 0.86. Moisture adsorption content of panel with 10% Pohang zeolite was $180\;g/m^2$ and that of 10% Cheolwon diatomite was $170\;g/m^2$. Moisture desorption content of panel with 10% Pohang zeolite was $105\;g/m^2$. Moisture adsorption contents of panel with porous materials were higher than that of panel without porous materials.

Vapor Permeability and Moisture Gradient on a Paulownia Wood for Inside Material of Furniture Making

  • This study was carried out to know the difference of vapor transmission on the thickness of Paulownia wood(Paulownia tomentosa). The behavior of moisture transmission of wood thickness direction is generally estimated by vapor permeability and vapor transmission resistance. In general, Paulownia wood is known to use of inside material for furniture making, because of the excellent ability of vapor adsorption and/or desorption. Quarter sawing Paulownia wood material is prepared and the thickness is 6.0mm, 7.0mm, 8.0mm, 9.0mm, 10.0mm, respectively. The measurement of vapor transmission were conducted by the "cup method" in accordance with JIS(Japanese Industrial Standard) Z-0208. The experiment was made in the condition of 49.8mmHg vapor pressure difference and $40^{circ}C$ at constant temperature. From the experiment results, it was considered that Paulownia wood is very stable on moisture variation and any other material conditions. In this experiment we found that the vapor permeability and vapor permeance was reduced with the increase of wood thickness to vapor direction and vapor transmission resistance and specific vapor transmission resistance was increased with the increase of wood thickness to vapor direction. Besides moisture contents of adsorption and desorption side were about 5 percent and 14 percent, respectively. Mean value was 9.5 percent and about 10 percent in dry oven method. Moisture gradient was reduced with the increase of wood thickness for a small moisture difference of adsorption and desorption side.

향끽미종 잎담배의 탈착 엔탈피 변화에 관한 상관성 연구 (The Correlation Study on the Desorption Enthalpy Changes of Sun- Cured Tobacco)

  • The net enthalpy changes for the water desorption of sun-cured tobacco have been studied. In order to compare the values of net enthalpy changes for the samples at the same moisture contents, correlation analyses have been performed. The results are summarizing as followings : 1 . As temperature and water vapor pressure increased, equlibrium moisture content were approaching to the saturated vapor pressure of water. 2. The values of 1nP against the reciprocal of absolute temperature were linear for the water desorption of samples. 3. Multiple regression was analyzed to calculate the values of 1nP at the same moisture content. The significance of $x^2$-test for the multiple regression was 0.5%. 4. The values of net enthalpy changes for Basma were greater than those of Sohyang at the same moisture content.

목재의 흡방습에 관한 연구 - 수종에 의한 흡방습성의 차이 - (Studies on Absorption and Desorption Wood - Difference of Absorption and Desorption Behavior of Wood -)

  • In this paper, the difference of the property of absorption and desorption for five species in semi-steady state are studied. The species used are listed in Table 1 and the dimension of specimen was $8\times8{\times}T$(Tangential direction)cm and tested in various conditions. A change of average moisture content with time were measured in each cycles. The results obtained are summarized as follows. When the relative humidity in air was maximum or minimum, the distribution of moisture In wood of all specimens were illustrated by exponential curves of decrease or increased from lace 10 center of wood. From the consideration of coefficient of decrease(C), the amount of moisture change of spruce was larger than the others. The pheonomenon was considered no relation to the specific gravity in air dry, but the wood structures. The velocity of the absorption and desorption for species decreased in the order spruce(Picea sitchensis) neodobam(Fagus crenata), solsong(Tsuga heterophylla), meranti(Shorea sp.) and kaesoo(Cercidiphyllum japoicum). In case of constant temperature and water vapor pressure is changed. the amount of absorbed moisture was larger than that of constant water vapor pressure and temperature vaned. In this fact, it is considered that the property of sorption of wood is strongly influenced by vapor pressure gradient than temperature gradient.

쌀의 저장중 수분이동에 의한 균열현상에 관한 연구 (Cracking of Rice Caused by Moisture Migration during Storage)

  • 저장 중 쌀의 수분이동에 따른 균열현상을 구명하고 균열을 발생시키는 임계조건을 산출하여 이를 토대로 쌀의 균열을 방지할 수 있는 저장조건을 확립하였다. 쌀의 평형상대습도와 노출된 환경의 상대습도의 차이$({\Delta}ERH)$가 적을 때는 균열이 발생하지 않은 반면, 그 차이가 임계치보다 클 때는 균열이 발생하였으며 균열의 발생정도는 쌀의 평형상대습도와 환경의 상대습도의 차이가 클수록 심하게 나타났다. 탈습환경 하에서는 불규칙한 형상의 균열이 쌀알의 외부에 발생하였으며 흡습환경 하에는 규칙적인 형상의 균열이 쌀알의 내부에 축방향과 수직방향으로 방사상으로 발생하였다. 노출시간별 균열발생 패턴을 Weibull함수에 의거하여 해석한 결과, ${\Delta}ERH$가 클수록 균열속도상수가 증가하였다. 동할미 발생률은 In$({\Delta}ERH)$에 따라 직선적으로 증가하였으며, 임계 균열발생 상대 습도차(critical crack-inducing ${\Delta}ERH$)는 탈습시 $11.3{\sim}16.4%$, 흡습시 $10.8{\sim}17.1%$의 값을 보였다. 실험결과를 토대로 수분함량 및 수분활성도 별 쌀의 안전저장 상대습도를 나타내는 diagram을 제시하였다.

벼, 현미, 백미 및 왕겨의 방습평형함수율 (Desorption Equilibrium Moisture Content of Rough Rice , Brown Rice, White Rice and Rice Hull)

  • This study was performed to determine desorption equilibrium moisture contents of rough rice, brown rice, white rice and rice hull grown in Korea. EMC values were measured by static method using saturated salt solutions at three temperature levels of 2$0^{\circ}C$, 3$0^{\circ}C$ and 4$0^{\circ}C$ and eight relative humidity levels in the range from 11.2% to 85.0%. The measured EMC values were fitted to modified Henderson, Chung-Pfost , and modified Oswin models by using nonlinear regression analysis. The results of comparing root mean square errors for three models showed that modified Henderson and CHung -Pfost models could serve as good models, and that modified Oswin model could not be available for rough rice, brown rice, white rice and rice hull.

다공성 원료와 수열합성으로 제조한 건축 내장용 패널의 흡방습 특성 (Hygroscopic Characteristic of Hydrothermal reacted Panels using Porous Materials)

  • 본 연구에서는 규조토, 벤토나이트, 제올라이트를 사용하여 건축내장용 조습패널을 제조하였으며,패널 제조에 사용된 원료의 특성에 따른 조습 성능 등을 평가해 보고자 하였다. 철원 규조토는 형태와 구조가 와해 변질된 상태로 존재하였으며, 포항 벤토나이트는 입자 표면이만곡 현상(彎曲 現狀)과 많은 기공을 관찰할 수 있었다. 제올라이트는 타원형 또는 구형의 형태를 가지고 있으며, 다수의 판상 입자들이 한개의 거대 입자(15$\mu$m 전후)를 형성하는 특징이 있었다. 또한 대부분의 원료들은 판상이거나 침상으로 다공질의 미세구조를 관찰할 수 있었다. 각 원료를 사용해 제조한 조습패널은 다공성 원료의 첨가로 인해 다공성 원료를 혼합하지 않은 패널 보다 수분의 흡방습 특성은 크게 개선되어, 포항 제올라이트 10% 패널의 경우에는 흡습량 180g/m$^2$, 방습량 105g/m$^2$ 수준이었다. 또한 패널의 비표면적 및 기공 부피와 수분 흡방습량과의 높은 상관성이 있음을 확인하였다. 또한 다공성 원료의 종류에 따라서도 패널의 수분 흡방습량은 차이가 있었으며, 이는 다공성 원료의 영향으로 판단되었다. 이때 철원 규조토를 10% 첨가한 패널의 수분 흡습량은 170g/m$^2$ 정도 였으며, 포항 제올라이트를 10% 첨가한 패널의 수분 흡습량은 180g/m$^2$, 방습량은 105g/m$^2$ 로 다공성 원료를 혼합하지 않은 패널(흡/방습량:80/40g/m$^2$) 보다 매우 우수한 흡방습능을 나타내었다.

표고버섯의 평형함수율에 관한 연구 (Equilibrium Moisture Content of Shiitake Mushroom(Lentinus edodes))

  • The equilibrium moisture content(EMC) of Shiitake mushroom is and important factor because it has a close relationship to storage and drying problems. The determination of the EMC for Shiitake mushroom was made in atmospheres of various constant humidities at four different constant temperatures and the fitting of the five selected EMC models were performed with the experimental EMC data. The desorption equilibrium moisture contents for Shiitake mushroom were increased as the temperature was decreased and the relative humidity was increased. The significant difference of the equilibrium moisture content was appeared between the cap and the stipe of Shiitake mushroom. The Henderson-Thompson model was fitter than the others with the experimental data.

유채씨의 방습 평형함수율 (Desorption EMC Models for Rapeseed)

  • This study was performed to determine desorption equilibrium moisture contents(EMC) of rapeseed grown in Korea. EMC values were measured by static method using saturated salt solutions at three temperature levels of 30, 40 and $50^{\circ}C$, and eight relative humidity levels in the range from 11.0 to 83.6%. The measured EMC values were fitted to Chung-Pfost, Modified Halsey, Modified Henderson and Modified Oswin models by using nonlinear regression analysis. The results of root mean square errors for four models showed that Halsey and Modified Oswin Models could serve as good models, but the Chung-Pfost and Modified Henderson models could not show reasonably good fitting.
