A comprehensive research effort in order to develop and disseminate modernized Korean housing (Hanok) has recently been initiated by Korean government. This large scale research project encompasses a wide spectrum of housing development including public policy, architectural plans, modules, construction materials and methods, prefabricated assemblies, automated production, construction management, and advanced information systems. For the purpose of integrating and automating the whole processes from an industry perspective, it is of great importance to develop a standard classification system and project numbering system (PNS) for the modernized Korean housing. This paper focuses on the standard classification systems and PNS for cost and schedule control. The distinct characteristics and managerial requirements were explored and embedded into the proposed classifications for modernized Hanok.

In the construction field, there has been a recent and unprecedented increase in the research and development of modernized Korean traditional buildings, This is because, in today's modern society, the basic needs for survival have already been met and more people are now recognizing the importance of the identity of our unique culture. It is therefore timeous to consider not just how to preserve and use Korean traditional buildings, but also how to develop them into more industrialized and modernized buildings in a practical way. Recently, the direction has been focused on the industrialization of modernized Korean traditional buildings, including their evolution, and development, as well as on the numerous cases where construction has been delayed. In order to industrialize modernized Korean traditional buildings, we need to standardize their form and actively introduce current IT (Information Technology). In order to achieve this, it is absolutely necessary to change from the CADD (Computer Aided Design and Drafting) system to the BIM (Building Information Modeling) system, which reflects the concept of Virtual Architecture. Therefore, the aim of this study is to discuss the possibilities of using BIM system for industrialization of modernized Korean traditional buildings, extend the foundation of the form library, and develop an intelligent modeler. It is also necessary to exemplify a case model for modernized Korean traditional buildings to which BIM is applied.

한옥에 대한 관심이 급증을 하고 있는 가운데, 가격경쟁력을 갖춘 신한옥이 개발되고 있다. 이러한 신한옥 개발에 있어서, 공법의 개발은 필수적이다. 이에, 본고에서는 신한옥의 개발과정 중 실제 건설된 전통한옥 1채와 신한옥 2채의 사례를 중심으로 신공법 사례 소개와 각 한옥의 부위별 공법을 비교하였다. 또한, 부위별 공법별로 공사비 및 공기의 영향도를 분석하였다. 그 결과, 전통한옥 대비 신한옥의 공사비는 모든 부위에서 저감되었으며, 공기는 대부분의 부위에서 단축되었다. 두 신한옥 사례의 분석 결과, 목재 구조체와 지붕의 공사비 및 공기 비율이 가장 높았으며, 다음으로 벽체, 바닥, 창호, 기초 순으로 나타났다. 효과적인 공사비 저감 및 공기 단축을 위해서는 목재 구조체 및 지붕 부위의 공법개발에 집중해야 한다.

Growing demand for traditional Korean housing, modernized Korean traditional housing (Hanok) was developed as a way of providing Hanok for the public. However, the standard cost data for Hanok has limitations, as it was developed based on single mock-up project actually constructed and verified by another mock-up Hanok. In order to meet these research objectives, daily report composition which is easy-to-use for on-site workers and managers and also easy-to-accumulate standard cost data was developed first. Secondly, access to the system was made easy through a web server. Finally, an automated calculation formula was inserted to allow the last inputted data to be automatically included for adjustment of standard costs. This system was designed from an industry perspective so that any unspecified and nonprofessional users can easily use. For the users, it has an advantage that on-site workers are provided with a daily report system through web server and also they are able to complete such reports through simple input and output without any additional forms.

Research on the "Modernized Korean traditional housing" (Hanok) has been actively studied in succeeding to Korean traditional housing and providing the public with housing that required for modernized life style. The purpose of this study is to classify work sections for Hanok specifications. This paper analyzed the concepts and characteristics of existing specifications. It was found that the absence of standard classifications is one of the causes of missing work items and mixed scopes. Also, the contents of carpentry works have low level of details. Therefore, Hanok specifications, in this study, are required to have upper level standards and to encompass traditional and new construction methods. Further research will develop standard classifications, standard codes, and automated systems of Hanok specifications for improving quality and effectiveness.

최근 한옥의 수요 증가에 따라 전통한옥을 보급화 하기 위한 방안으로 신한옥이 개발되었다. 신한옥이란 전통한옥 보급의 저해 요인으로 작용하였던 높은 평단가 및 건축물 성능 보완하여 개발한 한옥의 한 형태이다. 신한옥이 개발되어 짐에 따라 보급화, 표준화, 생산성 향상 등을 위한 다양한 연구들이 진행되고 있다. 그 중, 신한옥을 건설하기 위하여 필수적 요소로 논의되는 예가 산정의 한 측면으로 품셈에 대한 요구가 지속된다. 이에, 본 연구에서는 신한옥 건설 특성을 반영한 표준품셈을 제안한다. 연구의 방법으로는 기존의 품셈 및 Cost Data 체계를 분석하여 신한옥과 부합하는 품셈구조를 제시하고, 실제 구축사례를 통한 세부항목의 선정과 1차적 검증을 실시하였다. 해당 신한옥 표준품셈은 신한옥 표준정보분류체계와 연계되어 있어 다방면에서 효율적인 활용이 가능하다. 또한, 추가 신한옥 구축을 통하여 데이터가 업데이트되면 보다 신뢰할 수 있는 표준품셈이 될 것으로 기대한다.

This study aims to investigate the patterns of eating and cooking spaces usage of the residence in an urbanizing rural community and suggests planning data to help plan which reflect the residents` housing needs. For the purpose of this study, Sam ga-3ri village and Yoo bang-2ri village in Yong-in, Kyungki-do, which showed a changed living pattern by urbanization, was chosen and the field survey method was used. As a results of this study, I have shown that although rural housing needs to modernized it should not simply duplicate the organization of the urban kitchen. The residents of rural communities need for modernized their cooking facilites, but they need to do this in a way that fits their lifestyle.

In an attempt to disseminate modernized Korean traditional housing (Hanok), a ten-year research project was initiated in 2010 by the Korean Government to reduce the construction cost, improve the facility performance, and automate the Hanok construction industry. To meet these objectives, various research areas, including public policies, planning methods, design standards, new building materials, construction standards, maintenance procedures, advanced project management tools, and integrated IT applications have been developed. In addition, comprehensive technologies developed were applied to the ten pilot Hanok buildings to validate the real-world performance as part of the research project. To further facilitate the digital transformation of the Hanok industry by using the research results, it is required to disseminate the developed technologies in an automated and standardized manner. In particular, it is crucial to systematize and manage the interoperability of various technical data and accumulated historical data for different business functions, especially within the highly fragmented industry. In this context, this paper proposes an ontology-based Hanok information dissemination platform to enable industry-wide automated knowledge and information sharing. The system architecture, standardized historical database, and advanced analytics based on ontology web language (OWL) for the Hanok industrialization platform are introduced.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the transition of housing facilities and the technicalization of the housing life through the newspaper advertisements between the 1970s' and 1990s'. The modernization on multi-family housing life since 1970s' was come true by functional equipments. Although the improvement on the material environments deteriorated the modernized life to the commercial uniformity.

근래에 들어 한옥에 대한 인식의 변화와 더불어 한옥에 살고자 하는 선호도가 증가하는 등 한옥에 대한 관심이 급증을 하고 있는 가운데 정부에서는 한옥에 대한 제도를 개선하고 예산을 반영하는 등, 한옥관련 사업을 다각도로 추진하고 있다. 그러나 상대적으로 높은 공사비는 한옥의 대중화 및 지속적 발전에 장애요인중의 하나가 되고 있다. 이를 개선하고자 정부에서는 '한옥기술개발'의 R&D사업을 추진하고 있으며, 그에 따라 본 논문은 '한옥기술개발'의 일환으로 실제 지어진 전통한옥과 신한옥의 생산성을 토대로 효율적인 공사비 저감의 방향을 제시하고자 한다. 분석방법으로 한옥공사의 15개 대공종 중 주요공종을 선정하였다. 전통한옥과 신한옥 공사 중 주요공종에서의 생산성을 분석하여 재료와 공법의 변화가 생산성에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 그 결과, 분석한 주요공종 모두에서 생산성이 향상됨을 확인하였다. 또한 생산성의 향상이 공사비 저감에 어떠한 영향을 끼쳤는지 분석하였다. 주요공종 중 지붕/홈통의 공종은 주로 재료의 변화, 목공사와 마감공사는 공법의 변화, 기초공사와 창호는 재료와 공법 모두의 변화로 인하여 공사비 저감을 이루었다.
