In this paper, the hardware design of a transmission convergence sublayer(TC) for boradband wireless access system is described, which performs (1) formatting TC PDUs to MAC PDUs, (2) RS encoding/decoding, (3) providing various control signal to PHY modem. The TC hardware has been designed in VHDL, and successfully synthesized in an FPGA chip.

The purpose of this study is to find out how Western modern architecture flowed into Korea in extent of architectural mind after openning the port and what the transformations and architectural characteristics are in the spreading process. Significance of this study can be found as a fundamental work to look into modem architecture in the point of architectural paradigm, the meaning of which is the link between traditional and contemporary architecture through inflow and settling of Western modem architecture in the modern age of Korea.

As one of the typical Chinese food, rice gruel endows rich culture images. Gruel-eating can be concluded to 6 aspects: the food fur the old, the food fur the weak and the ill, the food for good health and longevity, the food for the hermits and monks; the food far the poor, and the food for enjoyment. In a modem society, the health implication of gruel eating gives many inspirations to medical workers, nutritionist and food manufacturers. People expect the gruels make more contributions to a balanced, diversified, convenient and healthy modem diet.

본 논문에서는 DSP(Digital Signal Processor)를 이용해 INMARSAT-M 위성통신용 단말기 중의 변ㆍ복조부를 설계하였다. R-RC(ROOt Raised Cosine) 필터에 의해 대역제한된 OQPSK 파형의 발생과 디지털 정합필터(Matched filter)를 이용한 OQPSK 복조, 부호율 1/2이고 구속장이 7인 길쌈부호기 및 클록 복구(Clock recovery)의 구현 알고리즘을 C언어와 어셈블리어로 작성하고, 모뎀을 실제 제작하여 변조기능, 복조기능으로 나누어서 동작 특성을 살펴보았다.

An acoustic ranging system was applied for reckoning the location of an agricultural vehicle in the field. The system has a number of fixed stations and a mobile station such as an agricultural vehicle. The mobile station comprises a radio frequency modulator-demodulator (RF MODEM), a buzzer, and a personal computer. This paper studied the method to improve the reliability with the simple structure and the decreased calculation of Micro-Controller(uC) in Power Line Modem. We have implementation the program which correct the 1-bit error of the $\mu$C within the control system and the DS/SS(Direct sequence/spread spectrum) by adding the simple circuit between a single chip powerline transceiver IC and a uC.

As Cable Network is developing for 2-way high speed data service, it should be developed to transfer high speed data using limited bandwidth. If QAM is using for this, synchronization algorithms become important system parameters. In this paper, we present two methods of coarse timing recovery using CAZAC sequence for cable modem uplink.

S(Synchronous)-CDMA is a new cable modem technology applicable to the upstream channel for high speed multimedia communication using CATV networks. In this paper we analyze the transmitting and receiving process of S-CDMA scheme based on Terayon patent and derive bit error probability of S-CDMA and TDMA scheme in the $\varepsilon$-mixture impulse noise model which appropriately reflects impulse noise characteristics of upstream channel by using various parameters. This analysis results are a good match with the simulation results. We also compare Eb/No gain performance of S-CDMA with TDMA in 16, 32, 64, QAM.

A new power and bandwidth efficient modem technique-Correlative Encoded FSK (CEFSK) is proposed. CEFSK has a spectral efficiency comparable to Gaussian filtered FSK (GFSK), and it achieves 0.7db Eb/N0 improvement at bit error rate (BER) of 1 * 10 -4 over GFSK in an additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel and 3.0dB improvement in a Rayleigh fading channel
