In this study, the internal development of the Saemangeum basic concept of the changes being promoted as a lead construction and agricultural land works(54.2 km) has established a numerical model for the scenario. Inner dike to the construction site to reflect the following conditions to reproduce the numerical model by each areas during construction inner dike where scour expected to perform a numerical analysis for the hydraulic review by areas with possible future changes were to predict. Simulation results showed that numerical simulation results for scour expected frequency of 100 years in flood conditions is simulated with 0.02 m/s~l.27 m/s scour velocity for high-impact factor is considered to be stable. Each start point and end point work area of inner dike reviewed and flow rate of 100 years flood, the velocity distribution in the influx of a large flow rate of 0.02 m/s~1.68 m/s occur during construction inner dike are not being evaluated as a special issue does not occur will be considered according to the method and order of construction inner dike stability review suggests that the future need to be made.

Modern warfare has developed into a network based simultaneous and integrated warfare where operations elements are interconnected. Following such change in modern warfare, ROK Army has been making an effort to transform personnel-based military structure into technology-based advanced structure. Considering technological innovations and changes in characteristics of officers and men, ROK Army is developing scientific education and training system to provide demand-focused customized education. To support such transformation in education and training, ROK Army is constantly developing Army training system using advanced M&S technology. This paper describes ROK Army's education and training policy, and elaborates the current status of M&S training system using advanced M&S technology. This paper further discusses the future directions of M&S training system.
Application of CAE analyses are wide spread in shaping processes and structural safety verification of plastic products. The importance of CAE analysis and its contributions are getting increase since the processibility and structural safety of product can be predicted. CAE analysis for complex shaped product need a lot of time for modeling and computation compare with simpler one. Therefore careful simulation modeling is required for complex shaped product. Structural analysis for plastic door handle of automobile has been performed and structural safety has been investigated for various load directions and modeling cases. Large stress occurred at the hinge in handle regardless of load direction and modeling case. Consequently hinge is considered structurally very weak among the parts in plastic door handle. It is concluded that simple modeling rather than total modeling with adequate boundary condition equivalent to real situation gives reasonable computational results with saving modeling effort and computation time.

The ballistic performance data of composite materials is distributed due to material inhomogeneity. In this paper, the uncertainty in residual velocity is obtained experimentally, and a method of predicting it is established numerically for the high-speed impact of a bullet into laminated composites. First, the failure strain distribution was obtained by conducting a tensile test using 10 specimens. Next, a ballistic impact test was carried out for the impact of a fragment-simulating projectile (FSP) bullet with 4ply ([0/90]s) and 8ply ([0/90/0/90]s) glass fiber reinforced plastic (GFRP) plates. Eighteen shots were made at the same impact velocity and the residual velocities were obtained. Finally, simulations were conducted to predict the residual velocities by using the failure strain distributions that were obtained from the tensile test. For this simulation, two impact velocities were chosen at 411.7m/s (4ply) and 592.5m/s (8ply). The simulation results show that the predicted residual velocities are in close agreement with test results. Additionally, the modeling of a composite plate with layered solid elements requires less calculation time than modeling with solid elements.

To overcome limitations of test scope, schedule and cost, M&S(Modeling & Simulation) technique has been applied for T&E(Test and Evaluation) of the state-of-art weapon systems. This paper proposes an air defense simulation software framework to reduce both redundancy an[1 programming errors in system simulator. The proposed framework consists of a 'model' and a 'middleware' The 'middleware' is a reliable communication service layer that supports not only HLA(High Level Architecture) which is an international standard in M&S but also TCP/IP, UDP and etc. The main role of 'model' is to schedule and to run the real-time distributed simulation. The proposed framework has been applied to M-SAM(Middle range Surface to Air Missile) system simulator. The proposed framework's scheduling and communication performance results are satisfactory and were measured by hardwired NTP(Network Timer Protocol) time-stamp with GPS(Global Positioning System) timer for better precision.

In the late 1990s, ROK Army started developing a simulation model(ChangJo21) for division/corps level battle command training and finished it successfully. The CJ2l model provides realistic representation of Korean characteristics in doctrine, weapon systems, terrain, and climate etc. The successful development of CJ2l implanted us with confidence on high-technology model development and this has been our motive for development of JeonToo21 for battalion/regiment level battle command training and other war-game models like Hwarang21 (Rear Area Ops. Model) and Vision21 (Division Combat Analysis Model). Eventually, ROK Army was able to establish M&S system by echelons, from battalion to corps. Moreover interoperability between ROK-US simulation systems are on the progress. In this paper, we introduce recently developed 3 war-game simulation models and mention on the future directions of ROK Army Modeling & Simulation.

A CCFL model for high frequency dimming electronic ballast simulation is presented in this paper. The model can be utilized for an electronic ballast simulation with continuous dimming and transient mode simulation such as step dimming. The piezoelectric transformer Is evaluated using an AC analysis. The electronic ballast composed of piezoelectric transformers and ZVS inverter was implemented. It enables a fluorescent lamp to be fumed on stably. Simulation of a high frequency electronic ballast which operates a fluorescent Imp at high frequency is proposed. Simulation is carried out using PSPICE program to illustrate the performance of the circuit

This paper proposed the M&S(Modeling & Simulation) method of channel characterization of satellite communication in the operating area of satellite OTM(On-The-Move) terminal. In M&S, received signal profile was acquired by HTZ warfare software which uses 3 dimensional map including building, road information and geographical features, and then was analyzed statistically. And a received signal profile and its statistics from M&S data were compared with those from measured data. The research showed that the simulated received signal profile matched the measured one about 74.8 percent and simulated statistics matched well as roadside trees were excluded.

Modeling and simulation has widely been used in the weapon systems acquisition, the military training, and the warfighting experimentation. A study of the warfighting experimentation had been relatively scarce in comparison to other fields (acquisition, training). The main reasons are 1) reliability of simulation model isn't sufficient and 2) collaboration between professional groups is too difficult. To solve this problem, the application framework of warfighting experimentation for military operations was proposed. And through the framework, the case study about sea fight was fulfilled. This framework provides connectivity between warfighting experimentation and military operations planning procedure. With improved reliability, active application of warfighting experimentation could contribute to fighting capability.
M&S techniques are utilized for various purposes on the national defense, and its importance is increasing than ever. For analyzing RAM (Reliability, Availability and Maintainability) of weapon system, using M&S techniques can be more effective and practical way than deterministic approach, because M&S approach can consider uncertain variables and various constraints in the ILS (Integrated Logistics support) field. For design of ILS M&S, we first set up a purpose of M&S, attributes of real system and other similar ILS M&S tool. Then, we convert real system into model which consists of mathematical formula and logical expression. In this thesis, we introduce modeling procedures of M&S that describes total life cycle of 'OO guided weapon system' and the contents proposed in this paper can provide references for developing other M&S tool.
