  • The purpose of this paper was to design an effective control system of 1-axis exciter for a seat vibration test of agricultural tractors using MATLAB simulation. The developed simulation model was composed with a hydraulic pump, a hydraulic servo valve, a hydraulic cylinder and load system. Also it was verified by comparing the simulation results with experimental results of actual control system in order to optimize the control performance. And in order to improve its control performance, the designed PID controller in this research was tuned using Ziegler-Nichols 2nd law and zero's moving method of PID controller's transfer function. As the result of these research, the developed position control system was able to control the system's position accurately within 5% errors.

  • An improved hydrostatic unit(HSU) model is proposed by considering the flow loss in order to analyze the power flow characteristics of a hydromechanical transmission(HMT) and a network analysis algorithm is presented to determine the torque and speed of each element of the HMT. To calculate the torque and flow loss of a pump and a motor in HSU, an effort and flow concept is introduced, which can be used to establish a torque and speed matrix in the network analysis. It is found from the network analysis that magnitude of the HSU stroke increases to maintain the same output speed in order to compensate the flow Boss in the HSU and the efficiency of the HMT shows the lowest value in the 1st speed since the HSU has the largest flow loss in the 1st speed and the flow loss decreases as the speed ratio upshifts.

  • The flow and the heat transfer about the cross-flow fin-tube heat exchanger in an out-door unit of a heat pump system has been numerically Investigated. Using the general purpose analysis code, FLUENT, the Navier-Stokes equations and the energy equation are solved for the three dimensional computation domain that encompasses multiple rows of the fin-tube. The temperature on the fin and tube surface is assumed constant but compensated later through the fin efficiency when predicting the heat-transfer rate. The contact resistance is also taken into consideration. The flow and temperature fields for a wide range of inlet velocity and fin-tube arrangements are examined and the results are presented in the paper. The details of the flow are very well captured and the heat transfer rate for a range of inlet velocity is in excellent agreement with the measured data. The flow solution provides the effective permeability and the inertial resistance factor of the heat exchanger if the exchanger were to be approximated by the porous medium. This information is essential in carrying out the global flow field calculation which, in turn, provides the inlet velocity lot the microscopic temperature-field calculation of the heat exchanger unit.

  • This paper presents the road simulator control technology for reproducing the road input signal to implement the real road data. The simulator consists of the hydraulic pump, servo valve, hydraulic actuator and its control equipment. The QFT is utilized to control the simulator effectively. The control system illustrates a tracking performance of the closed-loop controller with low order transfer function G(s) and pre-filter F(s) for a parametric uncertain model. A force controller is designed to communicate the control signal between simulator and digital controller. The efficacy of the QFT force controller is verified through the numerical simulation, in which combined dynamics and actuation of the hydraulic servo system are tested. The simulation results show that the proposed control technique works well under uncertain hydraulic plant system. The conventional software (Labview) is used to make up for the real controller in the real-time basis, and the experimental works show that the proposed algorithm works well for a single road simulator.

Tracking specification is satisfied with upper and lower bound tolerances on the steep response of the system to the reference signal. The simulation results show that the proposed control technique works well under uncertain hydraulic plant system. The conventional software (Labview) is used to make up for the real controller in the real-time basis, and the experimental works show that the proposed algorithm works well for a single road simulator.

고장 허용 유도형 위치 센서 설계 (Design of Fault-Tolerant Inductive Position Sensor)

  • The position sensors used in a magnetic bearing system are desirable to provide some degree of fault-tolerance as the rotor position is necessary for the feedback control to overcome the open-loop instability. In this paper, we propose an inductive position sensor that can cope with a partial fault in the sensor. The sensor has multiple poles which can be combined to sense the in-plane motion of the rotor. When a high-frequency voltage signal drives each pole of the sensor, the resulting current in the sensor coil contains information regarding the rotor position. The signal processing circuit of the sensor extracts this position information. In this paper, we used the magnetic circuit model of the sensor that shows the analytical relationship between the sensor output and the rotor motion. The multi-polar structure of the sensor makes it possible to introduce redundancy which can be exploited for fault-tolerant operation. The proposed sensor is applied to a magnetically levitated turbo-molecular vacuum pump. Experimental results validate the fault-tolerance algorithm.

수직형 지열 열교환기(BHE)의 열성능 측정에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Thermal Performance Measurement of Vertical Borehole Heat Exchanger(BHE))

  • Knowledge of ground thermal properties is most important for the proper design of large BHE(borehole heat exchanger) systems. Thermal response tests with mobile measurement devices were first introduced in Sweden and USA in 1995. Thermal response tests have so far been used primarily for in insitu determination of design data for BHE systems, but also for evaluation of grout material, heat exchanger types and ground water effects. The main purpose has been to determine insitu values of effective ground thermal conductivity, including the effect of ground-water flow and natural convection in the boreholes. Test rig is set up on a small trailer, and contains a circulation pump, a heater, temperature sensors and a data logger for recording the temperature data. A constant heat power is injected into the borehole through the pipe system of test rig and the resulting temperature change in the borehole is recorded. The recorded temperature data are analysed with a line-source model, which gives the effective insitu values of rock thermal conductivity and borehole thermal resistance.

유수지 배수펌프 운영조작 모형의 개발 (A Study on the Development of the Operation Models for Storm Water Pumps in Detention Pond)

  • 본 연구는 도시유역에서 내수에 의한 침수를 경감시키기 위하여 유수지 및 빗물펌프장을 운영함에 있어 배수펌프를 효율적으로 조작할 수 있는 모형을 개발, 제시하였다. 유출량을 산정하기 위하여 설계강우의 재현기간을 10, 20, 30년으로 선정하였으며, 유수지로 유입되는 유출수문곡선은 SWMM모형을 이용하여 구하였고, 펌프의 동작확인을 위하여 페트리네트도 (Petri net diagrams)를 사용하였다. 또한 종합평가지표를 이용하여 펌프의 안정성과 효율성을 평가하였으며, 서울 시내 3개의 유수지에 모형을 적용하여 모형의 적용성을 확인하였다. 설계강우와 실적강우에 대한 수치실험 결과 본 연구에서 제시한 모형 중 모형 3은 기존의 배수펌프 조작모형보다 내수방재 측면에서 우수하였으며, 실시간 펌프운영조작에도 효과적으로 사용될 수 있다고 판단된다.

대형 상용차량 하이브리드 전동식 조향 시스템 주행 성능평가를 위한 HILS 시스템 개발 (Development of HILS System for Performance Evaluation of a Heavy Commercial Vehicle Hybrid Electric Power Steering System)

  • Most commercial vehicles have adopted the hydraulic power steering system. To reduce fuel consumption and to improve steering controllability, a hybrid electric power steering system is being developed for commercial vehicles. In this study, the HILS (Hardware In the Loop Simulation) system equipped with a commercial vehicle hybrid electric power steering system was developed and the vehicle dynamic performance of a truck with the steering system was evaluated. The hybrid electric power steering system is composed of the EHPS motor pump, column mounted EPS system, and ball nut steering gear box for heavy commercial vehicles. The accuracy of vehicle models equipped with the HILS system was verified with comparisons between the simulation results and field test results. The road reaction forces of the steering system were generated from the vehicle model and verified using field test results. Step steering tests using the verified HILS system were carried out and the performance of a newly developed commercial vehicle hybrid electric power steering system was evaluated.
