  • Attempts to achieve a higher productivity have led studies to focus on process improvement. Information has been found as an essential element for process improvement. This research has introduced and focused on two types of information, namely: related jobsite information along the process and feedback information. Related jobsite information along the process which needs to be processed and delivered in a timely manner, accurate, and real time is required to streamline the decision making process. Whereas feedback information about process' current practices which have to be captured and stored is a useful for continuous improvement in identifying the problem origin and determining corrective action. In the current practices, although these two types of information are essential for process improvement, construction process has faced barriers in obtaining that information. Therefore, this research will propose a new information system to overcome the aforementioned barriers. The new information system consists of RFID as an automatic identification and data collection device integrated with database to support construction processes. The new system attempts to provide related jobsite information along the process and feedback information to support decision making process and continuous process improvement respectively. A case study of prefabrication installation process in housing projects has been selected to be implemented in conceptual model of RFID application in construction industry. Conceptual model will be presented in this paper as an initial stage of this ongoing research. Expected outcomes of the new system and future works will be discussed briefly.

농촌 소유역 수환경 개선을 위한 유역관리 협의체 구성방안 - 함평천 사례를 중심으로 - (Framework of Watershed Management Organization Consortium for Water Environment Improvement of Small Rural Watershed)

  • Proper management of small rural watershed is important since it does affect water quality improvement of larger scale watershed. Therefore, effective small watershed management guideline including participatory program of local people is required to achieve water environment improvement. Feasibility of water quality goal, short and long-term watershed management plan and funding sources were investigated by field monitoring of Hampyungchun watershed which has characteristics of rural stream, and literature review. The relevant parties and their roles fer watershed management were identified and suggested. A hybrid model, that is mixture of government driven model and NGO model, is recommended for watershed management organization in this study.

소셜게임의 사회적 기능 향상에 관한 개발 모델 제안 (Study on the Development Model and Improvement of Social Function of Social Games)

  • 본 연구는 소셜게임의 사회적 기능과 개발모델에 관한 선행요인과 결과요인 및 개발 모델을 제안 분석하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 따라서 본 연구는 소셜게임 사회적 기능에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 선행변수들을 관련이론 분석과 선행연구를 통해 살펴보고, 소셜게임의 사회적 기능 개발 모델을 제시하고 분석하였다. 소셜게임의 사회적 기능 모델을 정서적 유대감, 개방적커뮤니케이션, 공동체감, 상호작용 집중에서 설명되는 항목들을 구체화하여 사회적 기능 향상 척도를 도출하였고, 다양한 소셜네트워크서비스 및 소셜게임 관련이론을 바탕으로 소셜게임 사회적 기능향상 요소를 입증하여 소셜게임 개발 모델를 제시하였다.

일선수협의 경영개선 자구노력 평가에 관한 실증분석 (An Empirical Analysis on Member Fisheries Cooperatives' Self-efforts for Managerial Improvement)

  • This study is to evaluate member fisheries cooperatives' self-effort for managerial improvement qualitatively and quantitatively. The impaired member cooperatives' got grant from National Federations of Fisheries Cooperatives for managerial improvement for 2003~2004 with establishment of MOU. This MOU describes a self-effort of memebr cooperatives' required fulfillment items for managerial improvement. From the various level of analyses, we conclude that per capita total return or ROA has direct and positive effect on the improvement of net capital ratio or profit ratio. However, other MOU items like human resource management or an investment increment did not have a correlation with it. In addition, an aggregate financial indicator, such as ROA, seems to have a positive effect on the improvement of net capital ratio or profit ratio for the group of well restructured member cooperatives, but does not for the bad performance group. This is because the good performance has leads to the improvement of net capital ratio for the well-restructured member cooperatives since there is little chance to have additional weakness. From this study we can check the proper selection of MOU items should be based on the analysis of its effect on the managerial improvement.

Productivity effects of Hanwoo genetic improvement program

  • A genetic improvement program in Korea was implemented to improve the performance of Hanwoo cattle by generating livestock with genetically desirable economic characteristics. In particular, in response to external changes, such as the expansion of Free Trade Agreement (FTA), the livestock genetic improvement program has increased farm income by improving the productivity and quality of Hanwoo cattle. Using production cost data from Statistics Korea, the total input and output indices of Hanwoo feeding cattle from 2008 - 2021 were estimated and the growth and productivity changes were analyzed. The productivity change measures results were used to estimate the cumulative effects of the Hanwoo genetic improvement program on quality improvement, another purpose of the program, using a finite distributed lag model. The average annual increase in output (market weight) of Hanwoo was 0.9%. However, total input increased by 1.6%, resulting in a 0.6% decline in total factor productivity. In contrast, the Hanwoo genetic improvement program contributed significantly to the production of high quality beef, rather than contributing to improved productivity of the cattle. Hanwoo carcass weight, which is used as a performance indicator for the livestock genetic improvement program, has significantly improved and is projected to increase at a slower rate. The collective findings indicate the need for new performance indicators that can comprehensively indicate the performance of the genetic improvement of Hanwoo.

SCAM 기상모델의 성능향상을 위한 PGI Compiler의 OpenACC 활용 (Performance Improvement of SCAM Climate Model using PGI Compiler with OpenACC)

  • 고성능 컴퓨팅 기술이 발달하고 수치 모델 방식이 고도화됨에 따라 더욱 우수한 기상예보를 진행할 수 있게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 SCAM 기상 모델에 대하여 컴파일 시간을 제외한 모델 수행시간에 대한 성능 향상을 끌어내는 것이 목적이다. 따라서, 기존의 Intel Fortran Compiler를 이용하여 수행된 모델을 PGI Fortran Compiler로 변경하였다. 이를 위해 시스템 환경 변수 재설정, 컴파일 옵션 조정, 관련 의존성 SW 및 라이브러리 설치 그리고 소스 코드를 수정하였다. 또한, 본 논문에서 제안한 PGI Compile with OpenACC 방법을 제시하고 적용하였다. 그 결과 러닝 시간의 경우 기존 Intel에서 PGI로 컴파일러가 변경되면, 러닝 시간의 경우 6.08%의 성능 향상이 되었으며, OpenACC를 추가로 적용할 경우, 기존 대비 43.05%의 성능 향상을 보여준다. 이는 본 논문에서 제안한 SCAM모델에서 PGI Compile with OpenACC 방법이 우수한 성능을 보여줄 수 있음을 입증한다.

환경인자를 이용한 직경 및 수고생장 모형 추정 (Estimation of Diameter and Height Growth Equations Using Environmental Variables)

  • 본 연구는 전통적인 empirical 생장모델에 환경 인자를 독립변수로 사용하여 이를 환경 인자에 대한 생장 모델의 변화를 분석하여 정도가 높은 생장 모형 구축 가능성 여부를 판단하였다. 이를 위하여 기본적으로 추정된 편백의 수고 및 직경 생장모델에 각 지역의 환경 인자인 평균 기온, 평균 강수량, 고도, 토양의 유기질 함유량을 독립 변수로 추가 하였다. 수고 생장 모델은 Gompertz 다형방정식에 점근 변수인 ${\alpha}$에 온도 고도 인자의 2독립 변수로 도입하여 모델의 정도를 향상 시킬 수 있었다. 직경 생장 모델 또한 Gompertz 다형방정식에 연평균 강수량과 해발고를 도입한 모델이 정도가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 환경 인자를 도입하기 전과 후의 모델의 정도 향상을 비교 했을 때 아주 뚜렷하게 모델의 향상은 나타나지 않았으나 일정 비율의 정도를 향상 시킬 수 있었다. 이는 생장 모델을 구축하기 위한 데이터 조사의 어려움 및 투자할 수 있는 예산을 감안하여 모델의 정도를 향상시키기 위하여 비교적 쉽게 구할 수 있는 환경 인자들의 이용 가능성이 많은 것으로 판단된다.

유효응력모델을 이용한 침매터널의 동적거동 해석 (Dynamic Analysis of an Immersed Tunnel using an Effective Stress Model)

  • The George Massey immersed tunnel passes the Fraser River near Vancouver, Western Canada. In this paper, dynamic analysis of the tunnel on sandy soils was performed using an effective stress constitutive model called UBCSAND. This model is able to calculate pore pressure rise and resulting tunnel deformation due to cyclic loading. Centrifuge tests conducted at RPI are used to verify the model performance. Centrifuge tests consist of 3 models: Model 1 is designed for an original ground condition, Model 2 for a ground improvement by compaction method, Model 3 for a ground improvement by gravel drainage. The results of centrifuge Model 1 are presented and compared with predictions of UBCSAND model. This model well captured the results of centrifuge test and therefore can be used to predict dynamic behavior of similar tunnels or underground structures on sandy soils.

Influence of Compressibility Modification to k-ε Turbulence Models for Supersonic Base Flow

  • An improvement to the k-${\varepsilon}$ turbulence model is presented and is shown to lead to better agreement with data regarding supersonic base flows. The improvement was achieved by imposing a grid-independent realizability constraint in the Launder-Sharma k-${\varepsilon}$ model. The effects of compressibility were also examined. The numerical results show that the modified Launder-Sharma model leads to some improvement in the prediction of the velocity and turbulent kinetic energy profiles. Compressibility corrections also lead to better agreement in both the turbulent kinetic energy and the Reynolds stress profiles with the experimental data.

타원 모델기반의 전처리 기법에 의한 얼굴 인식률 개선 (Improvement of Face Recognition Rate by Preprocessing Based on Elliptical Model)

  • 얼굴 인식률 향상을 위해서는 전처리 단계에서의 영상 보정이 매우 중요하며, 특히 배경 잡음 제거는 얼굴 인식의 정확도에 중대한 영향을 미친다. 본 논문에서는 얼굴 인식률 향상을 위하여 전처리 단계에서 타원 모델을 이용하여 배경 영역을 제거하는 방법을 제안하였다. 사람의 얼굴 윤곽은 타원의 형태를 나타내기 때문에 얼굴 영상에서 타원 모델을 이용할 경우 얼굴 영역을 용이하게 검출할 수 있다. ETRI, ORL, 및 XM2VTS 얼굴 데이터베이스에 대한 실험 분석을 통하여 제안된 방법이 얼굴 인식 성능을 뚜렷하게 개선시켰음을 알 수 있었다.
