On the Optimal Adaptive Estimation in the Semiparametric Non-linear Autoregressive Time Series Model

  • We consider the problem of optimal adaptive estiamtion of the euclidean parameter vector $\theta$ of the univariate non-linerar autogressive time series model ${X_t}$ which is defined by the following system of stochastic difference equations ; $X_t = \sum^p_{i=1} \theta_i \cdot T_i(X_{t-1})+e_t, t=1, \cdots, n$, where $\theta$ is the unknown parameter vector which descrives the deterministic dynamics of the stochastic process ${X_t}$ and ${e_t}$ is the sequence of white noises with unknown density $f(\cdot)$. Under some general growth conditions on $T_i(\cdot)$ which guarantee ergodicity of the process, we construct a sequence of adaptive estimatros which is locally asymptotic minimax (LAM) efficient and also attains the least possible covariance matrix among all regular estimators for arbitrary symmetric density.

피에조콘 시험의 유한요소 해석 I (Finite Element Analysis Piezocone Test I)

  • 본 연구에서는 피에조콘 시험의 유한요소해석을 점탄소성 bounding surface 구성모델과 large displacement large deformation 개념을 이용하여 수행하였다. 이에 따라 구성모델, 가상일의 방정식 및 관련 유한요소 식 등을 Updated Lagrangian reference frame에서 formulation 하였으며 지반의 거동은 theory of mixtures를 통하여 설명하였다. Theory of mixtures 역시 Updated Lagrangian reference frame에서 formulation하였다. 구성모델 중 점성 부분이 전체 formulation 과정에 중요한 영향을 미친다는 사실이 고찰되었다. 유한요소 해석의 결과는 실내에서 실시한 대형 모델시험의 결과와 비교, 분석하였다. Formulation 과정은 'I' 결과는 'II'에서 설명된다.

  • The experiments were performed in model conductors under the application of ac and dc high-voltages. The results of an experimental investigation into the flashover characteristics of air dielectric strength in the presence of oil/gas flame are reported. It is demonstrated that flame can reduce by more than half, 80% in maximum the breakdown voltage of a model line. Taking a horizontal model line with a k=0.5, it can be seen from the results that the reduction of flashover levels, in comparison with the no-flame case, are 78.7[%] for h=0[cm], 59.6[%] for h=3[cm], 46.4[%] for h=6[cm], 40.4[%] for h=9[cm] and 23.2[%] for h=12[cm] when ac voltage is applied.

Influence of softening curves on the residual fracture toughness of post-fire normal-strength concrete

  • The residual fracture toughness of post-fire normal-strength concrete subjected up to $600^{\circ}C$ is considered by the wedge splitting test. The initial fracture toughness $K_I^{ini}$ and the critical fracture toughness $K_I^{un}$ could be calculated experimentally. Their difference is donated as the cohesive fracture toughness $K_I^c$ which is caused by the distribution of cohesive stress on the fracture process zone. A comparative study on determining the residual fracture toughness associated with three bi-linear functions of the cohesive stress distribution, i.e. Peterson's softening curve, CEB-FIP Model 1990 softening curve and Xu's softening curve, using an analytical method is presented. It shows that different softening curves have no significant influence on the fracture toughness. Meanwhile, comparisons between the experimental and the analytical calculated critical fracture toughness values further prove the validation of the double-K fracture model to the post-fire concrete specimens.

  • The Mode I interlaminar fracture toughness of woven fabric carbon/epoxy and glass/epoxy composites for a train carbody was measured and FEM analysis was conducted. The woven fabric epoxy composite manufactured by hand lay-up, has high stiffness and strength, good resistance for impact, fatigue, corrosion and in-plane failure. The DCB(Double Cantilever Beam) specimen made of woven fabric epoxy composite had the size of 180mm $\times$ 25mm $\times$ 5mm and the insert of 65mm. The Mode I interlaminar toughness of specimen was measured according to ASTM 5528-01. The crack propagation behavior of the DCB specimen was simulated using FEA with cohesive elements that model the adhesive layer between woven fabric plies.

I/O FSM으로 명세화된 철도 신호제어용 프로토콜 검정에 관한 연구 (A Study on Verification of Rail Signal Control Protocol specified in I/O FSM)

  • The verification confirms a correspondence between requirements and a specification before implementing. The problem in the formal method verifying a protocol specification using model checking is that the protocol behaviors must be always specified in L TS(Label Transition System). But if Region Automata is applied to the model checking, it is enable to verify whether properties are true on specification specified in I/O FSM(Input/Output Finite State Machine) as well as LTS. In this paper, we verify the correctness of rail signal control protocol type 1 specified in I/O FSM by using model checking method and region automata. This removes many errors and ambiguities of an informal method used in the past and saves down expenditures and times required in the protocol development. Therefore it is expected that there will be an increase in safety, reliability and efficiency in terms of the maintenance of the signaling system by using the proposed verification methods.

  • 지난 수십년간 자동차의 배출오염물질은 대도시 대기오염의 주요 원인이 되고 있다. 이 같은 배출가스를 줄이기 위한 정책의 일환으로 배출가스 검사제도가 실시되고 있으나, 이 검사결과에 대한 배출가스 과다차량의 요인분석에 관한 연구는 미비한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 자동차 배출가스 규제가 엄격한 미국 캘리포니아주의 2002년 10월의 자동차 배출가스 검사결과 자료를 이용하여 자동차 배출가스 검사결과에 대한 이항로짓모형을 개발하고, 이를 통해 자동차의 과다배출가스에 영향을 미치는 주요 요인을 분석하였다. 모형추정결과, 차령. 주행거리, 엔진크기, 자동차 제조업체, 배기가스제어장치 장착여부, 검사방식 등이 배기가스 과다배출에 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었다.

SI 열화학 수소 생산 공정 요오드 결정화기 열-물질 수지 계산 (Calculation of Mass-Heat Balance on the Iodine Crystallizer for SI Thermochemical Hydrogen Production Process)

  • SI thermochemical hydrogen production process achieves water splitting into hydrogen and oxygen through three chemical reactions. The process is comprised of three sections and one of them is HI decomposition into $H_2$ and $I_2$ called as Section III. The production of $H_2$ included processes involving EED for concentrating a product stream from Section I. Additionally an $I_2$ crystallization would be considered to reduce burden on EED by removing certain amount of $I_2$ out of a process stream prior to EED. In this study, the current thermodynamic model of SI process was briefly described and the calculation results of the applied Electrolytes NRTL model for phase equilibrium calculations was illustrated for ternary systems of Section III. We calculated temperature and heat duty of an $I_2$ crystallizer and heat duty of heaters using UVa model and heat balance equation of simulation tool. The results were expected to be used as operation information in optimizing HI decomposition process and setting up material balance throughout SI process.

동적모델을 이용한 수질오염총량제 목표수질 설정 및 할당부하량 산정방안 연구 (The Study on Methods for Setting of Water Quality Goal and Estimation of Allocation Loads on TMDL System Using a Dynamic Water Quality Model)

  • 본 연구에서는 동적모델의 수질오염총량제 적용성을 검토하였으며, 동적모델을 이용한 목표수질 설정 및 할당부하량 산정 방법을 제시하고 그 결과를 분석하였다. 동적모델 중 HSPF 유역모형을 미호천 유역에 대하여 구축하였으며, 보정 결과 구축된 모형은 2009년~2010년에 대하여 일유량 변화와 BOD 농도 변화를 잘 재현하는 것으로 판단되었다. 동적모델을 이용한 수질오염총량제 적용 방안은 3가지 case; (1)저수기 조건을 고려한 수질관리 방법(Case I), (2)연중 전 기간을 고려한 수질관리 방법(Case II), (3)연중 최악의 수질조건을 고려한 수질관리 방법(Case III)으로 나누어 제시하였다. 미호천 유역 말단에서 각 조건에 따른 BOD 목표수질을 산정한 결과는 Case II(4.2 mg/L) < Case I(5.0 mg/L) < Case III(7.8 mg/L) 순으로 연중 전 기간을 고려한 경우에서 가장 낮고 최악조건을 고려한 경우에서 가장 높았다. 할당부하량은 Case II > Case I > Case III 순으로 높게 나타났으며 최악조건을 고려한 경우에서 가장 엄격한 할당부하량이 산정되었다. 기준 강우 선정 및 비점오염원의 모델 적용방식 등에 대한 추가연구가 필요하며, 이들이 반영된다면 수질오염총량제에 동적모델을 적용함으로 인해 좀 더 합리적이고 과학적인 수질관리가 이루어질 것이라 사료된다.

원자력발전소의 온배수 배출량을 고려한 어업생산감소율 추정 모델 (A Quantitative Model for Estimating Fishery Production Damages as a Result of Thermal Effluents from Nuclear Power Plants)

  • A quantitative model was developed in order to estimate fishery production damage due to anthropogenically induced environmental changes. The model is described in the following equation, $Y_D=\frac{{\phi}_D}{{\phi}_G}[Y_0{\cdot}(t_p-t_0)-\frac{Y_0}{{\phi}_G}(1-e^{-{\phi}_G(t_p-t_0)})]$, where, $Y_D$ is annual amount of fishery production by nuclear power plant. ${\varphi}$ D and ${\varphi}$ G are instantaneous decreasing coefficient of fishery production by nuclear power plant and instantaneous decreasing coefficient of gross fishery production, respectively. $Y_0$ is annual mean fishery production without damages. $t_p$ is the present time, and $t_0$ is the starting time of damages. The model was applied to fishing grounds near a nuclear power plant on the east coast of Korea. Since fishery production damages have become bigger with increasing emission of thermal effluents from generators activities in the power plant, this factor has also been considered as, $\delta_{D_i}=\delta_D\({\sum}\limits_{i=0}^{n}\;W_i/W_T\)$, where, $\delta_{Di}$ is the cumulative damage rate in fishery production from generators, $\delta_D$ is the total cumulative damage rate in fishery production, $W_i$ is the emission amount of thermal effluents by generator i, and n is the number of generators in the nuclear power plant. This model can be used to conduct initial estimates of fishery production damages, before more detailed assessments are undertaken.
