Technologies for disaster management are highly sought areas for research and commercial deployment. Landslides, Flood, cyclones, earthquakes, forest fires and road/train accidents are some causes of disasters. Capturing video and accessing data in real time from the disaster site can help first responders make split second decisions which may save human lives and valuable resource destructions. In this context the communication technologies performing the task should have high bandwidth and low latency which only 5G can deliver. But unfortunately in India, deployment of the 5G mobile communication systems is yet to give a shape and again in remote areas unavailability of 4G signals is still severe. In this situation the authors have proposed, simulated and experimented a 4G-5G communication scheme where from the disaster site the signals will be transmitted by a 5G terminal to a nearby 4G-5G gateway installed in a mobile vehicle. The received 5G signal will be further relayed by the 4G-5G gateway to the fixed 4G base station for onward transmission towards the disaster management station for decision making, deployment and relief monitoring. The 4G-5G gateway acts as a relay and converter of 5G signal to 4G signal and vice versa. This relayed system can be further mounted on a vehicle mounted relay (VMR) as proposed by 3GPP in Release 18. The scheme is also in the same line of context with Verizon's, "Tactical Humanitarian Operations Response" (THOR) vehicle concept. The performance of the link is studied in different channel conditions, the throughput achieved is superb. The authors have implemented the above mentioned system towards smart campus networking and monitoring landslides activities which are common in their regions.

It is not easy to identify the location of mobile terminals based on drones in the mountainous area, the densely populated urban area, or the space where mobile terminals can easily move by using equipments or modules that can recognize the location of sensors or mobile terminals with LBS (Location-Based Service). However, although the performance of GPS has developed due to the development of technology, it is still widely used in position recognition systems using GPS modules in the sea and onshore, and there is much room for more utilization. Currently, most of the existing sensor networks need to send at least three location information messages to mobile terminals with location information that a plurality of mobile base stations depend on GPS. However, location recognition of mobile repeaters that maintain a certain movement speed using acceleration sensors is necessary for efficient communication network connection.

Existing wireless access (mobile) routers are based commonly on the network address and port translation (NAPT) technique which permits simultaneously sharing a subscriber's connection to the network with multiple users. However, the NAPT architecturally makes the users invisible on the network side, thus becoming a user-oriented connection technique. In this paper, we propose a novel service provider-oriented unlicensed nomadic access relay station (WiNNERS) for helping wireless broadband network service providers to make their business more lucrative by accommdating unlicensed band users as subscribers into their network. The WiNNERS offers service providers the capability to directly manage each of the unlicensed band users at the network side. This direct management allows the service providers to flexibly and simply handle QoS, access control, and billing for each user. In order to distinguish each of the unlicensed band users the WiNNERS constructs a virtual tunnel from each user's terminal to the network access router using connection identifiers which is defined for service flow management within the WiBro system, Consequently, our proposed service provider-oriented relay station can be included into the WiBro network system with minimum modifications.

The transmitted signal from a source is transmitted to a destination through wireless channels. But if the mobile destination is out of the coverage of the source or exists in the shady side of the coverage, the destination can not receiver the signal from the source and they can not maintain communication. In order to overcome these problems, we adopt relays. A system employing relays is a multi-hop relay system. In the multi-hop relay system, coverages of each relay that is used for different systems can overlap each other in some place. When there is a destination in this place, interference occurs at the destination. In this paper, we study on the efficient co-channel interference (CCI) cancellation algorithm. In the proposed strategy, CCI is mitigated by zero forcing (ZF) or minimum mean square error (MMSE) receivers. Moreover, successive interference cancellation (SIC) with optimal ordering algorithm is applied for rejecting CCI efficiently. And we analyzed and simulated the proposed system performance in Rayleigh fading channel. In order to justify the benefit of the proposed strategy, the overall system performance is illustrated in terms of bit error probability.

In this paper, stochastic models for the cross-correlation of multiple channels are established based on measurement data collected using a wideband multiple-input multiple-output relay Band Exploration and Channel Sounder system at 3.7 GHz. We propose models for the cross-correlation characteristics of large-scale parameters (LSPs) between two links, that is, the base station and mobile station (MS) link and the relay station and MS link. The LSPs include shadow fading, Rician K-factor, delay spread, angle spread of arrival, and angle spread of departure. Furthermore, models are established for the cross-correlation of the small-scale fading in the impulse responses of two links. The statistics of these model parameters are investigated as functions of geometrical features of the multilink. They are extracted from a large amount of cross-correlation observations, which are obtained in three measurement sites along more than one hundred measurement routes. These models can be used together with the standard single-link channel models for the generation of correlated components, for example, path clusters, in two separate channels.

Recently, MIMO technology, which can improve data rate, link reliability and diversity order, has been widely studied. However, due to the limitation of size, cost and complexity, it is difficult to equip multiple antennas in mobile devices. To overcome this problem, the cooperative communication scheme has been proposed. In this scheme, each terminal shares its single antenna to form a virtual MIMO environment. However, in conventional cooperative scheme, e.g, decode-and-forward, amplify and forward, the spectral efficiency is decreased if there are many terminals taking part in the cooperation. Therefore, the incremental relaying scheme has been proposed to solve this problem. In this paper, we consider various models using incremental relaying technique. In addition, the position of relay is investigated in order to obtain optimal performance.

Nodes in MANETs are battery powered which makes energy an invaluable resource. In OLSR, MPRs are special nodes that are selected by other nodes to relay their data/control traffic which may lead to high energy consumption of MPR nodes. Therefore, employing energy efficient MPR selection mechanism is imperative to ensure prolonged network lifetime. However, misbehaving MPR nodes tend to preserve their energy by dropping packets of other nodes instead of forwarding them. This leads to huge energy loss and performance degradation of existing energy efficient MPR selection schemes. This paper proposes an energy efficient secure MPR selection (ES-MPR) technique that takes into account both energy and security metrics for MPR selection. It introduces the concept of 'Composite Eligibility Index' (CEI) to examine the eligibility of a node for being selected as an MPR. CEI is used in conjunction with willingness to provide distinct selection parameters for Flooding and Routing MPRs. Simulation studies reveal the efficiency of ES-MPR in selection of energy efficient secure and stable MPRs, in turn, prolonging the network operational lifetime.

Recently, an application business model was proposed to implement an M-coupon system using the NFC-based mobile devices. In this paper, the security requirements were surveyed for a secure M-coupon system and to analyze the threats on the existing NFC-based M-coupon protocols. After considering the implementation efficiency and security, this paper presents a novel M-coupon protocol based on the Diffie-Hellman key agreement scheme. This protocol can be an alternative to solve the security problems related to the PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) and secret key distribution. Furthermore, this M-coupon protocol is designed to provide user authentication and counteract the relay attack.

As a new alternative communication scheme in 5G, unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is used as a relay in the remote base station (BS) for assistant communication. In order to ameliorate the quality of the backhaul link, a UAV backhaul transmission scheme based on improved Nash equilibrium (NE) strategy is proposed. First, the capacity of air-to-ground (A2G) channel by the link preprocess is maximized. Then, the maximum utility function of each UAV is used as the basis of obtaining NE point according to the backhaul channel and the backhaul congestion. Finally, the improved NE strategy is applied in multiple iterations until maximum utility functions of all the UAVs are reached, and the UAVs which are rejected by air-to-air (A2A) link during the process would participate in the source recovery process to construct a multi-hop backhaul network. Simulation results show that average effective backhaul rate, minimum effective backhaul rate increases by 10%, 28.5% respectively in ideal A2G channel, and 11.8%, 42.3% respectively in fading channel, comparing to pure NE strategy. And the average number of iterations is decreased by 5%.
