Consumer Characteristics and Shopping for Fashion in the Omni-channel Retail Environment

  • Purpose: Omni-channel retailing is a new retail phenomenon. Consumers in the omni-channel environment do not rely on one channel but integrate different channels from the same retailers freely during a particular shopping journey. The purpose of this study is to better understand omni-channel shoppers in the fashion retailing context. The present study uses consumer characteristics -- fashion innovativeness, technology innovativeness, and fashion purchase involvement -- as determinants predicting consumers' omni-channel shopping intentions for fashion products. Research design, data, and methodology: Data were collected from 403 U.S. consumers, and the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was performed to test proposed hypotheses. The survey for this research consisted of three parts. The first part measured consumer traits in terms of their innovativeness and purchase involvement. The second part was designed to measure consumers' omni-channel shopping intentions, and the third part gathered consumer demographic information. Results: The findings confirmed that fashion innovativeness, technology innovativeness, and fashion purchase involvement positively affected consumers' omni-channel shopping intentions. Conclusions: Fashion retailers should integrate various customer touchpoints and offer mobile-enabled technologies to boost consumer traffic to both online and offline stores. They also need to create a shopping environment that is optimized for customer engagement in various shopping processes and allow them to explore different shopping channel options for best purchase decisions.

Acceleration of the Customer Education Paradox by a Smartphone

  • This paper primarily intends to explore whether smartphones accelerate the customer education paradox. Smartphone usage is becoming a mainstream habit, and it is changing people's shopping experience and conventional practices, hence presenting new challenges to the market. A smartphone affects customers strongly when they are trying to choose a product/service among a variety of options, and making purchase decisions. With smartphones bringing such changes and challenges to the market, especially to the companies and stores, it is important to understand market trends in order to retain the loyalty of existing customers as well as to attract new buyers. Therefore, companies and stores should offer enhanced and better technical service quality, along with the use of tools such as QR codes. Further, mobile based websites would offer a suitable approach in assisting customers using smartphones to obtain better information of greater value. The results of this study imply that there is an opportunity for organizations to design various methods of imparting customer education by using smartphones, such as loading applications on a smartphone that lead to more information with good quality and present real benefits regarding the products/services.

위성 DMB용 마이크로스트립 안테나 설계 및 제작 (Design and Implementation of A Microstrip Antenna for Satellite-DMB)

  • 본 논문에서는 2.65GHz 위성 DMB 대역의 마이크로스트립 안테나를 설계 및 제작하고 이 특성을 바탕으로 단말기에 응용가능한 안테나를 설계하고 제작하였다. 2.65GHz 위성 DMB 대역의 마이크로 스트립 안테나를 CST Microwave Studio 프로그램으로 설계하고 시뮬레이션 특성을 기술하였다. 그리고 마이크로스트립 안테나를 이용하여 단말기에 이용될 수 있게 안테나를 설계 제작하였으며 실제 제작된 안테나의 성능을 측정하였다. 그 결과, 실제 상용화 되고 있는 안테나와 비슷한 성능이 나타났고 안테나가 이용될 수 있는 대역도 광대역의 특성을 보였다.

포렌식 자료의 무결성 확보를 위한 수사현장의 연계관리 방법 연구 (A Study on the Chain of Custody for Securing the Faultlessness of Forensic Data)

  • 컴퓨터 포렌식은 정보통신 기술의 순기능을 보호하고 역기능에 대한 증거를 추출하여 법정에 제출하는 과정을 다루게 된다. 컴퓨터 수사 현장에서 디지털증거의 무결성이 훼손된다면, 결정적인 증거가 기각당하거나 재판의 증거로서 채택되지 않는다. 본 논문에서는 이 문제점을 해결하는 방안으로 포렌식 자료의 무결성 확보를 위한 디스크 포렌식의 연계방안, 시스템 포렌식의 연계방안, 네트워크 포렌식의 연계방안, 모바일 포렌식의 연계방안, 데이터베이스 폰렌식의 연계방안을 연구한다. 제안된 연계방안으로 무결성이 입증되면, 수사 결과물들이 범죄 수사현장과 재판의 중요 증거 자료로 채택하게 될 것이다. 또한 실제 컴퓨터 포렌식 수사 현장에서의 디지털증거의 연계방안의 현장 수사의 문제점의 사례와 대안을 제시함으로서, 컴퓨터 디지털 포렌식의 발전과 정보보호의 현장 연구에 기여하게 될 것이다.

박형 도광판의 고속사출성형을 위한 수지 점도 측정 및 수치해석 (Measurement of Viscosity and Numerical Analysis of High Speed Injection Molding for Thin-Walled LGP)

  • The light guide plate has become the major component for the backlight module in general information technology products (e.g. mobile phones, monitors, etc.). High speed injection molding has been adopted for thin walled LGP giving advantages such as weight, shape, size, and reduction in production costs. In the current study, the rheological characteristics of high liquidity plastic resin PC(HL8000) were measured using a capillary rheometer to improve the reliability of the numerical analysis for high speed injection molding. With the measured viscosity and PVT of PC(HL8000), numerical analysis of injection molding was conducted using the simulation software(Moldflow). Filling time and deflection were predicted and compared with those of traditional PC resins(H3000, H4000). The results show that PC(HL8000) has significantly different rheological characteristics during high speed injection molding. Hence proper properties of the resin should be used to improve the accuracy of numerical predictions.

  • The world gross market of many kinds of electronics, such as TV and mobile phone has been increasing rapidly these days. It is mainly caused by the amazing developments of IT technology during past decade and the changes of individual life style for the better. Thanks to the increases of electronics manufactured in quantity, much more electronic components such as MLCC (multi layer ceramic capacitor) and PCB (printed circuit board), which are our main products, have been needed as a consequence. Though it was reported that total market of electronic components exceeds several hundreds of billion dollars, there are many manufactures struggling for survival in the competition of electronics components. Then the recognition of quality as a key technology has spread and the efforts for high-yield production lines have been kept in many companies. In this paper, our efforts to eliminate the contamination of particles and the diffusion of some volatile organic compounds which is very harmful to workers at production line have been introduced.

  • The Internet has become one of the most important channels for people to communicate and for companies to implement their sales promotion activities, such as advertising. Marketing and advertising attempt to influence customers' attitude to persuade them to choose to buy the advertisers' products instead of the competitors'. With the different forms of online marketing, such as search engine marketing, email marketing, and mobile marketing, advertisers can find more effective strategies to attract the attention of more targeted audiences. With the emergence of the social web (web 2.0), a new platform was introduced called social networks. This paper presents the current work in internet marketing activities until web 2.0, and conducts a social network analysis to aid in data extraction. Marketing and advertising companies have understood the power of information for a very long time. The more knowledge these companies have on the demographics, consumer habits, and preferences of particular customer types, the more they can tailor their product offerings, and the more sales they can make. This paper aims to understand the internet marketing concepts as well as present challenges and work directions in internet marketing.

조임 및 풀림 해석을 이용한 나사산 형상 설계 (Thread Shape Design Using Joining and Release Analysis of Bolts)

  • As the sizes of mobile phones and watch phones decrease, the joining bolt for the products should also be decreased to a miniature size. However, the miniature-sized bolt has to support sufficient joining and anti-releasing torque to keep the product fastened. In this study, the thread shapes are designed to improve anti-releasing performance of bolts. Especially, when bolt materials is stronger than nut materials, the design of thread shapes is needed, like bolt for wood, to improve the fastening capability. Through the joining and releasing analyses of bolts, the thread shapes for SUS302 bolt and Mg alloy nut are newly designed. It was shown that the newly designed bolt has 20 % higher anti-releasing torque and 35% lower torque loosening slope compared to the standard bolt.

초소형 나사 단조시 접힘결함 향상을 위한 유한요소해석 (Finite Element Analysis for Improvement of Folding Defects in the Forging Process of Subminiature Screws)

  • Recent trends to reduce the size of mobile electronics products have driven miniaturization of various components, including screw parts for assembling components. Considering that the size reduction of screws may degenerate their joining capabilities, the size reduction should not be limited to the thread region but should be extended to its head region. The screw head is usually manufactured by forging in which a profiled punch presses a billet so that plastic deformation occurs to form the desired shape. In this study, finite element (FE) analysis was performed to simulate the forging process of a subminiature screw; a screw head of 1.7 mm diameter is formed out of a 0.82 mm diameter billet. The FE analysis result indicates that this severe forging condition leads to a generation of folding defects. FE analyses were further performed to find appropriate punch design parameters that minimize the amount of folding defects.

정보기술 혁신 제품에 대한 거부와 수용에 관한 연구: 일반 휴대전화 사용자의 스마트폰 사용의도를 중심으로 (A Study on Rejection and Acceptance for Innovative Products of Information Technology - Based on Usage Intention of Smartphone of Mobile Phone Users -)

  • 본 연구에서는 정보기술 혁신 제품이 출시되었을 때 소비자가 수용하는 과정에서 혁신 제품의 유용성 기대와 혁신제품에 대한 거부의 요인에 의해 사용의도가 형성된다는 관점에서 혁신 제품의 수용과정을 연구하였다. 휴대전화 사용자들 중 스마트폰을 사용하지 않는 소비자들을 대상으로 실증연구를 하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 정보기술 혁신제품에 대한 소비자의 유용성 기대는 사용의도에 정적(+)으로 영향을 미치고, 혁신 제품에 대한 거부감은 부적(+)으로 영향을 미치며, 유용성 기대는 거부감에 부적(-)으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 소비자의 혁신 제품에 대한 유용성 기대에 정적(+)으로 영향을 미치는 요인으로 사회적 요인이 있었고, 기존 제품에 대한 만족은 유용성 기대에 부적(-)으로 영향을 미쳤다. 셋째, 소비자의 혁신 제품 거부에 영향을 미치는 요인들로 소비자의 기존 제품에 대한 만족과 소요되는 노력 예상이 있었다. 이러한 연구결과들에 근거하여, 소비자가 정보기술 혁신 제품에 대해 유용성을 기대하더라도 거부감을 가지고 있다면 해당 제품을 사용할 의도를 갖지 않기 때문에 이에 대한 전략이 필요하다.
