  • MANET(Mobile Ad-Hoc Network)의 라우팅 기능에 대한 공격인 홀 공격은 네트워크 전송성능에 중요한 영향을 미친다. MANET은 단말기만으로 구성되는 임시 네트워크로 악성공격에 대한 대응이 쉽지 않아 홀 공격에 매우 취약하여 전송성능에 치명적인 영향을 받을 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 홀공격의 일종은 그레이홀 공격이 MANET의 전송 성능에 미치는 영향을 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 사용하여 분석하여 본다. 연구의 대상 트래픽으로는 음성 트래픽을 사용하였으며, 그레이홀 공격의 영향을 블랙홀 공격과 비교하여 본다. 본 연구의 방법과 결과는 MANET에서 악성공격에 대응하기 위한 자료로 활용될 수 있다.

  • In this paper, we propose an obstacle avoidance algorithm for a network-based autonomous mobile robot. The obstacle avoidance algorithm is based on the VFH (Vector Field Histogram) algorithm and delay-compensative methods with the VFH algorithm are proposed for the network-based robot that is a unified system composed of distributed environmental sensors, mobile actuators, and the VFH controller. Firstly, the compensated readings of the sensors are used for building the polar histogram of the VFH algorithm. Secondly, a sensory fusion using the Kalman filter is proposed for the localization of the robot to compensate both the delay of the readings of an odometry sensor and the delay of the readings of the environmental sensors. The performance enhancements of the proposed obstacle avoidance algorithm from the viewpoint of efficient path generation and accurate goal positioning are also shown in this paper through some simulation experiments by the Marilou Robotics Studio Simulator.

A Study of Mobile Edge Computing System Architecture for Connected Car Media Services on Highway

  • The new mobile edge network architecture has been required for an increasing amount of traffic, quality requirements, advanced driver assistance system for autonomous driving and new cloud computing demands on highway. This article proposes a hierarchical cloud computing architecture to enhance performance by using adaptive data load distribution for buses that play the role of edge computing server. A vehicular dynamic cloud is based on wireless architecture including Wireless Local Area Network and Long Term Evolution Advanced communication is used for data transmission between moving buses and cars. The main advantages of the proposed architecture include both a reduction of data loading for top layer cloud server and effective data distribution on traffic jam highway where moving vehicles require video on demand (VOD) services from server. Through the description of real environment based on NS-2 network simulation, we conducted experiments to validate the proposed new architecture. Moreover, we show the feasibility and effectiveness for the connected car media service on highway.

부하 조절을 지원하는 이동환자 상시 모니터링 시스템 시뮬레이션 (Simulation of a Mobile Patient Monitoring System with Load-balancing)

  • A Wireless Sensor Network(WSN) is a promising infrastructure for the future U-healthcare system. In a WSN for the U-healthcare system, both biometric data and location data are transferred hierarchically from lots of mobile patients to the base station server and some countermeasures are made in real time if necessary. In this process, we encounter the load-balancing problem when many patients gather in a specific area. We also encounter the data duplication problem when each patient moves into an area monitored by several supervisors. The second problem is closely related to the first one. In this paper, we propose a mobile patient monitoring system with priority-based policy in load-balancing to solve the previous two problems and perform a DEVS Java-based system simulation to verify the system efficiency.

인터넷에서 사용자 이동성을 고려한 이동성 제어 방식 (A Mobility Management Scheme by Considering User Mobility in Internet)

  • 셀룰러 망 환경에서 인터넷 호스트의 이동성을 지원하기 위하여, 본 논문에서는 Mobile IP의 단점을 보완할 수 있는 적응적 이동성 제어 방식과 이러한 방식을 구현하기 위한 프로토콜을 제안한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 방식은 사용자의 이동성에 따라 외부 에이전트의 의탁주소를 적응적으로 결정한다. 따라서, 제안된 방식은 외부 도메인의 게이트웨이를 외부 에이전트로 지정하는 기존의 마이크로 이동성 지원 방안들과는 다르다. 이렇게 적응적 방식을 사용하면, 셀룰러 망에서 다양한 환경에 적합한 서비스 품질을 사용자들에게 효과적으로 제공할 수 있다. 또한 핸드오버를 자주 하여 발생하는 Mobile IP의 신호 부하도 줄일 수 있다. 제안된 방식의 성능을 시뮬레이션을 통하여 검토해 본 결과, 이동 노드에게 비교적 안정된 접속점을 제공할 수 있음을 알 수 있었다.

무선 ATM 망에서 멀티미디어 지원을 위한 슬롯 할당에 관한 연구 (A study on slot allocation for supporting multimedia on wireless ATM network)

  • The next generation of wireless network will be problably developed as a mobile communications which will support ATM-based multiMedium traffic. We need to develop an dffective MAC protocol in order to support multimedia traffic having variety of QoS characteristics on wireless neteworks. In this paper, we propose a MAC protocol a MAC protocol where mobile terminals having cells to transmit, request slots to base station through requested slot then the base station analyze parameters from mobile and allocate slots to mobile according to priority. The multimedia slot allocation(MSA) protocol divides multimedias applications into real-time/ variant and non real-time services. Entire slots of the frameare partitioned proportionallyby sizeof bandwidth according to types of services, so that related services can use allocated-slots in priority. The proposed algorithm guarantees real time operation since real-time service share slots allocated for non real-real services. The algorithm whih divides slots of the frame is called as an Algorithm A, otherwise as an Algorithm B. The simulation compares by average delay time and cell loss probability between Algorithm and Algorithm B by increasing number of mobile terminal using the proposed MAC protocol. the simulation result for real-time services shows that average delay time and cell loss probability of Algorithm A is better than those of Algorithm B.

도시 교통량 특성을 반영한 이동통신 시뮬레이터의 설계 및 구현 (A Design and Implementation of the Mobile Communication Simulator with Urban Traffic Characteristics)

  • Traditionally, Mobile Teletraffic model consists of two sub-models, i.e. the network traffic model and the traffic source model. In this paper, we present the traffic source model by developing MobCall (Mobile Call Simulator) which analyses various mobile wireless environments based on regional characteristics that the base stations are located. User mobility is presented by regional average vehicle speeds and the transportation share rate. Moreover, the user mobility on subway, which is increasing in urban area, is considered in MobCall. And also, user's movements on highway are considered in MobCall. The object-oriented simulation platform, C++SIM, is used to implement MobCall. Using MobCall, the accumulated number of calls in residential and commercial regions, the handoff rate with respect to traffic sources of Seoul, the handoff rate on highway, and the handoff rate according to the call duration are presented. MobCall enables the simulation of dynamic handoff buffering and functional entity control of one base station according to the changes in user's calling pattern at the design phase. Also, when a new town is under construction by a detailed plan, MobCall is used to design the mobile network with regional characteristics and user mobility considered.

고속철도 환경에서 이중 이동 라우터를 이용한 끊김없는 핸드오버 방안 (A Seamless Handover Scheme for High-Speed Trains using Dual Mobile Routers)

  • 본 논문은 고속철도 환경에서 이중 이동 라우터를 이용한 끊김없는 핸드오버 방안을 제안한다. 제안한 방안은 철도차량의 앞과 뒤에 두 개의 이동 라우터를 배치하여 핸드오버 수행시기 차이를 이용한다. 이중 이동 라우터 중 하나가 핸드오버를 수행하더라도 다른 이동 라우터가 계속해서 패킷을 수신할 수 있으므로 네트워크 전체적으로는 끊김없는 서비스가 가능하지만, 두 개의 이동 라우터는 논리적으로 하나로 동작하게 된다. 수학적 해석 및 시뮬레이션 결과 제안한 방안은 핸드오버 시 서비스 중단 시간 및 패킷 손실을 방지할 수 있음을 알 수 있었다.

A Study on Voice Communication Quality Criteria Under Mobile-VoIP Environments

  • In this paper, we present criteria of objective measurement of speech quality to provide the mobile-VoIP services efficiently over wireless mobile internet. The mobile-VoIP service, which is based on mobility and is error-prone compared to conventional VoIP over wired network, is about to be launched, but there have not been adequate quality indexes and the Quality of Service (QoS) standards for evaluating speech quality of Mobile-VoIP. In addition, there are many factors influencing on the speech quality in packet network of which packet loss contribute directly to the overall voice communication quality. For this reason, we adopt the Gilbert-Elliot Channel Model for modeling packet network based on IP and assess the voice quality through the objective speech method of ITU-T P. 862 PESQ and ITU-T P. 862.1 MOS-LQO under various packet loss rates in the transmission channel environments. Our simulation results address the specific criteria and QoS for the mobile-VoIP services in terms of the various packet loss environments.

A Heuristic Algorithm for Optimal Facility Placement in Mobile Edge Networks

  • Installing caching and computing facilities in mobile edge networks is a promising solution to cope with the challenging capacity and delay requirements imposed on future mobile communication systems. The problem of optimal facility placement in mobile edge networks has not been fully studied in the literature. This is a non-trivial problem because the mobile edge network has a unidirectional topology, making existing solutions inapplicable. This paper considers the problem of optimal placement of a fixed number of facilities in a mobile edge network with an arbitrary tree topology and an arbitrary demand distribution. A low-complexity sequential algorithm is proposed and proved to be convergent and optimal in some cases. The complexity of the algorithm is shown to be $O(H^2{\gamma})$, where H is the height of the tree and ${\gamma}$ is the number of facilities. Simulation results confirm that the proposed algorithm is effective in producing near-optimal solutions.
