Design and Implementation of the Mobile Flash for Flash Game on Mobile Terminals (휴대 단말기에서 플래시 게임을 위한 Mobile Flash의 설계 및 구현)

  • As an improvement of the CPU performance of mobile terminals and an increase of user requirements for multimedia services, various multimedia services and applications have been developed and served over mobile platforms. In this paper, we describe the design and implementation of the Mobile Flash which is one of the famous services in mobile platforms with the limitation of hardware resources. The Mobile flash is an optimized solution for mobile terminals of the Flash, which has been used in the Internet browsers not less than 95% in the world for playing various types of contents such as animations, games, contents for education, e-commerce.

A Multimedia Contents Recommendation for Mobile Web Users

  • As mobile market grows more and more fast, the mobile contents market, especially music contents for mobile phones have recorded remarkable growth. In spite of this rapid growth, mobile web users experience high levels of frustration to search the desired music. New musics are very profitable to the content providers, but the existing collaborative filtering (CF) system can't recommend them. To solve these problems, we propose an extended CF system to reflect the user's real preference by representing the characteristics of users and musics in the feature space. We represent the musics using the music contents based acoustic features in multi-dimensional feature space, and then select a neighborhood with the distance based function. Furthermore, this paper suggests a recommendation for procedure for new music by matching new music with other users' preference. The suggested procedure is explained step by step with an illustration example.

  • 본 논문에서는 반도체 생산 공정 중 클리닝 공정 과정에서 웨이퍼가 정확한 위치에 장착되었는지를 판단하기 위하여 투영 변환을 이용하여 원형 모양 웨이퍼로 복원하고 에지를 추출한 후 일반화 대칭 변환(Generalized Symmetry Transform, GST) 방법을 적용하여 웨이퍼의 윤곽을 검출하여 위치를 검사하는 방법을 제안한다.

  • The advancement of wireless technology improves the electronic learning by combining with the mobile function, and promotes the expanded transition to the mobile learning. Basically, the mobile learning provides the usefulness in terms of tile and space to provide learners with the access to the educational contents. However, the small display device and limited memory space of mobile device is limiting the access to the learning contents simply to the text-based transmission. This paper designed and implemented the multimedia mobile learning system that reduces the size of parser by define into MSMIL composed only of needed tag to multimedia contents production in the mobile devices by using the SMIL that supports the multimedia object synchronization reduces the data of multimedia learning data and enhances the transmission efficiency by applying the macro method in creating the contents of learning. The results of implementation indicates that it simplifies the designing language, makes the language learning easy, and saves the CPU resources for the parsing by reducing the size of parser.

Research on the Design of TPO(Time, Place, 0Occasion)-Shift System for Mobile Multimedia Devices (휴대용 멀티미디어 디바이스를 위한 TPO(Time, Place, Occasion)-Shift 시스템 설계에 대한 연구)

  • While the broadband network and multimedia technology are being developed, the commercial market of digital contents as well as using IPTV has been widely spreading. In this background, Time-Shift system is developed for requirement of multimedia. This system is independent of Time but is not independent of Place and Occasion. For solving these problems, in this paper, we propose the TPO(Time, Place, Occasion)-Shift system for mobile multimedia devices. The profile that can be applied to the mobile multimedia devices is much different from that of the setter-box. And general mobile multimedia devices could not have such large memories that is for multimedia data. So it is important to continuously store and manage those multimedia data in limited capacity with mobile device's profile. Therefore we compose the basket in a way using defined time unit and manage these baskets for effective buffer management. In addition. since the file name of basket is made up to include a basket's time information, we can make use of this time information as DTS(Decoding Time Stamp). When some multimedia content is converted to be available for portable multimedia devices, we are able to compose new formatted contents using such DTS information. Using basket based buffer systems, we can compose the contents by real time in mobile multimedia devices and save some memory. In order to see the system's real-time operation and performance, we implemented the proposed TPO-Shift system on the basis of mobile device, MS340. And setter-box are desisted by using directshow player under Windows Vista environment. As a result, we can find the usefulness and real-time operation of the proposed systems.

  • In this research, a watermarking scheme for multimedia content service under the mobile envrionment is proposed. The proposed watermarking scheme that adds robustness to the errors occured in the mobile envrionment existing the pathloss, fading, interference and noise was designed. In case of the multimedia content service under the mobile envrionment, Possible methods for important matters to be considered for the copyright protection, construction of the watermark and position of insertion and detection are also proposed. It is observed that a watermark is composed of information of the mobile user Insertion and detection of the watermark is implemented with CDMA technique in the frequency region.

An Efficient WLAN Device Power Control Technique for Streaming Multimedia Contents over Mobile IP Storage (모바일 IP 스토리지 상에서 멀티미디어 컨텐츠 실행을 위한 효율적인 무선랜 장치 전력제어 기법)

  • Mobile IP storage has been proposed to overcome storage limitation in the flash memory and hard disks. It provides almost capacity-free space for mobile devices over wireless IP networks. However, battery lifetime of the mobile devices is reduced rapidly because of power consumption with continuous use of a WLAN device when multimedia contents are being streamed through the mobile IP storage. This paper proposes an energy-efficient WLAN device power control technique for streaming multimedia contents with the mobile IP storage. The proposed technique consists of a prefetch buffer input/output module, a WLAN device power control module, and a reconfigurable prefetch buffer module. Besides, it adaptively determines the size of the prefetch buffer according to a quality of the multimedia contents, and it dynamically controls the power mode of the WLAN device on the basis of power on-off operations while streaming the multimedia contents. We evaluate the performance of the proposed technique on a PXA270-based mobile device that employs the embedded linux 2.6.11, Intel iSCSI reference codes, and a WLAN device. Extensive experiments reveal that the proposed technique can save the energy consumption of the WLAN device up to 8.5 times with QVGA multimedia contents, as compared with no power control.

  • Fast handover is essential to support seamless multicast service in MIPv6. To reduce handover latency of multicast, there are two handover mechanisms, one is M-FMIP that prepares fast L3 handover before L2 handover and the other is M-HMIP that performs local area mobile multicast management. This paper proposes M-FHMIP that integrates an advantage of M-FMIP and M-HMIP, and analyzes the multicast handover latency.

A Personalized Recommender System for Mobile Commerce Applications (모바일 전자상거래 환경에 적합한 개인화된 추천시스템)

  • In spite of the rapid growth of mobile multimedia contents market, most of the customers experience inconvenience, lengthy search processes and frustration in searching for the specific multimedia contents they want. These difficulties are attributable to the current mobile Internet service method based on inefficient sequential search. To overcome these difficulties, this paper proposes a MOBIIe COntents Recommender System for Movie(MOBICORS-Movie), which is designed to reduce customers' search efforts in finding desired movies on the mobile Internet. MOBICORS-Movie consists of three agents: CF(Collaborative Filtering), CBIR(Content-Based Information Retrieval) and RF(Relevance Feedback). These agents collaborate each other to support a customer in finding a desired movie by generating personalized recommendations of movies. To verify the performance of MOBICORS-Movie, the simulation-based experiments were conducted. The results from this experiments show that MOBICORS-Movie significantly reduces the customer's search effort and can be a realistic solution for movie recommendation in the mobile Internet environment.
