  • Recently, as changes in the office environment, office furniture are changing at a rapid pace. With the development of various smart devices specialized in work type, the concepts of office environment and office furniture are diversified. New furniture design is presented with the new concept of work format and changes to the space, an example of a compact single-person storage space is required.

  • The invention and development of digital computer networks since the post-modern culture and creating new ideas, and in nearly all areas since the industrial revolution has had the greatest impact. A new paradigm for the 21st century, the Internet and ubiquitous, and mobile devices are being created by the new culture is being created. Rapidly being replaced by digital and analog, and 'Digilog' fusion concept has appeared. In addition, the development of computer cyberspace culture, art, design and structure are changing. In the field of furniture design, changing design processes and innovative design philosophy that change is now occurring. These symptoms experienced at the same time, almost every country on Earth is a phenomenon. Since the 20th century, computer network design based on the relationship between digital and cyber culture espoused by philosophers studied society and organic modernism and organic design of digital-based differences are confirmed through the case. Using digital technology, modeling case study of a furniture designer in cyber space and the creation of human capabilities and the fusion of computing power will be studied in modern furniture design.

  • Due to the information technology improvement and the changing life style, a home is getting a new role of workspace besides the main function as rest area for the family members. Therefore, a demand for the home workstation furniture is increasing nowadays. In this study, three types of workstation furniture id designed, that makes possible the effective works and reflects the characteristics of the house. 1. Panel-based system furniture : main concept is flexibility and expandability, and various units can be composed as desired. 2. Cabinet-type workstation : all functions needed for the home office work is concentrated in a piece of furniture. 3. Movable multi-purpose furniture : small-sized, mobile furniture that functions as a simple workstation or a side station. Home office has a great possibility as a work place for the future, and there is a continuous need for the furniture design with diverse form and function.

  • The most important issue of today in design genre is the comprehensive design that overcomes the limitations of the rational and logical designs of functionalism that has had influences in entire 20th century and encompasses even the emotional aspect of humans. The emotional design factors in furniture designs will be analyzed in order to analyze their effects and values on the consumers of present times. The emotional uses of the patterns with the motive of nature expressing papers, flowers, wood textures, natural phenomena etc as they are and the colors with the vivid feeling of primary colors represent more dynamic and cheerful life style and the designs are characterized by the warm primary colors that give the feeling that the nature has been transferred to the designs as it is. Diverse materials such as leather, fur, fabric and the materials with soft and flexible feeling such as silicone material have been used more widely and they are used as the materials expressing freedom not being formalized. The designs that can produce diverse spaces desired by users by gathering unit modules can be said to be the outcome of the emotional designs combined with the needs of modern peoples that aspire their own designs.

  • Virtual reality is a combination of various studies, such as programming, simulation, and computer graphics. This type of new cultural paradigm requires novel concept of contents development and information exchange. This research uses 3D virtual reality technology in new equipment called I-Bench Mobile which let user to interact with the equipment for completing furniture disposition task. The simulation is manufactured in 3D with application of physics, and the ultimate goal of it is to increase customers' satisfaction by allowing them to enjoy snap shot function for arranging furniture at exact desired place. This research requires not only coding techniques but also educating process in both engineering and art, such as computer science, media art design, and visual communication; therefore, the development of software by facilitating Virtual/Augmented Reality technology in this research is a good example of fusion IT technique education.

  • Along with the development in cutting-edge digital technology, the street space is also being changed. Mobile telecommunication units and internet give a big change in a human being's lifestyle. And the ubiquitous computing is proceeding with expanding its application range from the indoor space to the street space. As the street furniture is the convenient facility that allows a human being's life in street space to be abundant, it is getting advanced. First of all, in terms of such phenomenon, this study analyzed the cases of a research on application of street space and the actual condition of a change in the number of individuals for the street furniture, through a literature research of ubiquitous. Also, it researched into the realities of using the street furniture of the walking-desired streets at Daehac-ro and Hongdae district, where are two representative places related to digital generation. The next was carried out FGI (Focus Group Interview) with users of the street space in front of Hongik University and managers of the street furniture, and was researched into the use & management behavior, and recognition level on the street furniture. Thus, the key elements were extracted such as interchange of information for cultural activities, automation for interaction variability in function. Finally the core elements for future vision of street furniture in this digital era were extracted in 3I, namely, Information, Intellectualization, and Integration. This is considered to be applied to the establishment of direction in the process of high-tech digitalization in street furniture related to information hereafter.

A Study on Design Development of Environment-friendly Mobile Home Sauna (친환경 모바일 홈 사우나 디자인 개발에 관한 연구)

  • The appeal of sauna is caused by the fact that through that, one can feel Korea's unique temperament and culture; however, because of its being a public facility and flooding of businesses due to excessive supplies of various additional features such as washing, playing, eating, sleeping and health care functions, issues of social resources and environment come to the fore, so it has reached a situation of red ocean that it is difficult to enter the market anymore. Taking these into account, this study focused on developing a thermal technology and design of the housing of an environment-friendly mobile home sauna, making the most use of the sauna's fundamental purpose and settling it as a tourist product, analyzing the marketing research on the existing sauna and considering the recent housing trends and lifestyles for a new concept sauna. Thus, regarding its characteristics and utilization, it was designed smaller than $10m^2$ (3 pyeong) so that it would be easy to install in any space and convenient to move. It can be installed in separate buildings and rest spaces such as country houses, resorts, pensions, camping grounds as well as outdoor houses, custom produced for a measure of pyeong that customers want so as to match up with the Enforcement Ordinance of the Agricultural Land Act in a concept of the farmer's hut and kitchen, bathroom and bathroom can be installed inside according to an option. In addition, regarding its efficacy, in order to give environment-friendly healing effects, materials such as Hinoki Cypress, red clay and hardwood charcoal were used, a fixed indoor temperature of $70{\sim}100^{\circ}C$ was maintained by heating methods such as electromagnetic wave free, energy saving and low-power boiler, and it was made to have excellent effects on fatigue recovery, relieving stress, skin care and diet through far-infrared emission.

Localization for Mobile Robot Using Line Segments (라인 세그먼트를 이용한 이동 로봇의 자기 위치 추정)

  • In this paper, we propose a self-localization algorithm using vertical line segments. Indoor environment is consist of horizontal and vertical line features such as doors, furniture, and so on. From the input image, vertical line edges are detected by an edge operator, Then, line segments are obtained by projecting edge image vertically and detecting local maximum from the projected histogram. From the relation of horizontal position of line segments and the location of the robot, nonlinear equations are come out Localization is done by solving the equations by using Newton's method. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm using one camera is simple and applicable to indoor environment.

Simultaneous Determination of Isocyanates by High Performance Liquid Chromatography (고속액체크로마토그래피를 이용한 이소시아네이트의 동시 정량)

  • This study was designed to identify and quantitate airborne isocyanate simultaneously by HPLC. These samples were collected using 1-(2-pyridyl)piperazine(1-2PP) coated glass fiber filter from polyurethane painting works at 8 wood furniture factories in Kimpo and Inchun. The results obtained were as follows : 1. The most suitable mobile phase condition of simultaneously analyzing isocyanates was 0.01 M ammonium acetate buffer ACN(70/30) adjusted to pH 6.2 from the beginning of the analysis to 20 min and 0.01 M ammonium acetate buffer/ACN(50/50) adjusted to pH 6.2 from 21 min to 40 min using the gradient mode. The peaks of isocyanates were able to obtain within 30 min. 2. The recovery efficiencies for 2,6-TDI, 2,4-TDI, HDI and MDI urea derivates spiked at the target concentration on coated glass fiber tillers were 91.00, 93.42, 91.31 and 94.21 %, respectively. 3. The qualitative analysis of the isocyanates samples from polyurethane spray painting works in wood furnture factories identified Ihree isocyanates, 2,6-TDI, 2,4-TDI and MOI. And their concentration ranges were 0-312.6, 0-56.3 and $0-62.1{\mu}g/m^3$, respectively. A disadvantage of using the colorimetric method for isocyanate analysis is its inability of separating isocyanates. This study identified such three isocyanates as 2,6-TDI, 2,4-TDI and MDI from polyurethane spray painting works in wood furniture factories. These isocyanates were successfully quantitated by HPLC by modifying the mobile phase condition and switching to gradient mode.
