Nd2Fe14B 화합물 결정의 산화 및 보자력에 관한 연구 (Study on Oxidation and Coercivity of Nd2Fe14B Compound Crystal)

  • $Nd_2Fe_{14}B$ 화합물 결정의 산화 및 미세 $Nd_2Fe_{14}B$ 결정입자의 보자력에 미치는 산화의 영향을 조사하였다. $Nd_2Fe_{14}B$ 화합물 결정의 산화속도는 $Nd_{15}Fe_{77}B_8$ 합금 잉곳 중의 과잉 성장시킨 $Nd_2Fe_{14}B$ 결정립을 이용하여 조사하였다. $Nd_2Fe_{14}B$ 화합물 결정의 산화는 이 결정상의 ${\alpha}$-Fe, $Fe_3B$, 및 Nd 산화물 복합상으로의 분해에 의해 일어 났다. $Nd_2Fe_{14}B$ 화합물 결정의 산화속도는 결정 방위와는 무관하였다. 산화반응 속도 식은 단순한 직선관계로 나타났다. $Nd_2Fe_{14}B$ 화합물 결정의 산화에 대한 활성화에너지는 약 26.8 kJ/mol로 계산되었다. HDDR 처리한 $Nd_{15}Fe_{77}B_8$ 합금을 볼밀링하여 임계단자구 크기에 유사한 미세한 $Nd_2Fe_{14}B$ 결정입자를 제조하고, 이 입자들을 이용하여 보자력에 미치는 산화의 영향을 조사하였다. 임계단자구 크기에 유사한 미세한 $Nd_2Fe_{14}B$ 결정입자(${\fallingdotseq}0.3\;{\mu}m$)는 9 kOe 이상의 높은 보자력을 가졌다. 그러나, 이 보자력은 공기 중에서 온도 상승에 따라 급격하게 저하하였다($200^{\circ}C$에서 2 kOe 이하). 이러한 급격한 보자력의 감소는 산화에 의해 미세 입자의 표면에 형성된 연자성 ${\alpha}$-Fe 및 $Fe_3B$ 상 때문으로 판단되었다.

  • 2-Hydroxy-6-(1-(3-phenylurylphenyl)ethoxy)-benzaldehyde ($\mathbf{2}$) has been synthesized in racemic form from 1,3-Dihydroxybenzene via formylation and reaction with 3-phenyluryl-methylbenzylbromide. The optically pure form of $\mathbf{2}$ was separated by normal silica column chromatography from the imine diastreomer which was obtained by the reaction of racemic mixture of $\mathbf{2}$ with optically pure leucinol. The absolute configuration of the separated enantiomer of $\mathbf{2}$ was decided from the energy calculation of the corresponding imine diastereomers. The activity of $\mathbf{2}$ as a chirality conversion reagent (CCR) for amino acids was determined by $^1H$ NMR analysis. The efficiency of $\mathbf{2}$ is not better than the previous CCRs based on binaththol. Compound $\mathbf{2}$, however, has lower molecular weight compared to other CCRs. This work demonstrates that asymmetric carbon can control the selectivity of amino acids.

On the preparation of iron pyrite from synthetic and natural targets by pulsed electron deposition

  • We report on the preparation of iron pyrite ($FeS_2$) using pulsed electron ablation of two targets, namely, a mixture of sulfur and iron compound target, and a natural iron pyrite target. Thin films of around 50 nm in thickness have been deposited on glass substrates under Argon background gas at 3 mTorr, and at a substrate temperature of up to $450^{\circ}C$. The thin films have been analyzed chemically and examined structurally using x-ray diffraction (XRD), x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and visible Raman spectroscopy. The morphology and thickness of the films have been assessed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and visible spectroscopic reflectance. The preliminary findings, using a synthetic target, show the presence of iron pyrite with increasing proportion as substrate temperature is increased from $150^{\circ}C$ to $250^{\circ}C$. The data have not shown any evidence of pyrite in the deposited films from a natural target.

Study on Physiologically Active Compounds and Antioxidant Activity of Korean Yam (Dioscorea batatas DECNE.)

  • The bioactive compound and antioxidant property of Korean yam (Dioscorea batatas DECNE.) were studied using in vitro methods. Yam available in Korea was analyzed for lycopene, chlorophyll a, b, tannin, phytic acid and total saponin contents. 70% Methanol, 70% ethanol and chloroform-methanol mixture (CM, 2:1, v/v) were used to extract yam. Then the antioxidant activity evaluated through ferrous ion chelating activity, ${\beta}$-carotene bleaching method, lipid peroxidation inhibition and nitric oxide (NO) radical scavenging activity. 70% Methanol extract showed the highest ferrous ion chelating activity and NO radical scavenging activity. And CM extract was the most effective in inhibition of linoleic acid peroxidation evaluated by ${\beta}$-carotene bleaching assay and lipid peroxidation inhibition assay. Based on the results obtained, yam is a potential active ingredient that could be applied in antioxidation as well as bio-health functional food to take a good part in prevention of human diseases and aging.

PDMS-바이오 멤브렌인을 이용한 용해성과 비용해성 휘발성유기화학물질의 가스 제거에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Removal of Soluble and Insoluble gas of VOCs Using PDMS Biomembrane)

  • An experimental study on the removal of VOCs gas using a biomembrane reactor were carried out at various inlet gas concentration, specific loading rate, retention time and gas flow rate of volume. The variations of efficiency and various parameters, which are relevant to gas removal, with mixing of soluble gas and without have been discussed. More than 95% of the toluene and methanol present in the feed was successfully removed in each study. The elimination of methanol with mixture of soluble compound of about 300 mg/h corresponds to a portion of 21% if there is a feed stream of 1400 mg/h. On the contrary the maximum efficiency of about 72% of toluene was reached. This is to be rated as a treatment of sorption that the limiting factor of the dismantling speed could be represented by this difficult degradable component. Nevertheless the elimination capacities for this reactor for toluene were on a very high level. For substances which show a very high solubility in silicon rubber an advantage of a bio membrane is clearly shown. Therefore a similarly good result is expected for n-hexane, because of its relatively good permeability which was distinguished during permeation experiments.

  • High Tc oxide superconductor with a Tc above 100 K has been successfully prepared by solid state reaction method in added-Pb BiSrCaCuO system. As compared with 123 compound, the formation reaction of the high Tc requires long time heat treatment. It is due to the transformation from the low Tc phase to high Tc phase. The sintering just below the melting point of the calcined powder mixture is effective on the formation of the high Tc phase in BiSrCaCuO system to be added with Pb. The growth of the high Tc superconducting phase has a thin plate shape, which is characterized by the c parameter of 37${\AA}$. The formation kinetics is also investigated in the samples with different Bi/Pb ratio and the 30% Pb addition is most preferable for the formation of the high Tc phase. The formation of the high Tc phases is delayed by the excessive addition of Pb. The lattice parameter(c) of the unit cell(both the low and high Tc phases) is increased with increase of Pb.

복합 유기 오염물로 오염된 세립질 지반의 Electrokinetic 정화 처리에 관한 연구 (Electrokinetic Remediation of Organic Mixture Contaminated Soil)

  • 본 연구는 유류 화합물 중 phenol을 대표적인 친수성 유기 화합물로, phenanthrene을 대표적인 소수성 유기오염물로 선정하여 실내에서 인위적으로 오염시킨 세립질 지반에 EK 정화 실험을 실시하였다. 또한, 유기 오염물의 제거효율을 높이기 위해 기존의 양수처리에서 향상기법으로 사용하는 계면활성제를 이용한 향상기법을 연구하였다. 실내 bench 스케일 실험결과, 물에 대한 용해도가 높은 phenol은 비교적 쉽게 제거되었지만, 용해도가 낮은 phenanthrene은 거의 제거되지 않음을 알 수 있었다. 또한, 계면활성제를 적용한 향상기법에서 phenanthrene이 음극부 근처에서 누적되는 지연현상을 보였지만, 농도가 증가할수록 제거효율은 증가하였다. 가동시간을 증가시킨 실험을 통해 시간을 증가시키는 것이 계면활성제의 농도를 증가시키는 것보다 효과적인 것을 알 수 있었다.

  • 분리막을 이용한 투과증발공정은 에너지 소모가 적고 설치비와 운영비면에서 우수한 효과를 볼 수 있기 때문에 증류공정을 대신할 수 있는 공정으로 주목받고 있다. 특히 석유화학공정은 공정 중에 에너지 소모가 크고, 많은 화합물들이 공비혼합물을 이루고, 새로운 공정을 설치하기 위해서는 작은 공간을 필요로 하기 때문에 투과증발공정은 증류공정을 대체할 수 있는 매우 유력한 후보이다. 벤젠/시클로헥산을 포함하는 방향족 화합물의 분리, 올레핀/파라핀 분리, 자일렌 이성질체의 분리, 반응성 단량체의 회수, 가솔린으로부터 황 화합물의 제거 등에 투과증발공정을 응용하는 많은 연구가 이루어졌으며, 상용화가 되고 있다.

국내 유류오염지역에서의 석유계총탄화수소에 의한 비발암 인체위해성평가 전략 (Human Health Risk Assessment Strategy to Evaluate Non-carcinogenic Adverse Health Effect from Total Petroleum Hydrocarbon at POL-Contaminated Sites in Korea)

  • Human health risk assessment for petroleum, oil and lubricant (POL) contaminated sites is challenging as total petroleum hydrocarbon (TPH) is not a single compound but rather a mixture of numerous substances. To address this concern, several TPH fractionation approaches have been proposed and used as an effective management tool for the POL-contaminated sites in many countries. In Korea, there are also recognized needs to establish a reliable and cost-effective human health risk assessment strategy based on the TPH fractionation method. In order to satisfy the social and institutional demand, this study suggested that the comprehensive risk assessment strategy based on a newly modified TPH fractionation method with 10 fractions, the Korean Standard Test Method (KSTM)-based analytical protocol and a stepwise risk assessment framework should be introduced into the domestic contaminated land management system. Under the proposed strategy, POL-contaminated sites can be effectively managed in terms of human health protection, and remedial cost and time can be determined reasonably. In addition, more researches required to increase our understanding of environmental risks and improve the domestic management system were proposed.

Jean Paul Gaultier에 나타난 초현실주의 특성에 관한 연구 (A study on Surrealism Repressed in Jean Paul Gaultier's works)

  • The surrealism art form comes from the world of unconsciousness. Based on its expression of the world of imaginary, it boldly demonstrates the arrangement and the forms of contradicted objects and the development of collage, montage, and protage techniques in the works which had a big influence on the growth of the modern art. The ideology and the modeling characteristics shown in the surrealism had various expressive forms and meanings in the modern compound expression and it grew out of the former standarlized forms and brought diversity and individuality based on the sensibility of the new avant-garde art form and showed great potential as it presented harmony in the multiple forms of art. The purpose of the research was to analyze the influences that were put on the surrealistic fashion art works and the works of the representative designer, Jean Paul Gotie. The characteristics of Jean Paul Gotie's surrealistic fashion comes from destruction, sexual image, and the mixture of heterogeneous. It is evident that the surrealistic fashion went beyond certain groups of avant-gardists' salvation of the world and were put to practice use, reaching out to the ordinary consumers. This was resulted from the revolutionary movement called, "anti-mode van fashion" led by Gotie. The surrealistic style will be led by various techniques and trends and developed through new characteristics in multiculture merged with various fashion styles.
