In this study, we examined food intake, sodium intake, and satiety rate for different methods of consuming soup. Healthy young women (n=50) participated in this study. The subjects ate cooked rice and soup using a method that they preferred and then they were assigned into separate intake groups based on how they consumed their rice and soup. One group consisted of women that ate their soup and cooked rice separately (separate intake group, n=30). The second group consisted of the women who mixed the rice and the soup prior to consumption (mixed intake group, n=20). The mixed intake group consumed significantly more food (p<0.001) and sodium (p<0.05) than the separate intake group. Because of the high water content and ease of swallowing for the mixed intake method, the eating rate of the mixed intake group (42.5 g/min) was significantly higher than that of the separate intake group (28.8 g/min) (p<0.01). However, despite consuming 79.5 g more food at lunch, the rates of satiety were not significantly different before and after eating between the mixed intake and separate intake group. Therefore, eating rate, consumption norms and concept of "clean one's bowl" may influence food intake and sodium intake. Although more studies are needed, these data suggest eating cooked rice and soup separately may help to control obesity and hypertension.

In this pater, a method of strength evaluation applying fracture mechanics in adhesively bonded joints of A1/A1 materials was investigated. Various adhesively bonded joints of double-cantilever beam with a interfacial crack in its adhesive layer were prepared for the fracture toughness test of comprehensive mixed mode conditions from nearly pure mode I to mode II. The experiment of fracture toughness was carried out under various mixed mode conditions with an interfacial crack and critical energy release rate, Gc by the experimental measurements of compliances was determined. From the results, fracture toughness on mixed mode with an interfacial crack is well characterized by strain energy release rate and a method of strength evaluation by the fracture toughness in adhesively bonded joints of A1/A1 materials was discussed.
A method for mapping quantitative trait loci (QTL) was introduced incorporating the information of mixed progeny from complex pedigrees. The method consisted of two steps based on single marker analysis. The first step was to examine the marker-trait association with a mixed model considering common environmental effect and reversed QTL-marker linkage phase. The second step was to estimate QTL effects by a weighted least square analysis. A simulation study indicated that the method incorporating mixed progeny from multiple generations improved the accuracy of QTL detection. The influence of within-genotype variance and recombination rate on QTL analysis was further examined. Detecting a QTL with a large within-genotype variance was more difficult than with a small within-genotype variance. Most of the significant marker-QTL association was detectable when the recombination rate was less than 15%.

The analysis of reaction kinetics provided that the reaction order was the $1^{st}$ of triglyceride and the rate constant was 0.067 $min^{-1}$. The transesterification of camelina oil using 0.6 wt% mixed catalyst which consists of 40 v/v% of potassium hydroxide (1 wt%) and 60 v/v% of tetra methyl ammonium hydroxide (0.8 wt%), was carried out at $65^{\circ}C$ on the tubular reactor packed with static mixer. The conversion was shown to be 95.5% at the 6:1 molar ratio of methanol to oil, flow rate of feed of 3.0 mL/min and 24 of element of static mixer. The volume of washing water emitted by 0.6 wt% mixed catalyst was the half of the volume emitted by 1 wt% potassium hydroxide.
The purpose of this study was to optimize the conditions of continuous mixed culture of C.butyricum and R. spaeroides K-7, which were able to produce hydrogen using biomass-dreived substrate. To investigate the possibility of continuous culture, semi-continuous culture was carried out for 20 days. In semi-continuous culture using the reactor system, the replacement rate of fresh medium was 30% of total medium volume for the highest hydrogen evolution. In continuous culture, the optimum dilution rate was determined to be 0.05$h^{-1}$. The continuous culture produced 3.1 times as compared with the hydrogen on batch culture. On the other hand, the continuous mixed culture produced 1.3~2.1 times as much as hydrogen of the continuous monoculture of C. butyricum. When 10g of glucose in the media (1l) was supplied as a carbon source on continuous culture, mixed culture of C. butyricum and R. sphaeroides K-7 increased hydrogen evolution rate. Because considerable amount of glutamate was contained in waste water of glutamate fermentation, utilization of glutamate was examined in mixed culture. As a result of examination, production of hydorgen was slightly inhibited by high concentration of glutamate, more than 20mM, on continuous monoculture of R. sphaeroides K-7. On the other hand, both on continuous monoculture of C. butyricum and on mixed culture of C. butyricum and R. sphaeroides K-7, production of hydrogen was not inhibited by high concentration of glutamate such as 100mM. Hence this suggests that high concentration of waste water can be used as good substrate for hydrogen production on monoculture of C. butyricum and mixed culture of C. butyricum and R. sphaeroides K-7.
Smart farm is a high-tech type of plant factory that artificially makes environmental conditions suitable for the growth of plants and manages them to automatically produce the desired plants regardless of seasons or space. This study was conducted by identifying the effects of Hertz and Duty ratio on the photosynthetic rate of ginseng, a medicinal crop, to find the optimal conditions for photosynthetic responses in smart farms. The light sources consisted of a total of 10 chambers using LED system, with 4 R+B(red+blue) mixed lights and 6 R+B+W (red+blue+white) mixed lights. In addition, the Hertz of the R+B mixed light was treated at 20, 60, 180, 540, 1620 and 4860 hz respectively. The R+B+W mixed light was treated with 60, 180, 540, and 1620 hz. Afterwards, experiments were conducted with the duty ratio of 30, 50, and 70%. As a result, the photosynthetic rate of ginseng according to duty ratio and Hertz was the highest at 60 hz when duty ratio was set to 50%. On the other hand, that was the lowest when the duty ratio was 30% at the same 60 hz. In addition, the photosynthetic rates were highest in the R+B mixed light and R+B+W mixed light at 60 hz. Therefore, the condition with the highest photosynthetic rate of ginseng in smart farms is 60 hz when the duty ratio in R+B mixed light is 50%.

The purpose of this study is to propose a 40MPa mortar mixed design model that applies the neural network theory to minimize wasted effort in trial and error. A mixed design model was applied to each of the 60 data using fly ash, blast furnace slag fine powder and thickened rice husk powder. And in the neural network model, the optimized connection weight was obtained by repeatedly applying it to the MATLAB. The completed mixed design model was demonstrated by analyzing and comparing the predicted values of the mixed design model with those measured in the actual compressive strength test. As a result of the mixed design verification experiment, the error rates of the double mixed non-cement mortar using blast furnace slag fine powder and rice husk powder at a height of 40MPa were 3.24% and 3.4%. Mixed with fly ash and rice husk powder had an error rate of 3.94% and 5.8%. The error rate of the triple mixed non-cement mortar of the rice husk powder, fly ash, and blast furnace slag fine powder was 2.5% and 5.1%.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of frozen mixed double-embryo transfer (MDET; the simultaneous transfer of day 3 and day 5 embryos) in comparison with frozen blastocyst double-embryo transfer (BDET; transfer of two day 5 blastocysts) in patients with repeated implantation failure (RIF). Methods: A total of 104 women with RIF who underwent frozen MDET (n = 48) or BDET (n = 56) with excellent-quality embryos were included in this retrospective analysis. All frozen embryo transfers were performed in natural cycles. The main outcome measures were the implantation rate, clinical pregnancy rate, multiple pregnancy rate, and miscarriage rate. These measures were compared between the patients who underwent MDET or BDET using the chi-square test or the Fisher exact test, as appropriate. Results: The implantation and clinical pregnancy rates were significantly higher in patients who underwent MDET than in those who underwent BDET (60.4% vs. 39.3%, p=0.03 and 52.1% vs. 30.4%, p=0.05, respectively). A significantly lower miscarriage rate was observed in the MDET group (6.9% vs. 10.7%, p=0.05). In addition, the multiple pregnancy rate was slightly, but not significantly, higher in the MDET group (27.1% vs. 25.0%). Conclusion: MDET was found to be significantly superior to double blastocyst transfer. It could be regarded as an appropriate approach to improve in vitro fertilization success rates in RIF patients.
2,4,6-Trinitrotoluene(TNT) was reduced into intermediate products by mixed culture incubated in anaerobic condition. To test the effects of extracellular material to electron transfer between sulfide and TNT, filtered medium of mixed culture was loaded in the test tubes with TNT and sulfide. The transformation rate was measured under four different conditions. The rate under microbial activity was the fastest among under different conditions. With sulfide or filtrate alone and TNT, the reactions were measured as the slowest reactions or no reactions occured, respectively. The reaction rate coefficient were calculated by linear regression and the first order kinetic was fitted best. Also, the plot of rate coefficients (K$_{f}$) showed linear relationships when at time zero TNT and sulfide concentration were 20 mg/1 and 6.0 mM, respectively. By extrapolation, reaction rate coefficient of 100% filtrate could be calculated as 0.0054/minute. However, reaction rate was affected by different concentration of sulfide, so it is a dependent of sulfide concentration. The results of this test showed TNT reduction rate can be limited more by microbial reaction than by mediation of filtrate or sulfide and filtrate alone.

In this paper, the evaluation method of interfacial fracture toughness to apply the fracture toughness was investigated in adhesively bonded joints of AI/Ced./A1. Four types of adhesively bonded double-cantilever beam(DCB) joints with the interface crack were prepared for the test of interfacial fracture toughness. The experiments to measure the interfacial fracture toughness were performed under the various mixed-mode conditions. The critical energy release rate, Gc, was obtained by the experimental measurement of compliances. From the experimental results, the interfacial fracture toughness for the mixed-mode specimens is well characterized by the energy release rate, and the method of strength evaluation by the interfacial fracture toughness was discussed in adhesively bonded joints.
