The design of bandwidth sharing queueing algorithm to guarantee realtime of specific traffic (특정 트래픽의 실시간 보장을 위한 대역폭 공유 큐잉 알고리즘의 설계)

  • 정체(congestion)가 발생한 네트워크에서 자원관리 시스템은 정체를 제어하고 프레임 상실(loss)을 최소화함으로써 리얼타임 트래픽에 대한 요구를 충족시키기 위해 절대적으로 요구된다. 그에 따라 본 논문에서는 외부출력 인터페이스(Outgoing Interface)를 통과한 각종 멀티미디어 프레임들의 정체나 상실을 최소화하는 것을 기본 목적으로 하여 임계작업(mission critical)의 애플리케이션이 요청한 트래픽이 삽입되는 큐에 프레임이 존재하는 한, 부 스케줄러(Child Scheduler)를 생성하여 연속적으로 처리를 해주는 한편, 다른 트래픽들은 주 스케줄러(Parent Scheduler)가 할당된 대역폭만큼 Round-Robin 방식으로 계속 처리를 해주도록 하여 기아(starvation)가 일어나지 않도록 하는 CQ(Custom Queuing) 기반의 대역폭 공유 큐잉 알고리즘을 설계하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 재난 구조 로봇의 목적을 수행하기 위한 Situation-aware Middleware 에 대해서 설명한다. 재난 구조 로봇은 정확한 정황인지와 빠른 정보 처리 능력이 필요하다. 하지만 실시간으로 수집되는 센서의 정보들은 재난 구조 로봇과 같은 인명 구조나 재해 수습을 위한 특정 목적을 수행하기 위해 설계된 지능형 로봇은 센서 정보의 시간과 무분별한 정보는 선별하여 수집해야 긴급 상황에서 효율적으로 대처 할 수 있다. 따라서 이 논문에서는 Q-MAR(QoS-Mission-Action-Resource)모델을 참조 하여, 특정 목적에 맞는 정황 정보들을 선별 수집 융합 하는 새로운 Goal-driven Situation-Aware Middleware(GDSAM)를 제안하여 이 문제를 해결 하고자 한다.

  • 중대 핵심 시스템은 변화하는 상황에 대해서 정보를 빠르게 획득하고, 대처하는 것이 매우 중요하다. 임무 수행 중에 시스템의 환경이나 예상하지 못한 상황이 발생하였을 경우, 임무를 효율적으로 처리하는 데 문제가 발생한다. 이를 해결하기 위해 상황 인지를 중대 핵심 시스템에 적용하여 환경의 변화와 상황에 대해서 유연하게 대응할 수 있게 한다. 이는 시스템 주변 환경과 상황을 인지하여서 적절한 판단을 내릴 수 있도록 하여 임무에 도움을 준다. 본 논문에서는 상황 인지를 적용한 시스템의 아키텍처를 제안하고 이를 검증하기 위해서 공중 방어 시스템 시뮬레이션에 적용한 실험 결과를 통해서 유효성을 검증한다.

  • As the proportion of software in weapon systems increases, the impact of software on the overall system is growing. As a result, software quality management becomes important, and related regulations and work manuals for quality assurance activities at each stage in the R & D process are becoming more sophisticated. However, due to the characteristics of the weapon system software that is developed as a customized form for the purpose of a specific mission, there are limits to specifying and definitizing the detailed requirements (upper and lower level) according to various operational concepts during the development process. Due to this, software modification (patch change, shape change due to upgrade, etc.) occurs on account of many defects and performance improvement in the mass production and operation stage after the development is completed. In this study, we analyze the characteristics of these weapon system softwares and propose quality improvement methods based on ISO / IEC / IEEE 29119 test method.

  • Defense fields widely operate unmanned systems to lower vulnerability and enhance combat effectiveness. In the navy, swarm unmanned surface vehicles(USVs) form a cluster within communication range, share situational awareness information among the USVs, and cooperate with them to conduct military missions. This paper proposes an interface system, i.e., Interface Adapter System(IAS), to achieve inter-USV and intra-USV interoperability. We focus on the mission planning subsystem(MPS) for interoperability, which is the core subsystem of the USV to decide courses of action such as automatic path generation and weapon assignments. The central role of the proposed system is to exchange interface data between MPSs and other subsystems in real-time. To this end, we analyzed the operational requirements of the MPS and identified interface messages. Then we developed the IAS using the distributed real-time middleware. As experiments, we conducted several integration tests at swarm USVs simulation environment and measured delay time and loss ratio of interface messages. We expect that the proposed IAS successfully provides bridge roles between the mission planning system and other subsystems.

  • 미션 크리티컬 영역의 실시간 소프트웨어의 프로세스들은 시스템 요구사항에 맞게 제한된 시간안에 수행되도록 프로세스를 설계되고 구현되어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 원자력발전소의 감시와 제어를 담당하는 MMIUNIX 소프트웨어 실시간 프로세스들을 관리 통제하는 방법을 제안한다. 제안한 방법이 원자력 발전소의 특수한 환경에 적합하게 사용할 수 있는지 알아보기 위해서 시간제약 조건 관점에서 성능평가를 수행한다.

  • In this paper, we design COMS system bus that the 1553 Data Bus is able to link all the units of the satellite managed by the SCU using one Prime Data Bus and on Redundant Data Bus. Also we analyze MIL-STD-1553B bus load and relevant exchange memory budgets in system bus of the COMS satellite. This data is used in the satellite mission and software design by system engineer.

  • Twin clutch model enables the power-shifts as conventional planetary automatic transmission and eradicates the disadvantages of single clutch trans- mission. The automatic control of the dual clutches is a problem. Particularly to control the clutching component that engages when running in one direction of revolution and disengages when running the other direction, which exchange the torque smoothly during torque phase of the gearshifts on planetary-type automatic transmissions, seemed for quite a while hard to compensate through clutch control. Another problem is to skip gears during multiple gearshifts. However, the twin clutch gear control described in ["M Goetz, M C Levesley and D A Crolla. Dynamics and control of gearshifts on twin clutch transmissions, Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part D: Journal of Automobile Engineering 2005"], a significant improvement in twin clutch gear control system is discussed. In this research our objective is to formally specify the twin clutch gear control system and verify it with the help of formal methods. Formal methods have a high potential to give correctness estimating techniques. We use UPPAAL for formal specification and verification. Our results show that the twin clutch gear control model partially fulfills its functional requirements.

  • Multi Function Display(MFD) of Korean Utility Helicopter(KUH) is the component of mission management/display control system and displays image information(navigation, flight, survivability, digital map, maintenance) acquired from Mission Computer(MC) while the aircraft is operated. It is an essential equipment for pilots to perform flight mission and it has functions of display scene control, data display, built in test(BIT) and brightness control. In this paper, it is analyzed the cause of abnormal display(flickering) on MFD and summarized the design changes to solve the defect. It is also described system safety analysis and suggested verification results of flight/ground test.

A Comparison of Fault Tolerant Ethernet Implementation Approaches (고장 극복 (Fault Tolerant) Ethernet 구현 방안의 비교 분석)

  • Reliability is absolutely necessary in most recent mission critical systems which usually utilize the Ethernet based computer networks. A typical way to increase system reliability is to equip the fault tolerant Ethernet. In this paper we try to formulate the fault tolerant dual Ethernet concept and presents a comparison of its implementation approaches. Two types of dual Ethernet configuration are analyzed; the divided and the connected. Then the characteristics of three current implementation approaches which are the hardware based, the software based, and the recently proposed hybrid approach are compared. The results show that the hardware based or the hybrid approaches can be a better solution for the real time mission critical systems. Also for the systems which require the use of Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) hardware for fault tolerant Ethernet the possible choice is the software based or the hybrid approach.
