열응력 제한조건이 고려된 위상최적화 기법을 이용한 광학 미러 플렉셔 마운트 최적설계 (Optimal Design of the Flexure Mount for Optical Mirror Using Topology Optimization Considering Thermal Stress Constraint)

  • An optical mirror assembly is an opto-mechanically coupled system as the optical and mechanical behaviors interact. In the assembly, a flexure mount attached to an optical mirror should be flexible in the radial direction, but rigid for the remaining degrees of freedom for supporting the mirror rigidly and suppressing the wavefront error of the optical mirror. This work presents an optimal design of the flexure mount using topology optimization with thermal stress constraint. By simplifying the optical mirror assembly into finite shell elements, topology optimization model was built for efficient design and good machinability. The stress at the boundary between the optical mirror and the mount together with the first natural frequency were applied as constraints for the optimization problem, while the objective function was set to minimize the strain energy. As a result, we obtained the optimal design of the flexure mount yielding the improved wavefront error, proper rigidity, and machinability.

  • 본 논문은 여러 인공지능 기술 중 이미지 분류를 통한 사람의 얼굴 표정을 인식하는 프로그램을 통해 사람의 표정을 인식하여 거울에 나타내는 스마트미러 기술을 소개한다. 여러 사람의 5가지 표정이미지를 통하여 인공지능으로 학습하였고, 사람이 거울을 볼 때 거울이 그 표정을 인식하여 인식한 결과를 거울에 나타내는 방식이다. 여러 사람의 얼굴을 표정별로 구분되어있는 dataset을 kaggle에서 제공하는 fer2013을 이용하여 사용하였고, 이미지 데이터 분류를 위해 네트워크 구조는 컨볼루션 신경망 구조를 이용하여 학습하였다. 최종적으로 학습된 모델을 임베디드 보드인 라즈베리파이4를 통해서 얼굴을 인식하여 거울을 통해 디스플레이에 나타내는 구조이다.

Optimal Design of a Coudé Mirror Assembly for a 1-m Class Ground Telescope

  • These days, the size of a reflective telescope has been increasing for astronomical observation. An additional optical system usually assists a large ground telescope for image analysis or the compensation of air turbulence. To guide collimated light to the external optical system through a designated path, a coudé mirror is usually adopted. Including a collimator, a coudé mirror of a ground telescope is affected by gravity, depending on the telescope's pointing direction. The mirror surface is deformed by the weight of the mirror itself and its mount, which deteriorates the optical performance. In this research, we propose an optimization method for the coudé mirror assembly for a 1-m class ground telescope that minimizes the gravitational surface error (SFE). Here the mirror support positions and the sizes of the mount structure are optimized using finite element analysis and the response surface optimization method in both the horizontal and vertical directions, considering the telescope's altitude angle. Throughout the whole design process, the coefficients of the Zernike polynomials are calculated and their amplitude changes are monitored to determine the optimal design parameters. At the same time, the design budgets for the thermal SFE and the mass and size of the mount are reflected in the study.

인도의 전통자수 MIRROR WORK에 관한 연구 (A Study on India's Traditional Embroidery, Mirror Work)

  • The purpose of this research is to study India's traditional embroidery method, Mirror Work, and to evaluate the examples of contemporary costumes as well as the applications of art to clothing that have been influenced by this technique, in order to expand its usage for creation of a new fashion image. Research in the literature and application of works related to Mirror Work have demonstrated: First of all, as a traditional embroidery method that represents the folk art of India, Mirror Work displays unique methods used in different regions and the way that various methods and materials were combined by the use of mirrors, beads, and $appliqu{\acute{e}}$. Secondly, it was found that the presentation of Mirror Work in the $pr{\hat{e}}t$-a-porte collection is based on a traditional embroidery method using both developed materials and adapted methods to express traditional reproducibility, geometric simplicity, and aesthetic characteristics of complex decorations. Thirdly, new plasticity for art to wear clothing can be created through various methods aside from embroidery, for example by a technique of wrapping crochet laces and tapes around the mirror for decorative purposes. Based on these results it can be inferred that, from the perspective of multiple forms for decorations, Mirror Work shares multiple forms of personal aesthetic goals through the mirror's unique quality for expression and enhanced images of artistic decorative art. Also, the introduction of traditional materials and methods for today's folk art and traditional costumes can be the subject of unique aesthetic characteristics based on different perspectives of the recreation of tradition. Finally, it can further create a new plasticity within the globalization phenomena.

Effects of Reflectors and Receivers on the Thermal Performance of Dish-Type Solar Power Systems

  • The thermal performance comparisons of the dish solar collector system are numerically investigated with mirror arrays and receiver shapes. In order to compare the performances of the dish solar collector systems, six different mirror arrays and four different receiver shapes are considered and the radiative heat flux distribution on the inside of the receiver is analyzed. A parabolic-shaped perfect mirror of which diameter is 1.5 m is considered as a reference of the mirror arrays. Five different mirror arrays of twelve identical parabolic -shaped mirror facets of which diameter are 0.4 m are proposed in this study. Their reflecting areas, which are 1.5 $m^2$, are the same. Four different receiver shapes are a dome, a conical, a cylindrical and a unicorn type. The solar irradiation reflected by mirrors is traced using the Monte-Carlo method. In addition, the radiative properties of the mirror surface can vary the thermal performance of the dish solar collector system so that the effects of the surface reflectivity and the surface absorptivity are considered. Based on the calculation, the design information of dish solar collector system for producing the electric power can be obtained. The results show that the dome type has the best performance in receiver shapes and the 2AND4INLINE has the best performance in mirror arrays except the perfect mirror.

뇌졸중 환자를 대상으로 한 거울치료의 효과와 신경학적 기전 (The Neurological Effect and Mechanism of Mirror Therapy in Adults With Stroke)

  • 본 연구에서는 거울치료가 뇌졸중 환자의 상지 운동기능 향상에 미치는 효과를 문헌고찰을 통해 알아보고 임상적 효용성을 확인하고자 하였다. 또한, 그간 밝혀진 정보를 종합하여 거울치료를 통해 발생하는 중재효과를 분석하고 거울치료의 신경학적 기전을 알아보고자 하였다. 거울치료는 뇌졸중 환자들의 손과 팔의 운동기능을 향상시키고, 일상생활 수행기능회복과 통증경감에 효과가 있다. 하지만 시각 무시에 대해서는 효과를 입증할 수 있는 근거가 아직 분명치 않다. 거울치료는 전운동영역의 신경학적 회복을 유도한다. 전운동영역은 운동 조절의 핵심적인 역할을 하는 부위로서 거울치료에 의해 활성화되면 손상된 일차운동영역의 활성도를 증가시켜 기능회복을 유발한다. 일차운동영역이 완전히 손상된 경우에는 신경 재조직화를 통해 일차운동영역의 기능을 전운동영역이나 보완운동영역이 대체하여 수행한다. 선행연구의 고찰 결과, 거울치료의 효과나 이에 대한 신경학적인 원인에 대한 증거가 아직 부족한 실정이었다. 거울치료의 효과와 신경학적 기전이 명확히 규명된다면 거울치료는 임상에서 보다 효용성 있는 치료로서 구축될 것이라 사료된다.

대용량 광 스위치를 위한 2축 자유도 마이크로 미러 (Two-Axis Rotational Micro-Mirror for High-Capacity Optical Cross-Connect Switch)

  • 본 논문에서는 큰 회전각을 갖는 2축 자유도 마이크로 미러를 제안하고 제작하였다. 이러한 마이크로 미러는 N×N 대용량 광 크로스 커넥트 스위치(optical cross-connect switch)를 구현하는 데 필수적인 요소이다. 스위치의 용량을 증가시키기 위해서는 각각의 마이크로 미러의 회전각을 크게 해야 한다. 이 미러가 큰 각도로 회전하기 위해서는 상부 전극인 미러 판과 하부전극 사이에 충분한 공간이 확보 되어야 한다. 제안된 구조는 기판미세 가공법 (bulk micromachining)을 이용하여 상부전극인 미러와 하부전극을 각각 다른 기판에 제작한 후, 두 기판을 접합함으로써 쉽게 미러의 회전 공간을 확보하였다. 따라서 미러의 회전공간 확보를 위한 별도의 구동기(actuator)를 도입할 필요가 없었다. 제작된 마이크로 미러의 성능을 측정한 결과를 살펴보면, x축과 y축 방향으로의 회전각은 각각 ±5.5°와 ±8.4°였으며, 이 때의 풀인 (pull-in)전압은 각각 380 V와 275 V였다. 이러한 회전각의 성능은 전 세계적으로 지금까지 보고된 연구결과 중에서 가장 우수한 결과이다.

Piezo-electrically Actuated Micro Corner Cube Retroreflector (CCR) for Free-space Optical Communication Applications

  • In this paper, an extremely low voltage operated micro corner cube retroreflector (CCR) was fabricated for free-space optical communication applications by using bulk silicon micromachining technologies. The CCR was comprised of an orthogonal vertical mirror and a horizontal actuated mirror. For low voltage operation, the horizontal actuated mirror was designed with two PZT cantilever actuators, torsional bars, hinges, and a mirror plate with a size of $400{\mu}m{\times}400{\mu}m$. In particular, the torsional bars and hinges were carefully simulated and designed to secure the flatness of the mirror plate by using a finite element method (FEM) simulator. The measured tilting angle was approximately $2^{\circ}$ at the applied voltage of 5 V. An orthogonal vertical mirror with an extremely smooth surface texture was fabricated using KOH wet etching and a double-SOI (silicon-on-insulator) wafer with a (110) silicon wafer. The fabricated orthogonal vertical mirror was comprised of four pairs of two mutually orthogonal flat mirrors with $400{\mu}m4 (length) $\times400{\mu}m$ (height) $\times30{\mu}m$ (thickness). The cross angles and surface roughness of the orthogonal vertical mirror were orthogonal, almost $90^{\circ}$ and 3.523 nm rms, respectively. The proposed CCR was completed by combining the orthogonal vertical and horizontal actuated mirrors. Data transmission and modulation at a frequency of 10 Hz was successfully demonstrated using the fabricated CCR at a distance of approximately 50 cm.

가변 공기압력 초경면 연마기의 성능 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Performance Characteristics of Super-mirror Face Grinding Machine Using Variable Air Pressure)

  • The comparisons of performance characteristics between the super-mirror face grinding machine using variable air pressure developed in this laboratory to grind precisely the sliding face of a surface hardened workpiece with thermal spray and the conventional one are investigated by measuring the surface roughness and hardness for a SCM440. To process variously workpiece according to shape, size and materials, the rotating and contacting forces of the developed grinding machine can be changed by air pressure. The surface roughness of processed workpiece can be also attained to state of mirror face by grinding precisely the sliding face with changing the rotating speed of diamond wheel. It is possible to be attached to the various machine tools because the super-mirror face grinding machine using variable air pressure is a small size. The grinding efficiency is elevated because it can be worked by two or more grinding machines attached to concurrently a machine tool for the large workpiece. In this study, results show that the cusp height of the super-mirror face grinding machine for the particle size of 100 and $1500No./mm^2$ is lower than that of the conventional one because the vibration is reduced by rotating very fast the diamond wheel with a pressed air and it can be processed by rotating the diamond wheel with a constantly varied air pressure perpendicular to workpiece surface, and that the workpiece in the super-mirror face grinding machine for the particle size of $3000No./mm^2$ can be processed to state of mirror face that is rarely seen by the cusp height. It is also found that the surface hardness of both the conventional and the super-mirror face grinding machines are increased as the particle size of diamond wheel is reduced, and the surface hardness of the super-mirror face grinding machine is HRC 1.1 ~ 1.8 higher than that of the conventional one.

광집속 Toroidal mirror를 이용한 평면결상 (Design of flat-field XUV spectrograph with a toroidal mirror)

  • Varied-line spacing concave grating을 이용하여 결상면에서 거의 균일한 분해능을 갖는 평면결상 극자외선 분광기를 설계하엿다. 레이저-프라즈마에서 복사되는 발산광의 집속과 분광기의 수차보정을 위해 toroidal mirror를 사용하였고, 비축광선에 의한 수차를 줄이기 위해 toroidal mirror와 회절격자 사이에 10$\mu \textrm m \times2$mm크기의 입사슬릿을 두었다. 평면결상이 가능한 파장영역은 50~300$\AA$이고, 계산된 분해능은 4000이상이다. 회절격자의 효율과 toroidal mirror에서의 반사율을 고려하면 복사 에너지의 집속도는 toroidal mirror를 사용하지 않았을 때보다 3.5배 증가하고, fluorescence는 파장 100.angs.에서 1000배 이상 증가했다.
