  • In this paper, optimum shape design of permanent magnet in slotted type Permanent Magnet Linear Synchronous Motor(PMLSM) is progressed for minimization of detent force owing to structure of slot-teeth and thrust ripple by harmonic magnetic flux of permanent magnet. The characteristics of thrust and detent force computed by Finite element Analysis are acquired equal effect both skewed basic model and optimum model which is optimization of permanent magnet shape.

  • In this paper, thrust ripple is minimized using notch and slot-aperture width adjustment in a slotted PMLSM and then optimal design was achieved by using a neural network. This paper has used the moving model node technique to reduce the time and the effort for calculation according to changing design parameters. As the result, the detent force of optimal model is decreased from 9.44[N] to 0.97[N] greatly compare with it of basic model. The thrust is decreased 1.3[%] from 342.07[N] to 337.48[N] a little.

  • This paper presents vibration minimization of a PMLSM driven feed-slide by using optimized smooth velocity curve with finite jerk. First of all, the PMLSM was designed and made to reduce detent force. Next, a PMLSM driven feed-slide system was mathematically modeled as a 4-degree-of-freedom lumped parameter model. The key idea of our vibration minimization method is to find out the most appropriate smooth velocity(feedrate) curve with finite jerk. The validity of our proposed method has been verified by comparing computer simulation results of the feed-slide model with experimental ones.

  • By enforcing skew of permanent magnet, detent force decreases, but lateral force that acts for vertical direction of moving direction occurs. This force deteriorates various performance of PMLSM as that acts to friction force between mover and LM guide. Therefore, in this paper, V skew model is proposed for lateral force's reduction and simulation results are compared to experimental value.

  • This paper is proposed vibration minimize method of slotted PMLSM which is designed to minimize detent force. For improvement of operational performance by changing velocity profile to reducing the vibration at discontinuous section of acceleration curve in this paper, proter type machine is made, the vibration is compared general trapezoid velocity profile with vibration minimization velocity profile.

  • In this paper, an insertcore type PMLSM is proposed to improve the low thrust density of aslotless type PMLSM. Aneural network is applied to enhance thrust and to minimize the detent force caused by both the slot-teeth structure and end-effect. As the resultsof the optimal design, the thrust ripple rate is decreased conspicuously from 10.22[%] to 2.87[%] and the distortion factor of thrust form 5.82[%] to 1.65[%], respectively

  • This paper describes detent force minimization techniques of Permanment Magnet Linear Synchronous Motor(PMLSM) for the improvement of control and the driver system to control the position and velocity, PMLSM are simulated by operating open-loop system and PI control system, and in actuality the control system is implemented by DSP based controller and PWM inverter to investigate the characteristics of both open-loop system and PI control system.
