청송 달기약수의 수질특성에 관한 연구 (Study on the Characteristics of Dalgi Mineral Water in Cheongsong)

  • 청송 달기약수(상탕,중탕,하탕)의 수질특성을 파악하기 위해 1999년 5월부터 2000년 2월까지 약 1년 동안 계절별로 총 28개 항목의 함유성분을 분석하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 각 탕별 약수의 수질에 큰 차이가 있었다. 하탕약수는 Mg과 Na이 상대적으로 높았?만? 중탕약수는 Ca, K, Si, Fe, Mn, 전기전도도, 총염기도, DO, $Cl^-$, $SO_4^{2-}$등에서 상대적으로 높은 값을 보였다. 건강상 유해성분인 As, Cd, $Cr^{6+}$, Hg는 검출되지 않았으며, Pb는 기준이하로 나타났다. 먹는물 수질기준을 초과한 항목으로는 경도, Fe와 Mn이었다. 그러나 샘물의 경우에는 이 기준을 적용하지 아니한다고 규정하였다. 약수의 계절별 특징으로는 온도를 제외한 기타 항목에서는 뚜렷한 차이가 없었다. 음용수에서 섭취할 수 있는 미네랄 양을 알아보고자 미국 국립과학아카데미의 하루 요구허용량과 섭취 음용수의 양을 1.O L로 하고 購종善嗤?기준으로 계산한 결과, Ca 35.05%, Mg 36.43%, Na 5.88∼10.63%, K 0.19∼0.57%, Mn 21.86∼43.72%, Zn 0.65%, Cr,Cu, P 등은 0.01% 이하이고, Fe는 95.1%이었다. 따라서 달기약수는 철분이 풍부한 약수임을 알 수 있었다.달기약수는 K index가 111.7∼254.6,O index가 2.3∼4.5로서 Hashimoto가 주장한 K index 5.2,O index 2.O을 상회하므로 건강에 좋고 맛있는 물의 조건을 만족하고 있다.

몽골 항가이 남동부 지역 다신칠렌 탄탈륨-니오븀 및 산트 동 산출지의 지구화학적 특성 개요 (General Geochemical Characteristics of Dashinchilen Nb-Ta and Sant Cu Occurrences in Southeastern Part of Khangai Area, Mongolia)

  • 몽골 중부 항가이 남서부 지역의 다신칠렌 Nb-Ta 및 산트 동 산출지에 대한 예비조사를 수행하였다. 조사 결과 다신칠렌 지역의 Nb-Ta은 조사 지역에 넓게 분포하는 거정질 화강암과 주로 사암으로 구성된 고생대 퇴적층을 관입하는 페그마타이트 내 백운모에서 산출되는 것으로 확인되었다. Nb, Ta의 품위는 높지 않으나 거정질 화강암 지대에서 Th 542 ppm, U 56.9 ppm으로 비교적 높은 값을 갖는 노두를 발견하였다. REE의 함량은 조사 지역의 평균 함량과 최대 함량이 각각 지각의 평균 함량의 약 세 배와 일곱 배로 분석되었다. 산트 지역의 동은 고생대 퇴적층 내 규암에서 말라카이트와 같은 동 산화물로 관찰되었다. 조사지역에서 약 200 km 떨어진 우기누르 철-망간 광화대와 같은 층에서 Mn의 값이 12.4에서 34.6 %로 품위가 비교적 좋게 나타나는 것으로 확인되었다. 또한 REE의 함량은 조사지역의 평균 함량과 최대 함량이 각각 지각의 평균 함량의 약 2.5 배와 일곱 배로 분석되었다. 조사 지역의 화학 분석 결과에 대해 다변량 통계분석(요인분석)을 수행한 결과 다신칠렌 지역의 Nb-Ta은 백운모와 높은 상관관계를 갖는 것으로 나타났고, 산트 지역의 동은 Mo, Sn, Bi와 높은 상관관계를 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 요인분석 결과는 산트 지역의 철이 희토류 원소들과 함께 퇴적되었음을 지시한다.

Physiological Responses to Mineral-Excessive Conditions: Mineral Uptake and Carbohydrate Partitioning in Tomato Plants

  • The shortage or surplus of minerals directly affects overall physiological metabolism of plants; especially, it strongly influences carbohydrate metabolism as a primary response. We have studied mineral uptake, synthesis and partitioning of soluble carbohydrates, and the relationship between them in N, P or K-excessive tomato plants, and examined the interaction between soluble carbohydrates and mineral elements. Four-weeks-old tomato plants were grown in a hydroponic growth container adjusted with excessive N ($20.0mmol\;L^{-1}$ $Ca(NO_3)2{\cdot}4H_2O$ and $20.0mmol\;L^{-1}$ $KNO_3$), P ($2.0mmol\;L^{-1}$ $KH_2PO_4$), and K ($20.0mmol\;L^{-1}$ $KNO_3$), respectively, for 30 days. Shoot growth rates were significantly influenced by excessive N or K, but not by excessive P. The concentrations of water soluble N (nitrate and ammonium), P and K were clearly different with each tissue of tomato plants as well as the mineral conditions. The NPK accumulation in all treatments was as follows; fully expanded leaves (48%) > stem (19%) = roots (16%) = petioles (15%) > emerging leaves (1). K-excessive condition extremely contributed to a remarkable increase in the ratio, which ranged from 2.79 to 10.34, and particularly potassium was dominantly accumulated in petioles, stem and roots. Fresh weight-based soluble sugar concentration was the greatest in NPK-sufficient condition ($154.8mg\;g^{-1}$) and followed by K-excessive (141.6), N-excessive (129.2) and P-excessive (127.7); whereas starch was the highest in K-excessive ($167.0mg\;g^{-1}$) and followed by P-excessive (146.1), NPK-sufficient (138.2) and N-excessive (109.7). Soluble sugar showed positive correlation with dry weight-based total N content (p<0.01) whereas was negatively correlated with soluble P (p<0.01) and dry weight-based total P (p<0.01). On the other hand, starch production was negatively influenced by total N (p<0.001), but, it showed positive relation with total K concentration (p<0.05). This study shows that uptake pattern of NPK and production and partitioning of soluble carbohydrate were substantially different from each mineral, and the relationship between water soluble- and dry weight-based-mineral was positive.

Total Dietary Fiber and Mineral Absorption

  • The consumption of foods rich in TDF should not be associated with impaired mineral absorp-tion and long-term mineral status. In surveys of populations consuming high amounts of TDF e.g Third World populations and vegetarinas gross deficiencies in mineral nutrition have not been noted. If mineral status is low among these groups it is most likely caused by the inadequacy or imbalance of the diet and not by the TDF. The key word is interaction which should be inte-rpreted in dietary imbalances that produce nut-rient deficiencies. There are no strong data to support the concept that TDF inhibits mineral absorption through a binding chelation mechanism. Limited data sug-gest that positively charged groups on polymers such as chitosan and cholestyramine will decrease iron absorption in humans and animals. Because TDF does not contain positively charged groups future research should be directed at the possible role of protein consumed along with TDF and the combination of effects on mineral nutrition Phytic acid is acknowledged as a potent chela-tor of zinc. However its association with zinc and its propensity to lower Zn bioavaiability may enhance the absorption of other elements notably copper and iron. The importance of interactions among nutrients including TDF will gain addi-tional attention in the scientific community. Soluble and insoluble dietary fiber function di-fferently in the intestine. Insoluble fibers accele-rate movement through the intestine. Soluble die-tary fibers appear to regulated blood concentra-tions of glucose and cholesterol albeit by some unknown mechanism. In creased viscosity produ-ced by the SDF in the intestine may provide an explanation of how this class of polymers affects plasma glucose cholesterol and other nutrients. Employing a double-perfusion technique in the rat we demonstrated that viscosity produced by SDF will delay transfer of zinc into the circulatory system. This delayed absorption should not be interpreted as decreased utilization. A great deal of additional research is required to prove the importance of luminaly viscosity produced by SDF on slowing nutrient absorption or regulating bllod nutrient homeostasis. Increased intake of TDF in the total human diet appears desirable. A dietary intake of 35g/day should not be considered to have a negative effect on mineral absorption. It is important to educate people that an intake of more than 35g TDF/day may cause an imbalance in the diet that can adve-rsely affect mineral utilization. Acknowledgments. 실리카광물의 산침출 정제방법에 따른 불순물 변화 연구 (Impurity variation in high purity silica mineral with different leaching methods)

  • 실리카 광물의 정제를 위해 다양한 침출방법을 사용하여 침출특성을 비교하였다. 2.5% HF/HCl 산 침출용액을 사용하여 진동, 젓기, 초음파를 이용한 침출실험에서 초음파에 의한 침출방법이 가장 좋은 불순물 제거 효율을 나타내었다. 실험결과 Al, Ca, Fe, K, Na 등이 주 불순물로 존재하고 있었으며, 그 외 미량의 불순물로 Ba, Cu, Sr, Ti 등이 존재하였다. 실리카 광물중의 불순물 함량은 침출법에 의해 대부분 감소되었다. 또한 주 불순물인 Al, Fe의 경우 침출방법에 따라 제거율이 크게 차이나지 않았으나, Ca, Mn, Na 등은 제거율이 현저히 다른 양상을 나타내었다. 물리적 정제과정을 거친 4종류의 실리카 광물(순도 99% 이상)을 초음파를 이용한 산 침출법으로 정제한 결과, 총 불순물의 양은 NK-Si와 GR-Si이 적었으나 산 침출과정을 거친 후에는 IN-Si 실리카의 불순물 량이 가장 적게 나타났다. 불순물 중 Ca, Cr, K, Zn 등은 거의 80% 이상 초음파 침출법에 의해 제거되었고, 주 불순물인 Al의 경우 시료에 따라 10~60%의 제거율 차이를 나타내며 Fe는 모든 시료에서 60% 이상 제거되었다.

Mineral N, Macro Elements Uptake and Physiological Parameters in Tomato Plants Affected by Different Nitrate Levels

  • The aim of this study was to know whether leaf nitrate can be a substitute of total leaf N to justify plant N status and how nitrate influences macro elements uptake and physiological parameters of tomato plants under different nitrogen levels. Leaf nitrate content decreased in low N, while showed similar value with the control in high N, ranging from 55 to $70mg\;g^{-1}$. Differences in nitrate supply led to nitrate-dependent increases in macro elements, particularly cations, while gradual decrease in P. Physiological parameters, photosynthesis rates and antioxidants, greatly responded in N deficient conditions rather than high N, which didn't show any significant differences compared the control. Considering nitrogen forms and physiological parameters, total-N in tomato plants represented positive relation with growth (shoot dry weight), nitrate and $CO_2$ assimilation, whereas negative relation with lipid peroxidation.

  • To develope SOC(social overhead capita) which constructs the railroad, highway etc., the geo-technical foundation have to be well understood for the safety works. In this paper, we selected Moonkyung area for the study area, which has various geological units and geological structure including the big thrust and fold. By this reason one of the geo-technical information is the engineering geology map. To make the map, lithology and soil distribution with drilling data are important elements. Three dimensional geo-infomation is established by fence diagram which is several geological cross sections and/or computer software 3D Geomodeller, EarthVision, GSI3D, Gocad.

전남 서남부지역의 납석, 고능석과 명반석 광상의 광물조성 및 지구화학적 특성에 관한 연구 (The Mineral Compositions and Geochemical Characters of Pyrophyllite, Kaolinite, and Alunite deposits of Southwestern Cheonnam, Korea)

  • Pyrophyllite, kaolinite, and alunite deposits distributing in Southwestern parts of Cheonnam are classified into three types of minerals assemblages by the results of X-ray diffraction analysis etc. The first mineral assemblages contains pyrophyllite, kaolinite, dickite, quartz, diaspore and/or corundum, the second one contains alunite inseads of corundum, and the third one contains alunite without pyrophyllite and diaspore. It is can be considered that the depoSits which consist mainly of pyrophyllite are formed higher temperature than the other deposits. Judging form the chemical analyses the chemical compositions of hydrothermal solutions acting to the deposits seem to be relatively simple. But the hydrothermal solutions which generated Dogcheon, Jugjcon, Ogmaesan, and Seongsan mine contain rather somewhat higher $K_2O$. The values of the Trace Elements and REE analysis of the host rocks of deposits suggest that the host rocks are these deposits are the last products of magmatic differentiation.

IRON, COPPER, COBALT AND MANGANESE REQUIREMENTS IN MILK-FED CROSSBRED CALVES

  • A balance study was conducted to determine the requirements of iron, copper, cobalt and manganese in crossbred calves. Six calves were fed milk average 10 percent of their body weight and were supplemented with 15 g mineral mixture daily. A balance trial was conducted at $2\frac{1}{2}$ months of age. The primary route of excretion was through digestive tract as 99.87, 80.99, 77.27 and 99.94 percent of Fe, Cu, Co and Mn were excreted through faeces. The requirements of Fe, Cu, Co and Mn were computed using the respective mineral balance data and were found to be 169.60, 7.20, 4.48 and 8.89 mg/kg respectively.

  • 중성자 방사화분석법으로 알루미늄중 28개의 미량원소들의 분석을 위하여 방사화학적 분리방법을 개발하였다. 이 분리법은 이온 교환수지와 무기질 이온 교환체를 사용한 군분리에 기초를 둔 것으로서 이온교환통은 유리관을 사용하였으며 용매는 불산용액을 제외한 무기산용액 혹은 유기용매와 혼합된 무기산 용액을 사용하였다. 함량은 분리된 카 원소들의 방사능을 $3"\times3"\;Nal(TI)$ 검출기로 감마선 스펙트럼을 구한 다음 단일비교 체법으로 결정하였다.
