무방향 그래프의 최대인접병합 방법을 적용한 최소절단 알고리즘 (A Minimum Cut Algorithm Using Maximum Adjacency Merging Method of Undirected Graph)

  • 주어진 그래프 G=(V,E), n=|V|, m=|E|에 대해 최소절단을 찾는 연구는 공급처 s와 수요처 t가 주어지지 않은 경우와 주어진 경우로 구분된다. s와 t가 주어지지 않은 무방향 가중 그래프에 대한 Stoer-Wagner 알고리즘은 임의의 정점을 고정시키고 최대 인접 순서로 나열하여 마지막 정점의 절단 값과 마지막 2개 정점을 병합하면서 정점을 축소시키는 방법으로 $\frac{n(n-1)}{2}$회를 수행한다. 또한, s와 t가 주어진 그래프에 대한 Ford-Fulkerson 알고리즘은 증대경로를 탐색하여 절단 간선을 결정한다. 더 이상의 증대 경로가 없으면 절단 간선들의 조합으로 최소절단을 결정해야 한다. 본 논문은 단일 s와 t가 주어진 무방향 가중 그래프에 대해 최대인접 병합과 절단값을 동시에 계산하는 방법으로 n-1회 수행으로 단축시켰다. 또한, Stoer-Wagner 알고리즘은 최소 절단을 기준으로 V=S+T로 양분하지 못할 수 있는데 반해 제안된 알고리즘은 정확히 양분시켰다. 제안된 알고리즘은 Ford-Fulkerson의 증대경로를 찾는 수행횟수보다 많이 수행하지만 수행과정에서 최소절단을 결정하는 장점이 있다.

A Study on Effective Source-Skin Distance using Phantom in Electron Beam Therapy

  • In this study, for 6-20 MeV electron beam energy occurring in a linear accelerator, the authors attempted to investigate the relation between the effective source-skin distance and the relation between the radiation field and the effective source-skin distance. The equipment used included a 6-20 MeV electron beam from a linear accelerator, and the distance was measured by a ionization chamber targeting the solid phantom. The measurement method for the effective source-skin distance according to the size of the radiation field changes the source-skin distance (100, 105, 110, 115 cm) for the electron beam energy (6, 9, 12, 16, 20 MeV). The effective source-skin distance was measured using the method proposed by Faiz Khan, measuring the dose according to each radiation field ($6{\times}6$, $10{\times}10$, $15{\times}150$, $20{\times}20cm^2$) at the maximum dose depth (1.3, 2.05, 2.7, 2.45, 1.8 cm, respectively) of each energy. In addition, the effective source-skin distance when cut-out blocks ($6{\times}6$, $10{\times}10$, $15{\times}15cm^2$) were used and the effective source-skin distance when they were not used, was measured and compared. The research results showed that the effective source-skin distance was increased according to the increase of the radiation field at the same amount of energy. In addition, the minimum distance was 60.4 cm when the 6 MeV electron beams were used with $6{\times}6$ cut-out blocks and the maximum distance was 87.2 cm when the 6 MeV electron beams were used with $20{\times}20$ cut-out blocks; thus, the largest difference between both of these was 26.8 cm. When comparing the before and after the using the $6{\times}6$ cut-out block, the difference between both was 8.2 cm in 6 MeV electron beam energy and was 2.1 cm in 20 MeV. Thus, the results showed that the difference was reduced according to an increase in the energy. In addition, in the comparative experiments performed by changing the size of the cut-out block at 6 MeV, the results showed that the source-skin distance was 8.2 cm when the size of the cut-out block was $6{\times}6$, 2.5 cm when the size of the cut-out block was $10{\times}10$, and 21.4 cm when the size of the cut-out block $15{\times}15$. In conclusion, it is recommended that the actual measurement is used for each energy and radiation field in the clinical dose measurement and for the measurement of the effective source-skin distance using cut-out blocks.

석회석광산의 식생녹화방법에 관한 고찰 -일본 이부키광산과 부코우광산의 사례연구- (Study on the Revegetation Methods for the Rehabilitation and Restoration of the Disturbed Slopes in Limestone Mines -Case study of Ibuki mine and Bukou mine in Japan-)

  • The purpose of this study is to establish the basis of the ecological restoration on the limestone mines in Korea, through the research of the revegetation measures of the disturbed slopes in Japanese limestone mines and the analysis of the case of Ibuki and Bukou limestone mines to realize the restoration works successfully. According to the number of mines to carry out the revegetation works increase every year, the revegetation area and amount of planting also go on increasing in Japan. In the small mines the environmental problem is not recognized seriously, but some mines have muchly invested in the revegetation of the damaged land by mines. Ibuki mine in Shiga-gen is practicing the four principles for the restoring of the revegetation in the disturbed slopes by mines. Firstly, the mean slope preserves $37^{\circ}$ in the last rock cut slopes. Secondly, the last rock cut slopes to rehabilitate are covered with the soil dressing 30cm high. Thirdly, the grasses in the mining area are digged up beforehand, and then they are reused to the revegetation works of rock cut slopes. Lastly, from the upper rock cut slopes the revegetation works begin, the process of the above are repeated, as the result, the restoring works will be completed. Upon the ground of these principles, the complex of the original vegetation and the native species seeding, that is, the revegetation technique of Ibuki have established. In the difficult area to revegetate, sodding works, heaping up vegetation-sack, seed-spraying, heaping up soil-sacks and planting works are adapted variously. Bukou mine in Saitama-gen try to maintain the revegetation, the screening and the stability of the enormous mining rock cut slope, and for these works, the activity of 'Chichibu Working Group of Rock Wall for Limestone Mines' contributes largely. The chief technique of the revegetation in Bukou mine is following; after the making the berm on the rock cut slopes, the soil dressing is filled in it, and the trees is planted for the screening of the rock cut slopes. They devide the rock cut slopes into four typical types, and choose the different ways to make the berm and fill the soil dressing in characteristic. Most of the planting trees are consist ofthe native species of Mt. Bukou through the stages of the nursery and transplantation. Not only the revegetation of the demaged land but also the breeding of the conservational plants also are their important business.

Shelf-Life Extension of Fresh-Cut Iceberg Lettuce (Lactuca sativa L) by Different Antimicrobial Films

  • This study was conducted to investigate the antibacterial activity and shelf-life extension effect of iceberg lettuce packed in BN/PE film. The BN/PE film has a strong microbial suppression effect on pathogenic bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Salmonella enteritidis, and S. typhimurium. The number of psychrophiles and mesophiles during 5 days of cold storage of fresh-cut iceberg lettuce at $10^{\circ}C$ packaged in BN/PE film was strictly suppressed in comparison with other tested films (OPP, PE, and PET film). When fresh processed iceberg lettuce was processed and stored under the current conditions, the shelf-life of the product was longer than 5 days in the BN/PE film package, whereas the shelf-life when using the other films tested, PE, OPP and PET, was no longer than 3-4 days. The decay rates of the iceberg lettuce packed in the BN/PE film was maintained at $29.8{\pm}2.1%$ on the 5th day of preservation. The samples packed in BN/PE film maintained an excellent visual quality during the 3 days of storage without significant differences in comparison with the initial visual quality. No browning was observed in the samples packed in BN/PE film for up to 3 days. The texture of shredded iceberg lettuce packaged in BN/PE film remained unchanged up to 3 days, and then a moderate decrease in texture was observed after 4 days of storage. In addition, the overall acceptability of fresh-cut iceberg lettuce packaged in BN/PE film did not change for up to 3 days, whereas the samples packaged in the other films were inedible by 3 days of storage. In conclusion, the shelf-life of fresh-cut iceberg lettuce packaged in the BN/PE film was extended to more than 5 days at $10^{\circ}C$, whereas that in the other films was 2 days at $10^{\circ}C$. Therefore, the shelf-life extension effect of the fresh-cut iceberg lettuce in BN/PE film packaging was very effective compared with the other films tested.

Quality Assessment of Longissimus and Semitendinosus Muscles from Beef Cattle Subjected to Non-penetrative and Penetrative Percussive Stunning Methods

  • This study provides a comparative analysis of the effects of pre-slaughter penetrative and non-penetrative stunning and post-slaughter stunning on meat quality attributes in longissimus lumborum (LL) and semitendinosus (ST) muscles in heifers. Ten animals were assigned to each of four treatment groups: i) animals were subjected to conventional Halal slaughter (a clean incision through the structures at the front of the upper neck - the trachea, oesophagus, carotid arteries and jugular veins) and post-cut penetrating mechanical stun within 10 to 20 s of the neck cut (Unstunned; US); ii) high power non-penetrating mechanical stunning followed by the neck cut (HPNP); iii) low power non-penetrating mechanical stunning followed by the neck cut (LPNP); and iv) penetrative stunning using a captive bolt pistol followed by the neck cut (P). For each carcass, muscle samples were removed within 45 min of slaughter, portioned and analysed for pH, cooking loss, water holding capacity (WHC), tenderness (WBS), lipid oxidation (TBARS) and color, over a two week storage period. Stunning did not affect pH and cooking loss. Significant differences in water holding capacity, tenderness, lipid oxidation and color were present at different storage time points. HPNP stunning resulted in lower WHC and color values, particularly lightness ($L^*$), higher TBARS values and peak force values compared with those stunned using LPNP, P and US. These adverse effects on quality were mostly encountered in the ST muscle. In conclusion, the meat quality achieved using P, LPNP and US treatments was comparable, and no treatment stood out as considerably better than another.

THE EFFECT OF MECHANICAL PROCESSING OF HAY ON THE EATING AND RUMINATION BEHAVIOUR IN SHEEP

  • An experiment was carried out to investigate the effect of change in length of hay offered on eating and rumination behaviour in sheep using three types of hay diets (L: long, M: 8.0-cm cut, S: 1.2-cm cut) and 3 Japanese Corriedale wethers, and the experiment was designed as $3{\times}3$ latine square. The time spent eating per 100 g hay was significantly shorter with long (L) hay (p < 0.05) than with chopped (M and S) hay, and therefore, the eating rate (g D.M./min.) was significantly higher in the former (p < 0.05) than in the latter. Rumination appearance (the lag time after eating) tended to be longer with long hay than with chopped hay, but not significantly (p > 0.05). Daily time spent ruminating, the actual chewing time and daily number of chews tended to be more in feeding long hay than in feeding chopped hay, but not significantly. Daily number of rumination periods was significantly more with long hay (p < 0.01) than with chopped hay. Cyclic rate tended to be longer with long hay than with chopped hay, in particular, the difference in values between long hay and 8.0-cm cut hay was significant statistically (p < 0.01). The rumination index (time spent ruminating/100 g D.M, eaten) tended to be higher with long hay than with chopped hay, and the difference in values between long hay and 1.2-cm cut hay was significant statistically (p < 0.05). Bolus time was significantly longer with long hay (p < 0.01) than that with 8.0-cm cut hay. The circadian pattern of ruminating time was not changed by the changes in length of hay eaten.

액션어드벤쳐게임 컷신을 위한 UCD 디자인 연구 (A Study on User-Centered Design for Cut-scene in Action-Adventure Games)

  • 최근 게임시장은 게임제작과정과 게임디자인 분야의 많은 발전에 의하여 게임 상 컷씬(cut-scene)의 디자인 스타일과 완성도 또한 지속적인 발전을 이루고 있다. 따라서 항상 게임 디자이너들은 여러 디자인 방향성에서 보다 쉬운 인지와 인기 있는 디자인을 얻으려는 노력을 한다. 그러나 개발자에 의존한 디자인 전략은 최종 디자인결과물이 게임플레이어에게 사랑 받고 있는지 성과여부를 판단 할 수 없게 되며 모든 면에서 빠르게 변화하는 게임시장의 요구를 충족 할 수 없다. 또한 디자인 최종 완성도와 같은 어려운 절차들은 게임 컷씬 장면의 제작 및 이용을 어렵게 한다. 따라서 본 연구는 사용자 중심 디자인(UCD) 바탕의 비디오 게임 속 컷씬 디자인방법을 제시하여 제작환경에서 원작의 느낌을 훼손하지 않으면서 디자이너가 전하고자 하는 메시지를 더욱 부각시키고 흥미를 이끌어 몰입감을 높이는데 도움이 될 것이다.

Quality characteristics of fresh cut apples during storage according to processing steps and browning inhibitor treatment

  • We examined the changes in the physicochemical quality characteristics and antioxidant activity of fresh-cut Fuji apples (Malus pumila) during processing and storage after treatment with browning inhibitors. The primary aim was to elucidate processing suitability and storability. We observed that in the processing stage of slicing fresh Fuji apples, there were no significant differences in 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) and 2,2'-azinobis (3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid (ABTS) radical scavenging ability and ferric-reducing antioxidant power (FRAP). However, after NaClO treatment, total flavonoid and total polyphenol contents decreased. When freshcut Fuji apples were treated with browning inhibitors and stored at 4℃, the L value and hardness decreased; however, the weight loss rate increased based on the storage period of all fruit groups treated with Citrus unshiu Markovich (CuM), calcium ascorbate (CA), and ascorbic acid (AA). The pH increased after 2 days of storage in 1% CuM and after 6 days of storage in 1% CA; however, no changes in pH were observed during the storage period in 1% AA. The DPPH radical scavenging activity was generally good under storage conditions of 1% AA at 4℃ and 1% CA at 20℃. Furthermore, FRAP remained relatively constant under storage conditions of 1% CA. The quality characteristics and antioxidant activity of fresh-cut fruits during processing and storage can be used as basic data for industries. Furthermore, we can gain confidence in quality improvements by improving the production and distribution environment of fresh-cut agricultural products.

클로버 오일을 이용한 생마 저온부패균의 제어 및 기능성 생마 신선편이의 제조 (Control of Yam-Putrefactive Psychrotrophic Bacterium Using Clove Oil and Preparation of Functional Fresh-Cut)

  • 생마의 저장성 및 접근성 강화에 따른 소비증대 및 유통 안전성을 확보하기 위해, 생마 저온부패균을 효율적으로 제어하는 천연물을 선별하였다. 저온$(4^{\circ}C)$ 및 상온$(30^{\circ}C)$ 부패에 직접적으로 관여하는 Pseudomonas rhodesiae YAM-12 에 대해 다양한 자생 및 약용식물 추출물 800여종의 항균력을 평가하였으며, 그 결과 클로버 오일을 선정하였으며, 이를 이용한 생마 신선편이 개발 가능성을 검토하였다. 건전생마 신선편이에 1%클로버 오일을 3분간 침지하여, $4^{\circ}C$에서 31일간 저장한 경우, 색차의 변화는 거의 나타나지 않았으며, 미생물의 증식 또한 완전히 억제되었다. 한편 P. rhodesiae YAM-12를 인위적으로 오염시키고(초기농도 $10^3$ CFU/g), $4^{\circ}C$에서 14일간 저장한 경우에도, 1%클로버 오일의 처리는 색차 변화를 최소화하며, 미생물증식을 $10^4$ CFU/g로 억제하였다. 반면 무처리, 멸균수 및 NaOCl 처리의 경우에는 심각한 부패와 함께 색차변화로 상품성을 상실하였다. 클로버 오일의 항균, 항산화, 항혈전 활성과 향신료로 사용되어온 점을 고려할 때, 클로버 오일을 처리한 생마 신선편이는 별도의 화학 방부제 처리 없이 생마의 유통안전성 향상 및 부패억제, 기능성 및 향미부여에 유용하게 사용될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

터보 컴프레셔용 복합재료 틸팅 패드 저널 베어링의 오일 공급 중단 상황에서의 내구성 연구 (Study on the Durability of Composite Tilting Pad Journal Bearing for Turbo Compressor System under Oil-cut Situation)

  • 터보/컴프레셔(Turbo compressor)용 틸팅 패드 저널 베어링(Tilting pad journal bearing)은 고속, 고하중의 주축(Rotor)을 지지하는 역할을 하며, 화이트 메탈(White metal)이 대표적인 소재로 널리 사용되어왔다. 그러나 예기치 않은 윤활유 공급 중단 상황(Oil cut situation) 또는 베어링과 주축 사이에 유막(Oil film)이 제대로 형성되지 않을 경우, 기존의 화이트 메탈 베어링은 융착(Seizure) 현상에 의해 바로 정지하게 되고 주축에 심각한 손상을 유발한다. 이러한 융착 문제를 해결하기 위해 기존의 화이트 메탈에 비해 높은 비강성, 비강도 그리고 뛰어난 마찰 특성(Tribological characteristic)을 가지는 탄소섬유 강화 복합재료(Carbon fiber reinforced composite)가 틸팅 패드 저널 베어링에 사용될 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 고 내열성 탄소섬유/에폭시 복합재료 틸팅 패드 저널 베어링의 오일공급 중단 상황에서의 내구성에 대한 연구를 진행하였다. 이를 위해 상온 및 오일공급 중단상황의 고온에서 인장, 압축, 전단 등의 기초적인 복합재료 물성 실험을 진행하였고, 복합재료 틸팅 패드 저널 베어링에 있어 가장 중요한 물성인 층간 계면 강도를 측정하기 위해 Short Beam Shear 실험을 진행 하였다. 오일 공급 중단 상황에서 복합재료 틸팅 패드 저널 베어링의 파손(Failure) 가능성을 알아보기 위해 유한 요소 해석(Finite element analysis)을 진행함으로써 베어링 표면에 가해지는 최대 응력을 도출하였고, 해석 결과와 물성 시험으로부터 측정된 강도 값을 이용하여 Tsai-Wu Failure index를 계산하였다. 해석 결과를 검증하기 위해 산업용 테스트 벤치를 이용하여 탄소섬유/에폭시 복합재료로 제조된 틸팅 패드 저널 베어링의 오일 공급 중단 실험을 진행하였다.
