Defense Systems Test Center in ADD supports increasingly various missile test requirements such as higher altitude event, multi target operation and low-altitude, high velocity target tracking. In this paper, we have proposed the development of instrumentation radar tracking status simulator based on virtual reality. This simulator can predict the tracking status and risk of failure using several modeling algorithms. It consists of target model, radar model, environment model and several algorithms includes the multipath interference effects. Simulation results show that the predict tracking status and signal are similar to the test results of the live flight test. This simulator predicts and analyze all of the status and critical parameters such as the optimal site location, servo response, optimal flight trajectory, LOS(Line of Sight). This simulator provides the mission plan with a powerful M&S tool to rehearse and analyze instrumentation tracking radar measurement plan for live flight test at DSTC(Defense Systems Test Center).

The purpose of this study is to analyze the MAUP's effect in visibility analysis using GIS. MAUP normally occurs in the process in terrain spatial analysis including visibility analysis. There are two different types of grid data(based on digital map and Digital Terrain Elevation Data) and 10 different types of areal units are made for modeling, such as $5m{\times}5m,\;10m{\times}10m,\;15m{\times}15m,\;20m{\times}20m,\;25m{\times}25m,\;30m{\times}30m,\;35m{\times}35m,\;40m{\times}40m,\;45m{\times}45m,\;50m{\times}50$. By analyzing the result, it was possible to observe varying viewshed areas according to different grid cell sizes and the viewshed area did not varied linearly as expected. From a general point of view, smaller unit data map out the real world in more detail, but the results of modeling do not always reach a good conclusion when data are used in modeling for terrain analysis because of the MAUP' effect. The grid cell sizes of 30m or less seems to be adequate for visibility analysis, including terrain analysis considering vegetation heights.

The encounter probability graph is measured by the chance(in percent) that a vehicle, blindly moving through a minefield, will detonate a mine. The encounter probability graph versus minefield density is presented in ROK and US Army field manual but this graph is baseless because these data had not been presented as those of live mobility or wargame. In this paper, we verified this graph building procedure model as using computer program. The result values of program are almost like those of graph. Therefore this model for our to suggest have validation, verification that a modeling demand and we convince that this model will be useful for calculating encounter probability of multiple vehicles.

The drone-type base station will be an optimal platform as a way of information sharing for efficient operation of the military force due to their high network flexibility. It is expected that the characteristics of the drone-type base station which would freely adjust the altitude can be used to offset the propagation attenuation characteristics of the millimeter-wave frequency band by securing the stable Line of Sight. In this paper, we proposed a framework for evaluation drone-type base station that can be utilized as a future military communication network by performing modeling for performance analysis that can reflect various factors.

Recently, weapon system requires personal protection products due to the explosion of rapid-fire explosion, which is considered to be multi threat in modernization, complication and war against terrorism. However, the conventional Korean military bullet protection helmets are not suitable for wearing convenience and combatant interoperability in terms of ergonomic. In this paper, we propose a suitable 3D Scanning method for the head, and compare the measured 3D dimension with the existing 2D measurement value to identity the reliability. Reverse engineered soldier head using the quick surface method was realized with a perfect free-form surface and satisfactory tolerance range (${\pm}0.2mm$). Through the comparison of 3D and 2D measured head dimensions, the absolute error value was 0.73 mm on average and relative error was 0.35 %, confirming the high accuracy of the 3D scan modeling. Also, quick surface method using 3D scanner is suggested a fast and accurate skill for ergonomics in obtaining the head modeling needed for military's personal bullet protection helmet design.

To expand the use of three dimensional(3D) product modelling in the army, we have analyzed military technical data management system, as well as the military guidelines for the unique format and content of technical data package. Because traditional munition sector is based on the machinery and equipment industry, they have usually applied two dimensional(2D) drawings to prepare a design and to make a product. For that reason, there is no provision for 3D product modelling as a technical data package in the military guideline. In this study, we proposed an improvement scheme for the vitalization of 3D product modelling in the army not only in terms of related guideline but also military technical data management system.

It is well known that any maintenance works for aircrafts must be carried out strictly in accordance with the specified maintenance manuals, especially for military airplanes. According to our previous studies, the largest portion of the maintenance jobs for military aircrafts is found to be related to the assembly/disassembly of various parts, which requires precise understanding of the work procedures as well as correlation between interconnected parts let alone grasping of the exact shapes of parts involved. However, the conventional manuals for aircraft maintenance have failed to provide enough information required for the efficient maintenance except for simple texts and vague pictures, which are far from being sufficient sets of information. On the contrary, unlike incomplete conventional manuals with poor contents, 3D modeling SW could provide us with not only powerful visualization tool even to see through inside any assembly but also freedom to watch parts under test from any angle we want. In addition, the maintenance personnels could learn the precise maintenance procedures through repeatedly watching 3D animated version of the maintenance work as if they were on the field. In this study, we have suggested the efficient procedures to develop 3D manual for aircraft maintenance using 3D modeling SW, Solidworks and implemented a 3D maintenance manual for Integrated Drive Generator(IDG) in Boeing 747. Characteristics of the developed 3D manual has been analyzed in comparison with the conventional ones as well. It is shown that the suggested method could be easily applied to develop a 3D maintenance manual for commercial airplanes since the maintenance works involving assembly/disassembly of major parts are very similar regardless of aircraft types.

Background: Breast cancer (BC) is the most common cancer among females in Turkey. Predictors affecting the breast self-examination (BSE) performance vary in developing countries. Objective: To determine the frequency of BSE performance and predictors of self-reported BSEs among women in the capital city of Turkey. Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted on 376 Turkish women using a self-administered questionnaire covering socio-demographic variables and BSE-related features. Results: Of the participants, 78.7% (N=296) reported practicing BSE, whereas 9.5% (N=28) were implementing BSE regularly on a monthly basis, and only 5.7% (N=17) were performing BSE regularly within a week after each menstrual cycle. Multivariate logistic regression modeling revealed that BSE performance was more likely in younger age groups [20-39 years] (p=0.018, OR=3.215) and [40-49 years] (p=0.009, OR=3.162), women having a family history of breast disease (p=0.038, OR=2.028), and housewives (p=0.013, OR=0.353). Conclusions: Although it appears that the rates of BSE performers are high, the number of women conducting appropriate BSE on a regular time interval basis is lower than expected. Younger age groups, family history of breast diseases and not being employed were identified as significant predictors of practicing BSE appropriately. Older age and employment were risk factors for not performing BSE in this sample.

The purpose of this research is to analyze the gamma ray shielding effect of heavy concrete containing magnetic aggregate and to confirm the applicability to the military protective facilities. In general, a military concrete structure protects combatants from bullets, and also it provides some radiation shielding. In this research, experiments were conducted using a Cs-137 source to check the gamma ray shielding effect. In addition, the Monte Carlo N-Particle(MCNP) modeling was applied to evaluate the gamma ray shielding effect of a military structure. As a result, as the concrete thickness increased, the shielding performance improved according th the linear attenuation law. With that, as the ratio of magnetic aggregate was increased, gamma ray shielding performance was also improved. Therefore, this research verified that the application of magnetic aggregate concrete to military facilities for radiation shielding purposes would be useful.

In environment of torpedo firing, underwater acoustic signal is generated by target and noise. Sound wave which is generated from acoustic signal is propagated by seawater and it is received through the sonar(sound navigation and ranging) system mounted on torpedo. In the ocean, acoustic signal or sound wave from target that is generated by the spread of broadband can be attenuated by ambient noise and can be lost by medium and environment. This research is designed to support teamwork training in Naval operations by constructing a simulation system that is more similar to the real-world conditions. This paper attempts to research the modeling of target detection and to develop the simulation of torpedo sonar(TOSO). In order to develop the realistic simulation, we researched the broadband sound modeling of target and noise source, the modeling of acoustic transmission loss by chemical component of seawater, and the modeling of signal attenuation by ambient noise environment which is approximated by experimental measurements in seawater surrounding the Korea Peninsular and by experience of Navy's actual torpedo firing. This research contributed to constructing more practical simulation of torpedo firing in real time and the results of this research were used to develop a teamwork training system for the Navy and their education.
