Data Correction For Enhancing Classification Accuracy By Unknown Deep Neural Network Classifiers

  • Deep neural networks provide excellent performance in pattern recognition, audio classification, and image recognition. It is important that they accurately recognize input data, particularly when they are used in autonomous vehicles or for medical services. In this study, we propose a data correction method for increasing the accuracy of an unknown classifier by modifying the input data without changing the classifier. This method modifies the input data slightly so that the unknown classifier will correctly recognize the input data. It is an ensemble method that has the characteristic of transferability to an unknown classifier by generating corrected data that are correctly recognized by several classifiers that are known in advance. We tested our method using MNIST and CIFAR-10 as experimental data. The experimental results exhibit that the accuracy of the unknown classifier is a 100% correct recognition rate owing to the data correction generated by the proposed method, which minimizes data distortion to maintain the data's recognizability by humans.

  • Video surveillance is widely used in security surveillance, military navigation, intelligent transportation, etc. Its main research fields are pattern recognition, computer vision and artificial intelligence. This article uses OpenCV to detect and track vehicles, and monitors by establishing an adaptive model on a stationary background. Compared with traditional vehicle detection, it not only has the advantages of low price, convenient installation and maintenance, and wide monitoring range, but also can be used on the road. The intelligent analysis and processing of the scene image using CAMSHIFT tracking algorithm can collect all kinds of traffic flow parameters (including the number of vehicles in a period of time) and the specific position of vehicles at the same time, so as to solve the vehicle offset. It is reliable in operation and has high practical value.

  • 기존 군사 분야 영상 판독 시스템은 영상 판독관들의 작업 부담이 크고, 판독관들의 경험과 숙련도에 의존적이다. 이전 연구에서 판독관들의 부담을 줄이고 경험 및 숙련 의존도를 낮추기 위해 문장 추천 시스템을 제안하였다. 하지만 학습에 사용된 데이터의 양이 적고, 학습에 사용되지 않은 장비 혹은 지역 등의 단어가 등장 시 제대로 동작하지 않는 한계점이 있었다. 이를 해결하기 위해 학습 데이터 단계와 디코딩 단계에 지식그래프를 적용하여 문장의 다양성과 확장성을 확보하고, 데이터 부족 문제를 완화하였다. 이 연구는 추후 판독관들의 업무 과부화를 완화하고 업무 효율을 높일 수 있을 것이다.

  • 최근 군사 분야에서 사용하는 기존 판독시스템을 개선하기 위해 판독보고서를 기반으로 문장을 추천해주는 시스템이 연구되었다. 제안한 시스템에서 문장을 추천하기 위해 Beam Search 알고리즘을 사용하는데, Beam Search 알고리즘은 추천해 주는 문장의 다양성이 떨어진다는 문제가 있었고, 이를 해결하기 위해 Divers Beam Search 알고리즘을 응용하여 적용하였다. 이는 판독관들의 업무효율을 높임으로써 업무 과 부화를 해결할 수 있을 것이다.

A Review on the Costume Changes According to Ideological Transition through the Portraitures of Napoleon (나폴레옹의 초상화를 통한 사상적 조류 변화에 따른 복식 변화 고찰)

  • This thesis aims to analyze the costume changes according to the ideological transition through the portraits of Napoleon Bonaparte. This study selected 32 color pictures of Napoleon, which was taken during his time as a general to his ascension as Emperor (1785-1815). The study qualitatively analyzed the traits and costume elements in view of the items, color and ornaments of the costume, while studying the effects of the ideological transition. The costumes of Napoleon were categorized into three parts: general, governor and Emperor. Firstly, Napoleon most frequently wore the navy uniforms when taking the portraits as a general. The uniform gave Napoleon the image of strength, youth and intelligence, which reflected the ideology of enlightenment. Secondly, the red-colored administrator uniform, combined with a military coat with culotte, was worn to make the governor look intelligent, which would ascribe to the ideological demand of the enlightenment. Lastly, his portraits as emperor showed him in long white tunica, combined with red-colored coronation cape ornamented with embroidery, ermine fur, and the crown of laurel. This costume denoted both the enlightenment and also the neoclassical trend aspiring for the return to the Greek and Roman era. In this way, the portrait of Napoleon might be expected to reflect the periodical change of the ideology through describing the transition of the costumes. It might be evident that his image of the strong general changed to that of an intelligent governor, which was in demand when the enlightenment idea became popular. When Napoleon became the emperor, his image changed into that of a Roman emperor, which implies that neoclassical ideas were used as source of influence.

Study on the Image of Blue in Apparel Design (복식에 표현된 청색 이미지의 고찰)

  • The purpose of this study is to classify the images of blue based on expressive values communicated by color on symbolic aspects and the blue images expressed in modem apparel fashion. Images of blue are classified through the document studies as follows : The expressive values of blue are cold, receding, and sedative. Based on these values, affimative images of blue are classified infinite, lofty, peaceful, tranquil and contemplate. Negative images are classified sad, indecent, rebellious, and indignant. In apparel fashion, blue acted as a important image factor in classic, workwear, military and marine look. Blue green and purple blue in pale, greyish and light tones were showed as trend color. Meanwhile, purple blues in dark greyish, pale and greyish tones were more used for domestic womens wear.

  • In this paper, we describe an outdoor augmented reality system using GPS tracking for position and attitude information. The system consist of a remote mobile operation unit and a ground operation unit. The remote mobile operation unit includes a real-time image acquiring device, a GPS tracking device, and a wireless data transceiver; the ground operation unit includes a wireless transceiver, a virtual image generating device, and an image superimposing device. The GPS tracking device for measurement of position and attitude of the remote mobile operation unit was designed by TANS Vector and RT-20 for DGPS. The wireless data transceiver was for data transmission between the remote mobile operation unit and the ground operation unit. After the remote mobile operation unit was installed on a vehicle and a helicopter, the system was evaluated to verify its validity in actual applications. It was found that the implemented system could be used for obtaining real-time remote information such as construction simulation, tour guide, broadcasting, disaster observation, or military purpose.

  • Recently, researchers are actively addressed to utilize Unmanned Aerial Vehicles(UAV) for military and industry applications. One of these applications is to trace the preceding flight when it is necessary to track the route of the suspicious reconnaissance aircraft in secret, and it is necessary to estimate the attitude of the target flight such as Roll, Yaw, and Pitch angles in each instant. In this paper, we propose a method for estimating in real time the attitude of a target aircraft using the video information that is provide by an external camera of a following aircraft. Various image processing methods such as color space division, template matching, and statistical methods such as linear regression were applied to detect and estimate key points and Euler angles. As a result of comparing the X-plane flight data with the estimated flight data through the simulation experiment, it is shown that the proposed method can be an effective method to estimate the flight attitude information of the previous flight.

  • Observations of internal waves in the southwest coastal waters of Korea have been made using a mooring measurement and satellite SAR together. From May 28 to May 30 in 2002, thermistor chains with RCM and ADCP mooring measurements were carried out at 10 kin west of Ocheong-Do, together with a CTD field sur-vey on the surrounding waters. Also, a SAR image was acquired on May 29 at 06:53. The data from the in-situ measurement show several internal wave packets passing through the mooring point and the SAR image reveals numbers of internal wave packets distributed around the point. Temporal and spatial characteristics of internal waves in the southwest coastal waters were analyzed using the data from mooring measurement, SAR image, and the K-dv equation. The internal waves are important phenomena in terms of physical oceanography and military as well as marine biology. They should be considered as one of important features in the southwest coastal waters in summer.

The Character as Genre and History as Image of Female Gugguek (여성국극의 장르적 성격과 이미지로서의 역사)

  • This research established that the two characteristics of Femail Gugguek were explored on the character as genre and the nationalism discourse. This research also included how to encounter the characteristic of Female Gugguek as a popular entertainment with the social context at the time and how to re-produce the social ideology. The 'historical nationalism narrative' piercing Female Gugguek had the close relation with the nation/state discourse of the time. The history reproduced by Female Gugguek was not real. It was the imagined past, the history as image. The Female Gugguek was a genre which typically showed how to intermediate fantasy, ideology and narrative. The happy-endings with the victory of male hero, the narrative pattern on overcoming national crisis, the narrative emphasizing the glorious past and the unification of nation, all these were projected the discourse on nationalistic ideology and nation/state-making in 1950's. The Utopian desire of Female Guggeuk imagining the glorious past and strong nation was the fantasy which concealed the contradiction in real life and the national identity damaged by colonial experience, division of territory, governance by U.S. Military Government and the Korean War. The Female Guggeuk was doing well, because it had amusement. Futhermore, imagination of glorious past and strong state/nation of Female Guggeuk satisfied the public's desire of escapism and wish to establish their position and identity in the rapid social-economic changes. However, Female Guggeuk repeatedly produced the never-changing characters, narrative pattern and conservative world-view. Thus, it became regarded as immature and obsolete thing in late 1950's. Female Guggeuk, which kept re-producing the retrogressive image of the past without modern viewpoint and interpretation, was not sensitive about change of time and trend of the people. Consequently, it was pushed out of people's major interest.
