The purposes of this study were to analyze the sound of bird's frequency region and pattern and to discuss hearing impaired children's auditory discrimination. The results were ie follows; 1) The sounds of bird's frequency region were divided into Low(below 1, 000Hz), Mid(between 1, 000 and 4, 000Hz) and High(between 2, 000 and 4, 000Hz). 2) The sounds of bird, which were same, long, high pattern, were in Mid & High. Short and high pattern were above High.
Background: Temperature-driven variation in pollinator assemblage and activity are important information, especially at high altitudes, where rising temperature trends exceed global levels. Temporal patterns of pollinators in a flowering season can be used as a proxy to predict the changes of high-altitude plants' mutualistic relationships. We observed a spring temperature change in one population of a high-altitude endemic species, Megaleranthis saniculifolia on Mt. Sobaeksan, and related it to pollinator assemblage and activity changes. Methods: This study was conducted at two sites, each facing different slopes (NE and NW), for two times in the spring of 2013 (early-flowering, April 27-28, vs. mid-flowering, May 7-8, 2013). We confirmed that the two sites were comparable in snowmelt regime, composition of flowering plants, and flower density, which could affect pollinator assemblage and activity. Pollinator assemblage and activity were investigated at three quadrats ($1m^2$ with 5-m distance) for each site, covering a total of 840 min observation for each site. We analyzed correlations between the temperature and visitation frequency. Results: Twelve pollinator species belonging to four orders were observed for M. saniculifolia at both sites during early- and mid-flowering times. Diptera (five species) and hymenopteran species (four species) were the most abundant pollinators. Pollinator richness increased at both sites toward the mid-flowering time [early vs. mid = 7 (NE) and 3 (NW) vs. 9 (NE) and 5 (NW)]. Compared to the early-flowering time, visitation frequency showed a fourfold increase in the mid-flowering time. With the progression of spring, major pollinators changed from flies to bees. Upon using data pooled over both sites and flowering times, hourly visitation frequency was strongly positively correlated with hourly mean air temperature. Conclusions: The spring temperature change over a relatively brief flowering period of M. saniculifolia at high altitudes can alter pollinator assemblages through pollinator dominance and visitation frequency changes. Thus, this study emphasizes information on intra- and inter-annual variations in the mutualistic relationship between pollinators and M. saniculifolia to further assess the warming impacts on M. saniculifolia's reproductive fitness.

There has been much effort to find suitable methods for structural analysis in the mid-frequency region where traditional low frequency methods have increasing uncertainties whilst statistical energy analysis is not strictly applicable. Systems consisting of relatively stiff beams coupled to flexible plates have a particularly broad mid-frequency region where the beams support only a few modes whilst the plate has a high modal density and modal overlap. A system of two parallel beams coupled to a plate is investigated based on the wave method, which is an approximate method. The wave model is extended from a single-beam-plate system, to a plate with two identical beams which is modelled using a symmetric-anti symmetric technique. Experimental results such as powers and energy ratios show the validity of the analytical wave models.

In this paper Power Flow Finite Element Method(PFFEM) has been implemented to analyze the vibration of a plate in mid and high frequency ranges. In order to solve the vibration energy governing equation in Power Flow Analysis(PFA), The Finite Element Method(FEM) was used as a numerical tool. It allowed one to predict the distribution of displacement and Intensity in the plate vibrating at mid and high frequencies. The results were compared with the analytical solutions and the approximate FEM solutions. The comparison showed that PFFEM can be an effective tool to analyze the structural vibration in mid and high frequency ranges.

Most of the studies use model order reduction for low frequency (LF) response analysis due to their high computational efficiency. In LF response analysis, one of model order reduction, algebraic substructuring (AS) retains all LF modes when using the modal superposition. However, in mid-frequency (MF) response analysis, the LF modes make very little contribution and also increase the number of retained modes, which leads to loss of computational efficiency. Therefore, MF response analysis should consider low truncated modes to improve the computational efficiency. The current work is focused on improving the computational efficiency using a AS and a frequency sweep algorithm. Finite element simulation for a MEMS resonator array showed that the performance of the presented method is superior to a conventional method.

In the study, energy flow analysis is performed to predict the performance of silencers. To date, deterministic approaches such as finite element method have been widely used for silencer analysis. However, they have limitations in analyzing large structures and mid-high frequency ranges due to unreasonable computational costs and errors. However, silencers used for ships and off-shore plants are much larger than those used in other engineering fields. Hence, energy governing equation, which is significantly efficient for systems with high modal density, is solved for silencers in ships and off-shore plants. The silencer is divided into two different acoustic media, air and absorption materials. The discontinuity of energy density at interfaces is solved via hypersingular integrals for the 3-D modified Helmholtz equation to analyze multi-domain problems with the energy flow boundary element method. The method is verified by comparing the measurements and analysis results for ship silencers over mid-high frequency ranges. The comparisons confirm good agreement between the measurement and analysis results. We confirm that the applied analysis method is useful for large silencers in mid-high frequency ranges. With the proven procedures, energy flow analysis can be performed for various types of silencer used in ships and off-shore plants in the first stage of the design.

Manufacturing of lens and mirror using Diamond Turning Machine (DTM) offers distinct advantages including short fabrication time and low cost as compared to grinding or polishing process. However, the DTM process can leave mid-frequency error in the optical surface which generates an undesirable diffraction effect and stray light. The mid-frequency error is expected to be eliminated by mechanical polishing after the DTM process, but polishing of soft surface of ductile aluminum is extremely difficult because the polishing process inevitably degrades the surface form accuracy. In order to increase its surface hardness, we performed electroless nickel plating on the surface of diamond-turned aluminum (Al-6061T6) off-axis mirrors, which was followed by the 6-hour-long baking process at $200^{\circ}C$ for improving its hardness. Then we polished the nickel plated off-axis mirrors to remove the mid-frequency error and measured polished mirror surfaces using the optical surface profilometer (NT 2000, Wyko Inc.). Finally, we ascertained that the mid-frequency error on the mirror surface was successfully removed. During the whole processes of nickel plating and polishing, we monitored the form accuracy using the ultra-high accurate 3-D profilometer (UA3P, Panasonic Corp.) to maintain it within the allowable tolerance range (< tens of nm). The polished off-axis mirror was optically tested using a visible laser source and a pinhole, and the airy pattern obtained from the polished mirror was compared with the unpolished case to check the influence of mid-frequency error on optical images.

Muller's method is utilised for obtaining complex roots of a dispersion wave equation, which does not converge in the conventional wave method based on a simple iteration. The wave model is extended from a single-beam-plate system, to a plate with two identical beams which is modelled using a symmetric-antisymmetric technique. The important hypothesis that the coupled beam wavenumber is sufficiently smaller than the plate free wavenumber is experimentally verified. Finally, experimental results such as powers and energy ratios show the validity of the analytical wave models.
In this thesis, studied the method to minimize the changes in frequency response and level due to the variation of the distance from the source to the microphone. selecting three microphones (omni directional, cardioid, super cardioid) which are being used generally, frequency responses were measured in accordance with the distance changes. Gotten the difference from the reference as the result of measurement, changed responses for each frequency range were compensated in comparison of the original human vocal source. In low frequency range, the low frequency boost caused by the proximity effect and decrease in accordance with the distance were compensated. The variation in mid-frequency range is comparatively small, however since the mid-range is the most important part of the human vocal signal, were compensated the mid-frequency range in comparison of the reference. The human vocal signal variation in high frequency range is extremely small and the high frequency is compensated close to the original source without difficulty. Understanding the microphone characteristics and compensations, this study showed that the response can be maintain among the change of the distance from the source to the microphone.

A sensorineural hearing loss(SNHL) occurs when the cochlea in the inner has functional problem. The region in the cochlea with no(or very few) functioning inner hair cells or neurons called 'dead regions'. Amplification using hearing aid over a frequency range corresponding to a dead region may not a beneficial. In this paper, we compared speech recognition with different location of dead region and gain and searched effective gain for hearing aid with dead region. In order to experiment, eight people who has normal hearing ware tested, and we used white noise and babble noise(SNR=0 dB). we divided by three conditions, low, mid and high frequency dead region. In addition, the gains in dead region ware 14.5 dB, 11.5dB and 6 dB gain. There ware different results by location of dead region. The result of WRS and preference in mid-frequency dead region and high-frequency dead region ware higher than them in low-frequency dead region. When we compared as gains, the score of WRS with lower gain was higher than 14.5 dB gain, and the preference was lower as higher gain.
