  • We propose an image change detection algorithm implemented on sensor nodes of the ubiquitous sensor network(USN). The proposed algorithm was designed for the robust detection of image changes regardless of the continuously changing ambient illumination environment. Morphological lowpass filter was used for estimating the illumination component in order to reduce computational burden instead of the existing Gaussian lowpass filter. The decision of the change detection is based on the result of threshold of difference image between two consecutive images. We also propose a new thresholding method using precalculated histogram information. The proposed algorithm was implemented on the MSP430 16bit microprocessor.

  • Arc sensor gives important groove information during welding. Automatic seam tracking control system with arc sensor has significant characteristics such that bead formation is given as decentralization of penetration and formation of concave bead profile and that a turning point of transverse weaving with constant arc length control is decided whether or not torch height reaches to a specified setting level. Furthermore, the rotating action of the arc prevents hanging of weld bead and forms flat bead surface under high speed welding condition. The variation of groove and deposition area can be detected from the trace of weaving. The area and width of weaving trace has close correlation with the area of groove and deposition.   • This paper introduces a real time inspecting and monitoring system by using wireless communication and image processing technique. The communication system is developed by using 80c196kc microprocessor and it has data acquisition function for several kinds of sensors such as pluviometer, temperature, tension meter, elinometer and so on. The image processing method adopts Lalacian of Gaussian operator and least square method to extract line features for the captured images and uses a relaxation matching algorithm based in global structure constraint satisfaction to distinguish the matching error for those features.   • Using one chip microcontroller 87Cl96 (On chip EPROM type) and EPLD (Erasable & Programable Logic Device), an implantable control system to drive pendulum type electromechanical total artificial heart was developed. This control system consists of 4 parts, main management system, motor driver with power regulator, state monitoring system and communication part. The main system has the functions for speed detection, PI(proportional and integration) control, PWM generation, communication and analog data processor. Two kinds of power system were used and separated by 8 photo coupler arrays to improve the system stability. The performances of each compartments were compared with our previous z80 microprocessor based control system and good correspondences was shown. Logic power consumption was reduced to a one third of our previous controller. Using mock circulation tests, the overall performances of control system are evaluated.

  • In this paper, a design of processor IP for TCP/IP protocol stack is described. The processor consists of input and output buffer memory with dual bank structure, 32-bit RISC microprocessor core, DMA unit with on-the-fly checksum capability. To handle the various modes of TCP/IP protocol, hardware and software co-design approach is used rather than the conventional state machine based design. To eliminate delay time due to the data transfer and checksum operation, DAM module which can execute the checksum operation on-the-fly along with data transfer operation is adopted. By programming the on-chip code ROM of RISC processor differently. the designed stack processor can support the packet format conversion operations required in the various TCP/IP protocols.

  • An economical 4-axis CNC controller employing step motors is designed and implemented in this paper. By using the inherent ability of holding position of the motor, the CNC controller uses open-loop control for removing trajectory error and for a simple hardware. Each drive of axis has an 8-bit microprocessor 89C52 and a PC controls the axes and pendant by means of RS232C serial communication. Backlash is also compensated at the axis controller. While compensating the backlash, the feed rate becomes zero in order to minimize trajectory error. The trajectories of 16ms interval are computed on PC and are sent to motor drives. In the drives, the trajectories are linearly interpolated for 2ms interval. The developed CNC does not require add-on specific motion card on PC. From the experimental results, the validity of the CNC controller based on step motor is proved.

  • Arc power is consumed energy per unit time between welding electrodes. The relations between consumed energy and electrode distance, current, voltage are nonlinear characteristics. Therefore commercial A.C. wattmeter cannot be used for measurement of the arc power. Most of arc energy measuring systems are developed for relay contact arc measurement. Relaly arc requires integrated instantaneous power because relay arc finishes in a short instant. But most of welding powers are continually consumed powers, therefore instantaneous power must be continually indicated in the form of averagy value. The author propose a new measurement method of power in which the current and voltage of welding electrode is multiplied and the resultant signal is passed to low pass filter in order to remove higher order frequency components. After integrating, the signal is devided by the integral interval and the results are stored in a computer memory.

  • This paper describes the power line proximity warning device for mobile crane by using the induced voltage measurement method. A mobile crane worker can be easily exposed to dangerous electrical shock and the electrocution while this are working at near the high-voltage electrical lines. In this paper, the derivation electric-potential of the power lines are simulated and microprocessor-based detecting device and transmitter/receiver modules are introduced to show a solution for the dangerous mobile crane working environment.

  • In this paper, remote control and surveillance monitoring system of HID street-lamp using low-cost type of Zigbee communication module was developed. A plurality of capacitors with different capacity are attached to magnetic ballast for HID lamps. Changes in the amount of illumination can be adjusted by the changes in capacity so that the electric energy can be reduced. In Zigbee communication module, a ATmega128L microprocessor is used and in main CPU, ARM9 Core is used to construct a low-cost smart system. In surveillance monitoring systems, the system was configured to remote monitoring of presence of error in the lamp abnormalities, the status of leakage current and abnormalities of ballasts and capacitors and the validity of the proposed empirical experiment was confirmed.

  • I본 연구에서는 마이크로프로세서에 의한 3상 전파 제어정류기의 점호각 제어회로를 설계하였다. 제어회로는 8비트 마이크로프로세서, 점호신호 발생 ROM, Presettable카운터, N분주 카운터와 PLL IC 등으로 구성되어 있다. PLL 원리를 이용하여 주파수 체배회로를 구성하였기 때문에 점호각이 넓은 범위의 전원 주파수에서 제어될 수 있고 간단한 제어알고리즘으로 인해 처리시간이 줄어들므로 빠른 응답특성을 가질 수 있었다. 본 연구에서는 기본 동작원리와 회로의 동작 특성에 대하여 설명하였고 좋은 동작 특성을 실험을 통해서 확인하였다. 이러한 동작원리는 싸이클로컨버터, 3상 교류 전압 조정기, dc 서보제어기와 다른 제어 시스템 등에도 적용이 가능할 것으로 생각된다.
