Role of Development of Submicro-grained Hardmetal in NEDO National Project "High Precision Micro-components"

  • High functional micro devices are demanded in a variety of fields. For realising such demands, development of high-precision micro-components installed in the devices are needed. To achieve high-precision in the mold processing of micro-components, the development of mold materials, i.e., the development of WC-Co hardmetal with higher hardness and fracture strength is essential, together with the developments of processing technology of high precision mold and mold-forming technology of high precision micro-components, etc. The role of development of the finer submicro-grained hardmetal in a NEDO national project aiming the integrated development of these all technologies and some results are mainly explained.

  • MicroC/OS-II에서는 우선순위 역전 현상에 대한 해결 기법으로 뮤텍스를 사용한 기본적인 우선순위 상속(Basic Priority Inheritance)을 사용한다. 뮤텍스를 구현하려면 리얼타임 커널이 우선순위가 같은 여러 태스크를 지원해야 한다. 하지만 MicroC/OS-II는 우선순위가 같은 여러 태스크를 지원하지 않는다. 이를 해결하기 위해 MicroC/OS-II는 우선순위 예약을 사용할 수밖에 없었으며 이로 인해 불필요한 메모리공간 및 우선순위 자원을 낭비하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 MicroC/OS-II에서의 불필요한 메모리 낭비와 우선순위 낭비를 줄여, 적은 용량의 메모리를 가지는 임베디드 장비에 효율적으로 운영되도록 제안 하고자 한다.

The Effect of Pressure on the Properties of Carbon/Carbon Composites during the Carbonization Process

  • 4D carbon fiber preforms were manufactured by weaving method and their carbon fiber volume fractions were 50% and 60%. In order to form carbon matrix on the preform, coal tar pitch was used for matrix precursor and high density carbon/carbon composites were obtained by high densification process. In this process, manufacture of high density composites was more effective according to pressure increasement. When densificating the preform of 60% fiber volume fraction with 900 bar, density of the composites reached at 1.90 $g/cm^3$ after three times processing. Degree of pressure in the densification process controls macro pore but it can not affect micro pore. During the carbonization process, micro pore of the preform were filled fully by once or twice densification processing. But micro pore were not filled easily in the repeating process. Therefore, over three times densification processing is the filling micro pore.

  • Micro/nano-injection molding is one of the main processing techniques for polymer micro-fabrication. Most of the difficulties encountered in polymer micro-molding are caused by the demolding, rather than the filling of molds. Therefore, studying the demolding process is vitally important for manufacturing polymer replicas. The most important parameters are the thermal stress, friction and adhesion forces, and mechanical strength of the resist. In this research, we determinedthe effects of the processing conditions on the ejection force for cases involving two common thermoplastic polymers. The results showed that the processing conditions noticeably influenced the ejection force.

  • Recently, analyzing system is studying for applying to biomedical engineering field, actively. Micro fluidics control system has been manufactured using LIGA (Lithographie Galvanoformung und Abformung), Etching, Lithography and Laser etc. However, it is difficult that above-mentioned methods are applied to fabrication of precision mold master efficiently because of long processing time and rising cost of equipments. Therefore, in this study, micro EDM and micro WEDG system were developed to analyze machining characteristics with tool wear, surface roughness and process time. Then, optimal machining conditions could be obtained from the results of analysis. As the results, mold master of staggered herringbone mixer which has a high mixing efficiency, one of passive mixer of Lab-on-a-chip, could be fabricated from micro pattern(< 50um) using micro EDM successfully.

  • 90년대 중반 이후부터 컴퓨터 산업의 빠른 발전과 급격한 인터넷 발달로 컴퓨터 대중화가 빠르게 이루어져 왔다. 더불어 근래에는 임베디드 시스템 분야가 빠르게 성장하고 있는데, 예전에는 단순한 작업만을 요구하던 임베디드 시스템이, 사용자들의 요구가 다양해지면서 운영체제의 필요성이 높아졌다. 이 논문에서는 임베디드 시스템과 임베디드 운영체제를 정의하고, 상용되고 있는 임베디드 운영교제에 대해 간단히 살펴보도록 하고, 그 중 MicroC/OS-II의 기존의 스케줄링 방식을 수정, 확장시켜보도록 하겠다.

전자현미경내 마이크로 절삭의 화상처리에 의한 절삭 기구 해석 (Analysis of Cutting Mechanism by Image Processing on Micro-Cutting in SEM)

  • This research analyzes the cutting mechanism of A1100-H18 of commercially pure aluminum by image processing in SEM(Scanning Electron Microscope) for the measurement of strain rate distribution near a cutting edge in orthogonal micro-cutting. The distribution is measured using various methods in order. The methods are in-situ observations of cutting process in SEM, inputting image data, a computer image processing, calculating displacements by SSDA(Sequential Similarity Detection Algorithm) and calculating strain rates by FEM. The min results obtained are as follows: (1)It enables to measure a microscopic displacement near a cutting edge. (2) An application of this system to cutting process of various materials will help to make cutting mechanism clear.

  • This paper subscribes the measurement system that can position the target to measure by moving 2-axis stage, which is controlled by the data from image processing technique. The high resolution camera and lens are used in measurement of micro mechanical part, but the region of measurement is very small. It is necessary the re-positioning to measure several regions in one part. The system described in this paper has the accuracy with about $0.9\mu\textrm{m}$ resolution per one pixel and can be applied to measure micro mechanical part.

  • Micro-suing that used on micro mechanism should be equal to distance between pitch and correct of shape. Therefore, micro spring must make by super-precision working. But, current step of super-precision processing depends on special quality of work piece and is ineffective the aspect of cost and productivity yet. Also, to use as demandable length shearing process perform but even if make precision spring, in the aspect of quality of coil spring make difficult that produce product of good quality. Therefore, purpose of this study presented proposed process that extract the point of processing factor after perform finite element analysis applying existing sheet shearing process to suing shearing process consider cost and productivity after evaluate.

유한요소해석을 이용한 마이크로 박판 미세 패턴 롤-롤 성형공정 설계 (Design of Roll-to-Roll Forming Process for Micro Pattern on the Thin Sheet Metal by Finite Element Analysis)

  • Roll-to-roll forming process is one of important metal processing technology because the process is simple and economical. These days, with these merits, roll-to-roll forming process is tried to be employed in manufacturing the circuit board, barrier ribs and solar cell plate. However, it is difficult to apply to the forming of micro scale or sub-micro scale pattern. In this study, the roll forming processing for the micro scale is designed and analyzed. The forming of micro pattern for small electric device such as LCD panel by incremental roll forming process is analyzed. Firstly, the optimum analysis conditions are found by several analyses. And then, formability is analyzed for various protrusion shapes at various forming temperatures. The formability is evaluated in terms of filling ratio and damage value. The filling ratio is defined from the tool geometry and critical damage is determined from the analysis of uniaxial tensile test. Finally, optimum forming conditions that guarantee the successful forming are found.
