고속철도가 수도권 인구분산에 미치는 영향 - 경부선을 중심으로 - (Effect of Population Dispersion from Metropolitan Area by Opening KTX - The Seoul-Pusan High-Speed Railway -)

  • The KTX has been launched one month ago and people can travel much faster and further. There are two opinions which are the dispersion and the concentration of metropolitan population. These contrary opinions were disputed against each other before launching KTX. The phenomena of metropolitan population concentration socially made many problems as it was already pointed out on many papers. So accurate prediction is very important. Thus, this study will predict how KTX will affect the dispersion of metropolitan population focused on highly populated Seoul-Pusan Railway. It will achieved by comparing and analysing foreign cases.

  • Now, the population and economical power is deeply concentrated to Seoul-metropolitan region, therefoere the provinces is so lagging behind and the country cannot get balance development. And, like metropolitan region, the more outer the living area of local wide-area city is spreading, the more serious wide-region transportation problems are. But the railroads near wide-area city fun seldom commuter train, so they cannot absorb the transportation demand of wide-area city metropolitan region. To solve above transportation problem, local wide- area cities try to make a subway or a light rail transit. But it is so difficult because the limit of public finance and original small capacity of light rail. In the paper, I propose 'Local city wide-area electric railways' system of the consortium of 'Local wide-city and province transportation union', Korean National Railroad (KNR) and local capital. A 'Local wide-city and province transportation union' operates commuter railways directly using the facilities of KNR, and local capital invests to the stations of above railways system. Therefore the commuter railway system around local wide-city region will be constructed quickly and the stations will be the strong point of local development and investment.

  • Nowadays, becoming wide area is going on over Seoul Metropolitan area. But urban railway, very important traffic facilities, is operated in normal operating position and it gives cause to week the function of commuting long distance. This paper is focus on studying the feasibility of rapid operation system in Seoul Metropolitan area through comparing the present state of urban railway in Seoul Metropolitan area with a case of the advanced facilities in developed country. And we develop rapid operation system in general aspect through only consideration of operation planning without improvement of facilities. Also, we come up with new concept of rapid operation system through investigation of limits of the preceding researches

경기도권 철도체계의 문제점과 개선방안 - 노선축, 영업, 급행화를 중심으로 (Improving Methods of Metropolitan Railways in Gyeonggi-do - Focusing on Route, Operation and Express Service)

  • Although Gyeonggi-do is the core area which has a quarter of the population of Korea, it has poor railway network and then it have got serious traffic problem. So in this paper, it is introduced the improving methods of railways on Gyeonggi-do. In first, it was showed a fast and effective railway route implementation according to the characteristics with the similar population but the 17 times bigger area than that of Seoul. And it was explained multipurpose using method of the railways of Gyeonggi-do whit subway, commuter, express and high speed train etc. Finally unlike Seoul subway focusing on approachability, it was proposed 'express train paradigm' focusing on implementing the high movability which railways of Gyeonggi-do must have. So with 'Bundang-line' metropolitan railway, the case study in applying to southern metropolitan area with those suggestion was showed.

  • This paper have been dealt with the analysis for energy efficiency improvement effect of unity storage capacity as a part of the energy storage application study to improve energy efficiency in the electric railway systems. Especially, in order to estimate the amount of energy saving according to the variation of power capacity of each storage, the current limit module was mounted on an existing DC electric railway loadflow program which is based on the analysis model for railway system and storages, and combined optimization algorithm to determine optimal voltage boundary.

  • Reliability means that a product maintains its initial quality and performance at a certain period of time (time, distance, cycle etc) under given condition without failure. The given conditions include both environmental condition and operating condition. Environmental condition means a common natural environment such as temperature, humidity, vibration, and working condition means an artificial environment such as voltage, current load, place for installment, and hours of use, which occurs during the life of the product. In the field of railway vehicles, it is mandatory to use a part with the proved reliability as the extension of the life of vehicle become highly necessary. But the reliable assessment method for the reliability of the part is insufficient. If the reliability of the railway vehicle parts could be assessed by using the field data, the reliability of the entire system could also be evaluated reliably. In this study, life span of micro-switch for master controller is analyzed and prediction is performed based on its field data given by an operator considering the special circumstances of railway vehicles such as the operation of a large number of trains on the same line.

광역철도 노선의 급행화 가능성에 대한 기술적 검토 (Technical Study on Possibility of an Express Service Wide Area Railway)

  • 기존 수도권 광역철도는 운행시간이 많이 걸리는 완행 위주의 운행을 하기 때문에 통행시간 측면에서 타 교통수단과의 경쟁력이 저하되고 있는 실정이고, 도로교통을 철도로 유인하는데 한계가 있기 때문에 급행열차 운행을 확대 운영해야 한다는 사회적 요구가 지속되고 있다. 특히 수도권 북부와 수도권 남서부 방면은 대도시 생활권 확대로 광역교통수요 증대에 따른 교통 혼잡 가중 및 통행시간 증가 등 사회적 비용이 과다 발생되고 있어 서울도심을 연결하는 급행 기능의 대중교통망체계가 필요하다. 국내에서 가장 효율적으로 급행화를 운행하는 노선은 서울지하철 9호선이며, 김포공항에서 고속터미널까지 27분 소요됨으로써 완행 44분 대비 약 40% 시간 단축 효과가 있고 혼잡도가 최대 240%에 달할 만큼 이용객의 선호도가 상당히 높다. 본 연구의 기술적 결과들은 광역철도의 급행화 방안의 수행을 위해 기여할 수 있을 것이라 기대한다.

수도권 도시철도 환승통행량 추정방안 (교통카드자료를 이용하여) (Estimating Transfer Trips in Seoul Metropolitan Urban Railway (Using Transportation Card))

  • 수도권 도시철도 환승역에서 노선 간에 이동하는 환승통행량을 추정하기 위한 별도의 교통카드 단말기가 존재하지 않는다. 본 연구는 환승역을 이동하는 승객의 통행이동을 추정하는 모형을 제안하여 환승통행의 특성을 파악하는 방안을 구축한다. 모형의 가정은 승객은 일반화비용을 최소로 하는 통행경로를 선정하는 행태를 통하여 환승역을 경유하도록 구축되었다. 또한 수도권 도시철도의 특성을 반영하는 두 가지 방안을 강구하였다. 이는 도시철도의 경우 출발역과 도착역을 연결하는 유사한 경로가 존재하며 승객은 환승회수가 증가하면서 추가적인 통행비용으로 인식한다는 것이다. 이를 위해 유사한 경로를 탐색하는 방안인 M-유사경로탐색기법을 적용하였으며 계단형 환승계수를 도입하는 방안을 강구하였다. 수도권 도시철도의 2가지 사례를 통하여 환승통행량을 분석하는 방안을 제시하였다. 신도림역 20개 방향별 통행현상을 재현하였다. 수도권 도시철도 33개 환승역사를 대상으로 방향별 통행총량(A), 노선간 환승총량(B), B/A에 대한 비율을 파악하여 통행기능을 파악하였다.

  • The operation of the Seat-type Express Electric railway (SEE) has been watched for an alternative plan according to the increase of competition among the vehicle in metropolitan city. The purpose of this study was to examine a feasibility for the adoption of the SEE by analysis of various condition in the double tracked Souel-Chuncheon line. Fare estimate, station selection for SEE, managerial plan, demanding forecasting and analysis were performed to compute financial efficiency. The results showed financial validity on Revenue Cost Ratio (R/C), Financial Net Present Value (FNPV), Financial Internal Rate of Return (FIRR). This results indicate the evidence that SEE is a new means which is able to complement for finance, transportation capacity in metropolitan city.

  • Metropolitan rapid transit has been used by one of a main transport service for several decades, but there are no monitoring system for electrical equipment condition which can cause enormous economic loss and social problem if fault occurs. Recently, necessity of condition monitoring system for electrical equipment fault came to the fore, we became carrying out a research project for a design of electrical equipment lifetime estimation system for metropolitan rapid transit. In this paper, basic design result of condition monitoring system and specification of transformer partial discharge detection system are presented, which are part of entire lifetime estimation system. Definition of target apparatus and monitoring method determined by analysis of user requirement from each railway company and, each railway company's opinions and requests were collected sufficiently by surveys and discussion.
