Setup Procedure of Dump Valve for Full-Scale Airframe Test (전기체 구조시험의 덤프밸브 조절절차 개발;)

  • This paper present a procedure of meter-out flow control method for dump valve in full-scale airframe test. Emergency stop, which results in dump state, can be happened during full-scale airframe test by several causes. Because servo valve can't control hydraulics actuator in the dump state, pressure in cylinder chamber may rise abruptly and overload can be acted to the test article. In this paper, the procedure and technology of orifice setting are investigated to protect the test article from unexpected loads by dump. The test results show that the presented methods decrease peak loads and improve unloading characteristics of hydraulic actuators in the dump state.

Implementation and Performance Evaluation of the Smart Meter Concentrator Control Protocol for Advanced Metering Infrastructure (차세대 검침 기반구조를 위한 스마트 미터 집중기 제어 프로토콜의 구현과 성능분석)

  • In this paper, we propose an open protocol to be employed between a smart meter concentrator and a metering data collection server, and also evaluate its performance. Legacy concentrators performs the connection establishment and data gathering operations with DLMS/COSEM protocol standards. However, we note that there are no standardized protocols between the concentrator and the collection server, which inevitably conduces each commercial smart metering system to have its own proprietary protocol. In order to solve this problem, we propose an open protocol - Smart Meter Concentrator Control Protocol(SMCCP) by extending the existing standard protocol(DLMS/COSEM). The SMCCP can provide the proxy mode to enable efficient transmission between the concentrator and the data collection server. It also can support the relay mode to enable a direct communication between the data collection server and each far end smart meter. We also implement an emulator system and a protocol analyzer to provide its operation. In addition, we evaluate the session holding time and the link usage ratio in both relay and proxy modes with OMNET++ simulator.

  • To have high flatness quality of hot rolled strip in the hot strip finishing mill train, a new inter-stand tension profile measuring device of segmented looper roll type(coined as Flatness Sensing Inter-stand Looper, FlatSIL) and a new flatness control system have been developed in this study. The device measures the strip tension profile across the strip width and informs the strip wave pattern to new flatness control system where work roll bending mode to relieve the strip wave is determined. The existing automatic shape control system which uses laser type shape-meter installed at the outlet of the last finishing mill stand strip tension between down coiler and last finishig mill since the latent wave concealed by the strip tension between down coiler and last finishing mill stand cannot be measured by the laser distance-meter. Thus the existing shape control system is not able to control the flatness through the full strip length. The new flatness control system, however, works for full strip length during strip rolling as far as the tension profile measuring device and work roll bender are on. With the new flatness control system, work roll bender is automatically controller to minimize the latent wave of the running strip and the flatness quality as well as strip travelling stability has been noticeably improved from strip head through body to tail.

  • Moisture measurements of s intering materials were performed using the simulator which can simulate various conditions taking place at the belt-conveyor of sintering process. The moisture sensor used in this experiment is NIR moisture meter(JE-330, KETT Electric Lab.). Using the simulator, we measured the moisture contents of sintering materials at different conditions. We found that the moisture content decreased as the rotation speed increased and the size of the sintering materials became smaller.

  • The PID control to the monitor color correction was applied. Converted Gamma LUT was applied to the video card. Color and brightness information from the PID controller was used as control inputs. Color and brightness information from a calibrated monitor is measured again. Then, the difference between the preset values for the PID controller was compensated by the feedback. The software measured by color meter was used for color and brightness information. All of the monitor does not measure the color and brightness was measured by sampling. The color and brightness from the monitor were measured not by complete enumeration but by sampling. In the experiment, the original image was displayed on the same monitor as well as two other brands, and then, Gamma and Contrast were measured and compared.

  • Generally, the flow hunting is observed in almost all of the orifice meters but the intensity of the flow hunting is different at each metering system. So, we were getting some Questions as follows; why such a difference occurs and whether it influence to metering error rate or not. To investigate the flow hunting characteristics, we are trying to examine the flow characteristics around the orifice meter when the transient flow or pressure is generated at after the PCV(Pressure Control Valve) by 3D CFD method. And we have compared numerical results with experimental results at M - PCV station in order to clarify the relations with both the metering-pipeline diameter and flow rate. Finally, we can show some major factors influencing to the flow hunting and propose some correcting scheme of the flow hunting equation.

A fuzzy controller based on incomplete differential ahead PID algorithm for a remotely operated vehicle

  • In many applications, Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs) are required to be capable of course keeping, depth keeping, and height keeping. The ROV must be able to resist time-variant external forces and moments or frequent manipulate changes in some specified circumstances, which require the control system meets high precision, fast response, and good robustness. This study introduces a Fuzzy-Incomplete Derivative Ahead-PID (FIDA-PID) control system for a 500-meter ROV with four degrees of freedom (DOFs) to achieve course, depth, and height keeping. In the FIDA-PID control system, a Fuzzy Gain Scheduling Controller (FGSC) is designed on the basis of the incomplete derivative ahead PID control system to make the controller suitable for various situations. The parameters in the fuzzy scheme are optimized via many cycles of trial-and-error in a 10-meter-deep water tank. Significant improvements have been observed through simulation and experimental results within 4-DOFs.

Development of an IV Infusion Rate Regulator Using Optical Drip Rate Meter (광센서 점적계를 이용한 정맥내 주입률 조절기의 개발)

  • It is necessary to maintain constant intravenous (IV) infusion rate. While infusion pump is able to control infusion rate with great accuracy, its rather large size and weight make it difficult for patients to move around. The most commonly used infusion device is gravity IV infusion set with its administration chamber being clamped according to the observed drip rate. In this case it may be easier and more accurate to maintain IV rate to given value if we automate the drip-counting process and tube-clamping work by electronic devices. We calculated volume infusion rate of specific fluid using optical drip rate meter which we had developed. To regulate fluid flow rate, we equipped the rate meter which we had developed with a miniaturized clamping apparatus using DC motor. Also, we Implemented drip detection and clamp control algorithm with PIC16C73 $\mu$-controller (Microchip). This system provides user interface through LCD display and key buttons.
