Optimization of Design of Safety Block by Structural Analysis (구조해석을 통한 안전블록 설계 최적화)

  • The safety block which prevents drop of laborers at high altitude was analyzed by finite element method. Elastic analysis was done by Ansys ver. 11.0. and tetrahedral meshing was used. As load applied more vertically at the fixed face of saw tooth, the stress concentration became smaller and the load distributed broader. When load worked at saw tooth and the shape was more straight to the direction of load, most stresses except principal stress became smaller. When the area of the load increased, principal stress and equivalent stress could be decreased simultaneously. A principal stress and other various stresses occurred in 3D shape, therefore revised model which has smaller equivalent stress than other models shows excellence on the stability and the credibility.

  • There is a merit a planetary gear set disperses a delivery load, and to decrease loss of friction and noise. But, in addition to meshing this internal and external gear simultaneously and phase difference by the tooth contact point and the time difference occurs asymmetric and symmetric sideband noise and vibration caused by the modulation in the vehicle. Existing planetary gear set research have progressed to reduce the cause of the sideband as run-out, pitch error and imbalance. In this paper presents a method for the design of the carrier phase difference by developing various theorys and experiments for gear noise.

  • In the two-dimensional Finite Element Method for forming simulation, mesh generation and remeshing process are very significant. In this paper, using the modified splitting mesh generation algorithm, we can overcome the limitation of existing techniques and acquire mesh, which has optimal mesh density. A modified splitting algorithm for automatically generating quadrilateral mesh within a complex domain is described. Unnecessary meshing process for density representation is removed. Especially, during the mesh generation with high gradient density like as shear band representation, the modified mesh density scheme, which will generate quadrilateral mesh with the minimized error, which takes effect on FEM solver, is introduced.

  • In recent years, vehicle manufacturers have steadily developed fuel saving technologies such as multi-speed automatic transmission. With such a background, the Hyundai-powertech have developed the new 6-speed rear wheel drive(RWD)automatic transmission for FR vehicles. Despite having six-speed, it has the same number of planetary gears as a previously used five-speed automatic transmission and fewer brakes and one-way clutches than the 5 A/T, meaning that it is light, compact, and inexpensive. But, in addition to meshing this internal and external gear simultaneously and phase difference by the tooth contact point and the time difference occurs asymmetric and symmetric sideband noise and vibration caused by the modulation in the vehicle.   • A hypoid gear is a type of spiral bevel gear whose axis does not intersect with the axis of the meshing gear. The size of a hypoid gear is compact and the ratio of contact is high; therefore, the noise is lower than in other types. Due to these characteristics, the hypoid gear is commonly used in manufacturing processes such as those of escalators and subway screen doors. The purpose of this paper is to develop a reducer using the hypoid gear. In order to check the stability of the proposed reducer, 3D modeling is carried out by CATIA, and a structural analysis is performed using FEM (a finite element method).

  • Presented herein is a numerical study for evaluating the aerodynamic behaviour of equipped bridge deck sections. In the first part, the method adopted is described, in particular concerning turbulence models, meshing requirements and numerical approach. The validation of the procedure represents the aim of the second part of the paper: the results of the numerical simulation in case of two-dimensional, steady, incompressible, turbulent flow around a realistic bridge deck are compared to the data collected from wind-tunnel tests. In order to demonstrate the influence of the section details and of the partial streamlining of the deck geometry on its aerodynamic behaviour, in the third part of the paper the effect of the fairings and of each item of equipment of the section (such as central barriers, side railings and sidewalks) is evaluated. The study has been applied to the deck section of the Normandy cable-stayed bridge.

  • The acoustic characteristics radiated from the acoustic transducer with metal-piezoceramic laminated circular plate were simulated. The Vibrational modes of metal-piezoceramic laminated circular plates were calculated by using the finite element method. After meshing the inside closed boundary of the acoustic transducer, the pressure gradients and the isotaric lines were calculated for the various frequencies. It has been observed that the characteristics of the sound pressure calculated for the various frequencies. Also, the directivity patterns and the sound pressure radiated from the acoustic transducer were calculated by 2-dimensional analysis.

Profile Design of the Inner Rotor of a Gerotor by the Composite Curve of Circular Arcs (원호조합곡선에 의한 제로터 내부로터의 형상설계)

  • As the gerotor set with ideal profile meshes too tight, the reduction in the size of the rotor is generally adopted for a smooth operation. In this paper, a method of the profile modification for providing clearances was proposed. The meshing properties of the gerotor were analyzed and the non-boundary section of the inner rotor was identified, which denoted that the adjacent chambers were in the same pressure state. Clearances were imposed on the non-boundary section of the inner rotor, and then the profile of that section was modified as a composite curve of arcs. The other sections of the inner rotor were also interpolated as arcs. Thus, the whole profile of the inner rotor was designed as a composite curve of arcs.

Dynamic Characteristics of Electric Train Driving System (전기동차 구동부의 동특성)

  • The characteristics of vibration and sound signals which occurs at the driving system of electric train are investigated in this study since the vibration of driving system is one of the main sources of vibration and sound in electric train. The vibration signals are changed its signal patterns during the transmission from the source to passengers due to noise or several unknown factors. To avoid the complexity of actual signals of electric train, signals from experimental apparatus of motor/gear driving system are analyzed to find the appropriate method of analysis and to characterize the signal patterns. The used methods are waterfall diagram, transfer function and modal analysis. The results shows that the vibration signals are usually originated from motor bearing and gear meshing and these signals are transmitted to bottom or bogie. Also, the sound signal is similar to the vibration of bottom or bogie, but it is not so clear to figure out the source of vibration.

  • Although modern medicine has made great strides in the management of burn injuries, associated complications such as pain, infection, dyspigmentation, and scarring have yet to be fully dealt with. Although skin grafting and meshing are routinely performed on burn patients, this method poses a risk for adverse effects. Activated autologous platelet-rich plasma (aaPRP), which is increasingly used in the field of plastic surgery, contains growth factors beneficial for wound regeneration. Seven cases of burns with varying severity and conditions that were treated with intralesional subcutaneous injection and intravenous aaPRP are presented and discussed herein. This case series indicates that subcutaneous and intravenous aaPRP is a safe procedure with the potential to be an alternative when skin grafting cannot be done or as an adjunct treatment to skin grafting.
