  • This paper presents a CATV SMS (Status Monitoring System) using HDLC (High Level Data Link Contorl) protocol and the system implementation.The system specifications were derived from the analysis of technical status and requirement of the domestic CATV industry. For the interoperability with a global network management system in the future, HDLC protocol was adopted in the system. The system performance was improved by using the communication controller chip and the large data buffer. For reducting the communication problems induced by accumulated noise in up-stream data channels, the system was designed that the different communication channel can be assigned to each proper mass of terminal. The operating software was designed with menu driven user interface and have various functions for the convenience of users. The test result of the implemented system at the experimental network showed good performance and suitability for a coaxial CATV Status Monitoring System.

  • GRAFCET is the program language for a sequential control and utilized in the description of sequence of a process. This study is to implement GRAFCET editor and compiler for personnel computer. The GRAFCET editor module is developed to use as menu-driven method based on the graphic screen and the graphic symbol. So, users can use it interactively. The GRAFCET compiler module analyzes the already drawed GRAFCET diagram, then translates it to Z80 assembly code. After generating Z80 machine code from assembly code, we can send the outputed machine code file to Z80 one-board computer through RS232C. We have developed the GRAFCET programming tool to utilize under IBM PC/AT with the VGA monitor, and it may be contribute to low cost automation system.

  • Drawing pneumatic circuits by hand and searching for the error when the circuit is not properly constructed are very difficult. In this paper, a graphic simulation program for drawing and evaluating pneumatic circuit systems was developed. The porgram is menu-driven style and pneumatic circuit can be easily drawn by selecting the pneumatic components from the menus. Simulation of the motion of each pneumatic component and testing of whether the circuit is constructed properly are possible with the software. This program was written in Turbo Pascal and also used the Turbo Graphix Toolbox. The system hardware requires IBM PC, XT, AT or compatibles, and Hercules Card.

  • NC machining of large screw which is usually used as a part in an extruder for injection molding is done on 3-axis turning machine, and it is very time-consuming process. Not only in machining but in preparing part program for a NC machine, it requires very long time because the shape of the screw is not easy to model when using an existing general CAD/CAM software even though it is workstation level software. In addition, tool path generation procedure for NC turning for screw shape is also very tedious one because large amount of data for cutter location point must be produced and there is no specific CAM software for the machining. In this paper. development of a CAM system for screw machining which saves the role of CAD software by use of menu driven data input system for various screw shapes is introduced.

  • Design methodology of Interactive Measuring Part Program Generating Tools(IMPPGT) realized on the FANUC 15MA using touch trigger probes and interactive macro functions of the CNC was described in this paper. Measuring G codes were designed according to geometric form, precision attributes, relations between parts, datum hierarchies, and relevant technological data by using measuring arguments. Menu driven measuring and inspection functions of the IMPPGT were studied and implemented on the CNC through the macro executor and ROM writer. Using the developed measuring G code system on the machine tool, untended measurement and inspection operation was able to be realized in precision FMS lines.

  • In order to achieve high accuracy of teaching and increase productivity using industrial robots in polishing process of dies, an off-line task programming system was developed on IBM-PC/386 under WINDOWS 3.0 operating system. The internal structure and the machematical basis of CAMPoli are described. Surface modeling technique of polishing dies with sculptured surfaces is introduced by poing data interpolation methodology through the use of CL-data transmitted from conventional CAM system. Tool selection, polishing speed, polishing pressure and kinds of tool motions can be determined and selected by user specified polishing variables. Task creation and verification of polishing path via computer graphics simulation of polishing tool can be done by the menu- driven function of CAMPoli system. Post-processing module is attached to generate robot language. Some simulation results are provided as verification means of the system.

  • 최근 하천의 생태성이 강조된 식생, 사석, 목재 등의 자연 재료를 사용하는 친환경적인 호안이 고안되어 시공되고 있다. 이러한 호안들은 홍수시 유실에 따른 안정성의 확보와 생태성을 고려하는 것이 중요하다. 본 연구는 기존에 개발되어진 돌망태호안, 식생호안 및 식생블록호안의 안정성평가 프로그램에 개발한 사석안정성 산정식을 이용하여 사석호안공에 대한 안정성평가를 추가하였다. 각각 호안에서의 밑다짐공의 최대세굴심과 폭의 산정으로 밑다짐공의 안정성평가를 추가하여 호안 안정성평가에 대해 폭 넓은 평가를 제시하였다. 개발된 호안 안정성평가 프로그램에 사석호안공과 밑다짐공의 안정성을 추가하여 김상문, 최흥식(2008)에 의해 Data-Base를 기반으로 개발된 Menu-Driven방식의 호안 안정성평가 프로그램을 개선하였다. 개선을 통하여 호안의 축조는 물론 생태성이 강조된 호안설계에 의한 자연형 하천복원 시에 많은 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다.

  • A real-time flood forecasting system(FLOFS) was developed for the real-time and predictive determination of flood discharges and stages, and to aid in flood management decisions in the Keum River Estuary Dam. The system consists of three subsystems : data subsystem, model subsystem, and user subsystem. The data subsystem controls and manages data transmitted from telemetering systems and simulated by models. The model subsystem combines various techniques for rainfall-runoff modeling, tidal-level forecasting modeling, one-dimensional unsteady flood routing, Kalman filtering, and autoregressivemovingaverage(ARMA) modeling. The user subsystem in a menu-driven and man-machine interface system.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a computer program for automatic dart manipulation, as well as basic pattern making, of women's front bodice. In addition to accuracy and efficiency In pattern making, this computer program provides variations of basic patterns through dart manipulation. AutoCAD, running on the Austin 486DX micro-computer is used for this research. The procedures of this study are as follows : 1. A pattern-making method for women's front bodice is selected. 2. All co-ordinate points are located following the same way and order of drafting. 3. Drafting of a basic front bodice is programmed 4. Functions for various single dart manipulations are defined. 5. Menu-driven user interface is developed.

  • A modeling technique of land rearrangement was proposed using Geographical Information System(GIS) based on PC ARC/INFO. Three regions with different slopes were chosen. At first, slope angle and direction were calculated, and lands were rearranged using various parameters. The required parameters are obtained from PC ARC/INFO and the design factors for land rearrangement. The shape of land before rearrangement could be compared with the shape of land after rearrangement. Besides the shape comparison, drain site could be determined and the information for cost of land rearrangement could be obtained. The system was integrated on a menu driven style with SML files and subprograms. GIS was proved to be useful for land rearrangement design.
