Cooling Effect of a Heated Porous Plate by Droplets Impingement - A Preliminary Study (가열 상태의 다공성 판에 충돌하는 액적의 냉각 성능에 대한 기초 연구)

  • In the present work, effects of spray characteristics (droplet size and velocity) on the temperature variation of a heated porous plate (Melamine foam) have been investigated through a series of experiments. Based on the measured data, time required to cool down the hot porous material turned out to be shorten by doing with the smaller droplet size and/or smaller impinging velocity. In particular, the droplet size effect is more prominent than the impinging velocity. The cooling performance in the porous material is directly proportional to the penetration velocity.

  • This study examined the thermal stability of PLA-WF bio-composites. Wood flour (WF)-filled PLA bio-composites were reinforced with the flame retardants, Melamine pyrophosphate (MPP), resorcinol bis (diphenyl phosphate) (RDP) and zinc borate (ZB). The flame retardant was compounded with PLA and natural biodegradable filler. The thermal properties of the biodegradable polymer and bio-composites reinforced with the flame retardant were measured and analyzed by DSC, DMA and TGA. The results showed that the flame retardant-reinforced biodegradable bio-composite exhibited improved thermal properties.

Influence of Chemical Admixture on Bleeding of Concrete (콘크리트의 블리딩에 미치는 혼화제의 영향)

  • This study is intended to investigate the influence of chemical admixture on bleeding of concrete. According to the results, the amount of bleeding with elapse of time does not make much difference in the case of naphthalene type water reducing agent(RN), Naphthalene type high performance water reducing agent(HN) and Melamine type high performance water reducing agent(HM), but it is largest in the case of Polycarbonic acid type high performance water reducing agent(HP). Bleeding speed also is highest in the case of HP in comparison with other chemical admixture. This prove that high performance water reducing agent like HP has little effect on fluidity of concrete, but influences the amount of bleeding more greatly, instead. As properties of hardened concrete, compressive strength makes no difference in the case of RN, HN and HM, but on the other hand, it increases in the case of HP due to a decrease of air content and the large amount of bleeding.

  • Aspergillus fumigatus(AF) and Penicillum citrinum(PC) were selected for their strong abilities to produce protease. The result are summarized as follows; 1. The λd numerical values of the silk fabrics with AF and PC were 560 and 580 nm for the both stains of molds. 2. By the growth of molds, lightness, original color scale, and grey scale of the fabrics gradually decreased while chroma increased. 3. The minimum inhibitory concentrations of mold proofing agents, such as Leperon WL, 8-hydroxyquinoline copper acetates, trimethylol melamine and dimethly ethylene urea was 50 ppm. 4. Glycoxale was not effective at the abovely concentration. Since Leperon WL, dimethyl ethylene urea effectively inhibited the growth of PC silk, tensile strengh and elongation of the fabrics were not changed.

  • Polyurethane (PU) was synthesized by one-shot process and the PU nanofiber was prepared by electrospinning. In this study, electrospun PU multi-membranes were prepared with various coating thickness ratio of base resin to top resin, where the base resin contains melamine curing agent and acid catalyst and the top resin contains water-repellent agent of fluoro-carbon compounds. The PU nanofiber multi-membranes were analyzed by field-emission scanning electron microscopy, differential scanning calorimeter, breathability, tensile strenth, air permeability and water resistance. The results showed that the PU multi-membrane provided excellent waterproof and moisture permeability.

  • In order to improve the water swelling, thermal/mechanical and adhesion properties of waterborne polyurethane (WBPU), a series of the crosslinkable WBPUs containing hydrophilic ionic component, dimethylol propionic acid (20 mole%), were prepared by in-situ polymerization using a cross-linker hexakis (methoxymethyl) melamine (HMMM). Effects of the HMMM content (2, 4, and 6 wt%) and curing temperature on these properties of the crosslinked WBPUs samples were investigated. All properties were found to increase with increasing HMMM content. It was found that the optimum curing temperature of the WBPU films and adhesives was near $120^{\circ}C$, which was not dependent on the HMMM content.

  • Epoxy resin and CTBN(carboxyl terminated butadiene acrylonitrile) rubber were reacted at $150^{\circ}C$. Epoxy mixtures containing reactant in a ratio $0{\sim}75%(wt%)$ of total liquid component were with dicyandiamide(DICY) at $130{\sim}200^{\circ}C$. Cure, thermal and adhesive properties were investigated in relation to rubber content, cure temperature, hardner content and promoter content. $CTBN{\times}13$ showed better properties in miscibility, curing time and adhesive strength. 2PZ-CNS was more excellent in Tg, and melamine was in adhesive strength. Adhesive strength represented best at rubber content $12{\times}15%$.

  • We have fabricated pentacene based organic thin film transistors (OTFTs) with formulated poly[4-vinylphenol] (PVP) gate dielectrics. The gate dielectrics is composed of PVP, poly[melamine-coformaldehyde] (PMF) and photo-initiator [1-phenyl-2-hydroxy-2-methylpropane-1-one, Darocur1173]. By adding small amount (1 %) of photo-initiator, the cross-linking temperature is lowered to $115^{\circ}C$, which is lower than general thermal curing reaction temperature of cross-linked PVP (> $180^{\circ}C$). The hysteresis and the leakage current of the OTFTs are also decreased by adding the PMF and the photoinitiator in PVP gate dielectrics.

  • We introduce the new modification approaches of photocrosslinkable poly (4-vinylphenol) (PVP) for low hysteresis organic thin film transistors (OTFTs). The dielectric layers were composed of different PVP resin, low molecular melamine, and halogen free photo-initiator. The low hysteresis OTFT from one of the organic gate dielectrics has been realized. The electrical performance of low hysteresis OTFT with photocrosslinkable PVP exhibited a field-effect mobility of 0.2 cm2/Vs, a threshold voltage of - 0.04V, hysteresis of 0.4V.

  • We study on the segregation reduction effect of Self-Leveling Color Mortar by using variable composition set of plasticizer and thickener, Naphthalene, melamine and polycarbonate-based dispersants were employed as plasticizers for examining on fluidity of mortar mixtures. For enhancement of mortar stability without loss of it's fluidity, two types of thickener were used such as polysaccharide(PS) and hydroxyethylcellulose(HEC). As a result, the most effective mortar was composed by feeding 0.519% of polycarbonate-based dispersant with 0.002587% of PS and 0.155844% of HEC on amount of basic mortar.
