Asymmetric Price Differential between Medium and Small Class Cars across Countries: A Case Study - Korea and the U.S.

  • This paper examines how a Korean automobile firm price-discriminates between the Korean and the U.S. markets. We argue that a Korean automobile firm's pricing behavior depends on the differences in price elasticity over the segmented markets between the countries. Our findings are that differences in price elasticity may help explain why a medium-class car's price is higher in Korea than that in the U.S. while a small-sized car's price is higher in the U.S. than in Korea, which implies that a Korean automobile firm $3^{rd}$ degree price-discriminates on the same or similar products between Korea and the U.S. This type of $3^{rd}$ degree price discrimination differs from a typical home-bias effect (charging higher prices to domestic consumers) because a small-sized car which is produced domestically sells at higher price abroad. This finding can be added as a source that violates the law of one price.

중형 자동차의 배기매니폴드 형상에 따른 내구성에 관한 융합 연구 (A Convergent Study on Durability over the Exhaust Manifold Shape of Medium-sized Car)

  • 본 연구에서는 엔진 배기 매니폴드 두 가지 모델의 형상을 설계하고 이 모델들에 대한 구조 해석 및 고유진동수 해석을 통하여 강도 및 내구성을 해석하였다. 구조 해석의 결과로서 Model B의 응력과 변형량이 Model A의 최대의 응력과 변형량보다 각각 9배 및 39배 이상으로 상당히 더 크기 때문에 Model A의 강도가 Model B보다 훨씬 더 양호하다고 볼 수 있다. 또한 Model A의 최대 진동수가 Model B의 고유 진동수보다 더 크고 그 최대 변형량은 Model A가 Model B보다 작기 때문에 Model A의 내구성이 Model B보다 더 양호하다는 것을 확인할 수 있다. 본 연구 결과를 이용하면 실제 실험을 하지 않아도 중형 자동차의 배기매니폴드 형상에 따른 내구성을 조사할 수 있다. 또한 소형 자동차의 머플러의 미적인 융합 설계에 도움이 될 수 있다고 보인다.

중소기업 ERP 템플릿 표준화 방법론의 프로세스 적합성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Fitness of ERP template Standardization Methodology for Medium and Small-sized Enterprises)

  • ERP implementations are known to be unusually difficult, even when compared to other large-scale systems developing in a firm level, because it requires a substantial investment of time, money, and internal resources. Moreover, medium and small-sized enterprises that are increasingly adopting ERP feel much difficult due to the lack of resources. To promote the spread of ERP in medium and small-sized enterprises, "ERP template standardization methodology" led by government has been used for constructing ERP system in Korea. In this study, we present a study to measure fitness between ERP standard templates and business processes of 10 small enterprises in 5 industries. Also, we define a fitness measure suitable for this purpose. We car find that ERP template standardization methodology is partly adequate to establish ERP systems and it is required to add to templates which support the differences of business process.

국민주택규모 아파트단지의 주차수요에 관한 연구 - 대구광역시 칠곡지구를 중심으로 - (A Study on the Parking Demand of Public Sized Apartments - Focused on Apartments at Chil-Gok Area in Daegu -)

  • The parking problem is caused by the parking demand. The ratio of parking demand at multi-family housing sites has been increased significantly, therefore several parking problems have occurred. The goal of this study is to investigate the parking demand per housing size of public-sized apartments, and to prepare that with the architectural regulations about parking supply. According to the results of this study, the parking demand of the small size housing unit(exclusive size:60 $m^2$ below) shows 1.09 car per the unit. and that of the medium size housing unit(exclusive size:60 $m^2$ over 85 $m^2$ below) shows 1.34 car per the unit. The parking demand of the small size housing unit was exceeded 56% more than the legal supply limit, and the parking demand of the medium size housing unit was exceeded 34% more. It is means that the level of architectural regulation about parking supply was not enough than the parking demand. So, it needs recon-sideration about the architectural regulations of parking supply.

  • This Study aims to analyze the management performances of the rubber products from the perspectives of ISO9001 Quality Management System, which is a new management technique for management innovation, in order to secure the competitiveness of the small and medium manufacturers of rubber products for automobile as automobile application components. The results of the analysis can be summarized as follows: First, as the results of the analysis of effect of the (1) responsibility of the management, (2) resources management, (3) realization of the products, and (4) measurement, analysis and improvement, which are the 4 core requirements of the ISO9001 Quality Management System, on the management performances of the small and medium sized manufacturers of the rubber components for automobile, it was found that only the responsibility of the management and resources management affect the management performance. The above research findings imply that the company must absolutely rely on the upper ranked groups rather than the lower ranked groups, and on the responsibilities of the management rather than the upper ranked groups in order to elevate the management performance of the small and medium sized manufacturers of the rubber components for automobile.

  • 본 논문에서는 중소형 선박에 적합한 저가의 VDR(Voyage Data Recorder)시스템을 설계하고, 해양 항법시스템의 효율성 향상을 위해 해양 항법시스템과 VDR이 시리얼 통신 혹은 이더넷 기반으로 데이터 통신을 하여 VDR에 연계된 항해통신 장비 및 센서 등의 데이터들을 항법시스템에 저장 및 출력할 수 있도록 구현하고자 한다. 또한, 육상에서 VDR의 기능과 동일한 역할을 수행하는 "차량용 블랙박스"(차량 위치, 영상, 음성저장)와 같이 VDR 고유 기능을 통한 정확한 해난 사고 원인 분석이 가능하게 중소형선박에도 확대 적용하고자 소형 경량화로 설계하고자 한다.

  • 국내 철도차량부품 제조 중소기업은 250여 개의 관련업체가 있으며 자체 기술력을 보유하기 보다는 외국 기술과 제품을 수입하여 철도차량의 부품을 제작 납품하는 형태로 생존하고 있다. 이로 인해 철도 핵심부품 산업은 해외 의존성이 높은 상황이다. 이에 정부에서는 철도차량부품 제조 중소기업 지원을 위해서 다양한 정책적 지원을 강화하고 있지만, 정부의 지원 정책이 철도차량부품 제조 중소기업이 안고 있는 문제점과 애로사항을 충분히 해결하지 못하고 있다. 철도차량부품 제조 중소기업이 국가경제의 경쟁력 강화에 기여할 수 있고 이들을 효과적으로 지원하기 위해서는 기술사업화 과정에서 중요한 촉진요인이 무엇인지 명확히 파악할 필요가 있다. 이에 본 연구는 철도차량부품 제조 중소기업의 기술사업화를 촉진하는 10개의 요인을 추출하였으며, 이들 지표의 중요도를 AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process)를 이용하여 분석하였다. AHP 분석결과, 기업내부 요인이 가장 중요한 요인으로 나타났으며, 그 하위 항목으로는 '사업화 능력'이 가장 중요한 항목으로 분석되었다. 본 연구의 내용과 결과는 공공 연구기관 및 철도차량부품 제조 중소기업 지원 기관인 철도 운영기관의 기술사업화 지원 프로그램 기획과 지원 정책을 수립할 때 유용하게 이용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

글로벌 3강과 국제경쟁력 비교분석을 통한 현대·기아차의 추격전략 연구 (A Study on the Catch-Up Strategy of Hyundai·Kia by Comparing and Analyzing the Global Competitiveness with the Three Global Leading Companies)

  • The objective of the study is to propose the catch-up strategy of Hyundai Kia to become the globally leading company in the automobile industry. For this, we try to compare Hyundai Kia with three leading automobile companies: Toyota, VW, and GM by using the Generalized Double Diamond Model. As a result, we present three ways that Hyundai Kia can become a "First Mover." The three strategies are : 1) controlling increase of wage, raising productivity, and increasing R&D investment 2) increasing overseas investment of the small and medium sized automobile factories 3) pursuing the two tracks strategy of a public car and a prestige car more aggressively. This study is significant in the fact that it presents the catch-up strategy of Hyundai Kia in the automobile industry, of which the leaders can not be changed easily, by the Generalized Double Diamond Model approach.

  • With the development of the technology, the usage of the car has been increased to the allowed limit of the road and has caused global warming and air pollution. Subway is good transit system with punctuality, safety and eco-friendliness, but it needs relatively much money for construction considering the needs of transit. So it is hard to balance the finance. Many developed countries have adopted advanced transit system including tram for the linking small and medium sized cities after 1980s, due to the relatively low construction cost. This paper reviews the way to increase the role of tram which is planed to be introduced to the local governments as a kind of Advanced transit system.

  • Visual effects are important cues for providing occupant s with virtual reality in a vehicle simulator which imitates real driving. The viewpoint of an occupant is sensitively dependent upon the occupant´s posture, therefore, the total body motion must be considered in a graphic simulator. A real time simulation is required for the dynamic analysis of complex human body motion. This study attempts to apply a neural network to the motion analysis in various driving situations. A full car of medium-sized vehicles was selected and modeled, and then analyzed using ADAMS in such driving conditions as bump-pass and acceleration. A multibody system analysis software, MADYMO, was used in the motion analysis of an adult male dummy in the seated position.
